This is a very VERY ORIGINAL arrangement. It almost changes the entire meaning of the song. Instead of just being a "chick flick" declaration of eternal love and heartbreak, it feels as if the singer HAS TO sacrifice himself by pulling away from his love in order to ensure that his love's life stays preserved. There is no other choice. It's as if the singer's dark past wedges them apart. I enjoy singing along with the original, but this version touches me in ways that I find difficult to describe.
