@@xPoisonDashxyou aren’t being realistic. I’ve played Roland’s and others. No this kit is not that quality. But that is not the market place Simmons is after either. Unless you’ve played these you can’t render an honest opinion. For what these are the sound sampling’s Simmons has chosen are extremely well thought out and implemented in these kits. @@paulbfields8284 That argument would be valid if roland didn't have similar priced kits, but it does and they sound better and have a better playing feel than these kits.
I think Simmons did a great job at this price point. The other manufacturers should take notice. The dual-zone drum pads and the three-zone ride cymbal are extremely important for authenticity and unheard of at this price point. There should be some upgrade options for it, especially a more authentic hi-hat that actually opens and closes on a real stand. The plastic mounting hardware is a little scary in terms of durability. That would take it from good to amazing.
I love the Simmons brand e-drums, and this kit looks amazing, seriously thinking of already replacing my year old donner pile of garbage. note to everyone, never buy a kit you haven't tested out ahead of time. no matter how good someone online makes it sound. People sometimes can be very manipulative. I don't think so in this case, I have played a Simmons e-kit, and heard several others play this kit and the sounds, dynamic range, the color, the features are all spectacular. But don't take my word for it, don't take anybody's word for it, try before you buy. Swing by your local Guitar Center and test it out, you don't need to buy from them buy anywhere, but find it somewhere and see personally just how good Simmons kits really are.
I have the 50 since last fall. First let me say of the reviews I’ve seen this is one of the more respected ones. This young lady can play and communicate in a way that beginners to skilled drummers can relate to. I sold my skins a few years ago and my wife felt bad so she bought me a real cheap set of Simmons with only a mesh snare. I wouldn’t even set them up for a few months I was so unimpressed just from what I saw. Eventually I set them up and it was enough to get my attention though way below my ability. So I got the Titan 50 and this past year has been a blast being able to get it going w headphones while the wife was asleep. I’ve had a great time and this the snare is very honest. But now I wanted to get the 1250 but it doesn’t have the Bluetooth and for me that’s important for keeping simple and quick to get in, get down and get out. Im definitely thinking I’m going to sell the 50 and get this 70 because the dual zones on Tom’s is a plus and the three zone ride is huge. The floor pad is also much nicer and probably feels more realistic. I already have the 50 w expansion kit so this kit will sit right in perfectly. I’ve played high dollar Roland’s and this is not that by a long shot.. but.. for what I want and the price this will do me another year or two till Simmons offers Bluetooth on a larger set at a reasonable price. Again this girl can play and she makes this set sound as good as they really can sound. Her honesty is obvious. This level of kit is not for a lifetime but if you want it to sound and feel right I can honestly say the Titan 50 has delivered. I expect no less from the 70…
What a lier. This is probably ok for the price. But Hi-Hat is far from great, Especially PEDAL is just horrible. Forcing me to return it and buy much more expensive drums. Simmons you guys need to inveo st a Hi-Hat and Pedal. Pedal need to have release sensor to make t open hisound and make it better quality.
Sound yang real layaknya drum akustik, semoga drum ini bisa masuk ke toko kami dan saya bisa langsung mencobanya, terima kasih sudah memeberikan penjelasan yang komplit
I bought one and was surprised to find out that a kit "for serious players" has noisy consumer grade outputs instead of the professional line-level balanced outputs you'd find on any 300 dollar Alesis kit. Also, it seems the ride "bell" tracking is very iffy on the presets I tried. Less than half the strikes would be registered as a bell, and the cymbal velocity curve on most of the presets seemed unnatural. However, on other presets, the cymbals did seem to reflect my velocity very well. My hope is that tweaking parameters may allow dialing in these cymbal issues to where they're acceptable. The hardware is plastic, but heavy-duty enough that for my world it's not an issue. The packing is "excellent" (every single object has its labeled box) and is engineered to fit perfectly in the large outer box with enough room left over for several atoms) However, I found the thought of figuring out how to re-box it without the software that designed the packaging (snap some photos) was the major reason I didn't send it back- that and the fact that my main purpose was to have a midi controller with an extra tom and cymbal so as long as that flies, the fisher-price audio outputs won't be a showstopper. If I find issues there, the thing is a total bust.
Hey, GC---how does this kit compare with the NUX DM-8. or the Millennium MPS 850? I might just ge this kit just to do a review and to document the longevity or lack of, and shows what breaks and wears out. These are the things the consumers need. And, as a side note, we don't want these kits to break in a couple of years and just end up in some landfill somewhere do we?
I don't know where ur located but here in the US we have no options to test the millenium or nux kits. We'd have to order them from overseas without knowing if they are quality or not. From what I see I'm very intrigued by them. What is your opinion of these brands? Are they quality? Do they sound decent? Any machine gunning? They look really nice and I've almost ordered o nux a few times but scared out because of the shipping costs.....please review any if you don't mind😀😀😀
Would this kit work with Mixwave plugins for a computer? If so whats the most affordable laptop and brand i could use to enhance the drum sounds? Im a guitar player and wanting to get into drums and im really interested in this kit.
Hi! In addition to the incredible sounds in the Titan 70, you can absolutely use it as a MIDI controller with your DAW and plug-ins of choice. As far as laptop needs, you'll want to look at what your processing needs are, external connectivity, etc. We'd love to build out your home studio setup with you, so feel free to stop by your local GC or speak to one of our Gear Advisers at our Contact Center and we'll be happy to help you out!
The important part of the computer is RAM, RAM, RAM depending on how detailed the library is AND the audio interface. And you'll need low latency! Fortunately, I am still fine with my M-Audio Fast Track Ultra from 2008 :-) that I grabbed used in 2011 and I have a latency of about 7ms (this is drum module scan time 2.5 ms + transmission via usb ~1ms + output latency 3.5 (so fromt the "play sound" command through the ASIO driver and DAC). I tried some newer interfaces Steinberg, MOTU, Audient but basically there was no better performing interface.
@jonwelch9946 So, I would say: Nahhh. Even though it would be possible, depending on the library you are using. Of course, you can limit the number of room mics and limit the number of samples etc. But... I had 16 GB in a PC from 2013. That was fine. I mean the most EZDrummer EZX libraries are below a Gigabyte.
Yep! You can get them at your local Guitar Center, contact one of our Gear Advisers via chat or over the phone or you can order them online: www.guitarcenter.com/Simmons/Titan-70-Electronic-Drum-Kit-With-Mesh-Pads-and-Bluetooth.gc?source=4GOA4LOBA

At this price point there are no challengers. Super sturdy rack. Amazing sounds. Do customize even preset kits. I am sending kit to a mini powered mixer w/ a 5 headphone splitter jack so the whole band can play along. The mixer makes this kit even sound better! Tension your pads to emulate your acoustic drum set up. I am using the DW 5000 heelless pedal w/ plastic beater w/ pedal plate [helps stabilize the kick]. The kick pedal is garbage should have not included it and lowered the price point.

I use Toontrack Superior Drummer 3 together with my Audiofront eDRUMin10 interface and rather cheap pads (see my setup) and togehter with my LEMON triple zone cymbal pads I got even hihat bell sounds, of course depending on the controller position (CC04). I bought a Titan 50 a year and a half ago - sounds pretty good, but it’s not well made. Some important metal connecting pieces / bushings in the bass pedal have broken, and now the electronics in my bass pad is fried. The Simmons warranty claim process is *total nightmare*. They do not stand by their equipment. (And under no circumstances pay guitar center for extended warranty - complete ripoff from top to bottom. I went in to a store and asked for GC to help and they referred me to the 800 number of the extended warranty company….who - I kid you not - referred me to the Simmons warranty 800 number. Zero added value. Ridiculous.) Do not buy this kit. And definitely dont fall for GC’s extended warranty scams. GC execs should be criminally prosecuted for this garbage, it’s so utterly deceptive.
