He used to say how important it was to him that MTA pay a dividend (y'know, like the other royalty companies are doing) -- until they stopped doing it. I don't think he's uttered the word since, and none of these "interviewers" bring it up.

He did not say that his company is in the same place as the others right now. That's where the 5 cents on the dollar illustration comes in, but you do you!

I held both MTA and NOVA for years. MTA did well for awhile, but then just dragged. EB is a good talker and has great points, but his companies ROI for regular investors is terriable.
I bought some MTA, but I also invested in FNV because they're larger and better established. They're both royalties and I intend to hold for the long term!
I like what he says. He is spot on with a lot of his calls. But these metal royalty companies that he touts have pretty bad stock charts. If you ask me and if you look at the charts you might be better off with just investing or buying the commodities themselves instead of these royalty companies. Green energy is going to have a place but its not going to over take fossil fuels in our lifetime. There isnt enough available land on earth for the amount of windmills & solar panels needed to power our world. In addition, an excessive, massive amount of windmills & solar panels will have incalculable effects on our environment that are probably much worse than fossil fuels.

Because they purchase a percent of a mines production, say 1-3% of the mined gold for a set price and then they let the miners do the work for them. They don't risk exposure to rising costs, unless the costs put the mine in care and maintenence, meaning they shut it down. The problem with Metalla is only four of their 70+ royalties are in production.

I held both MTA and NOVA for years. MTA did well for awhile, but then just dragged. EB is a good talker and has great points, but his companies ROI for regular investors is terriable.

I like what he says. He is spot on with a lot of his calls. But these metal royalty companies that he touts have pretty bad stock charts. If you ask me and if you look at the charts you might be better off with just investing or buying the commodities themselves instead of these royalty companies. Green energy is going to have a place but its not going to over take fossil fuels in our lifetime. There isnt enough available land on earth for the amount of windmills & solar panels needed to power our world.
In addition, an excessive, massive amount of windmills & solar panels will have incalculable effects on our environment that are probably much worse than fossil fuels.
I agreed with your thoughts all the way up until you said there isn’t enough room on earth for solar panels to service our electricity needs. There is enough room in the Nevada desert alone.

Because they purchase a percent of a mines production, say 1-3% of the mined gold for a set price and then they let the miners do the work for them. They don't risk exposure to rising costs, unless the costs put the mine in care and maintenence, meaning they shut it down. The problem with Metalla is only four of their 70+ royalties are in production.

Lots of good insights, but I’d have rather owned AMZN stock over the last two decades than any metal. People should consume less junk for sure in material possessions and bad quality food. But, good companies make our lives better. Long live good companies.
