Comparison to nba in terms of years was spot on bro! … and and my thing with the 4 point play is that it’s too gimmicky… same as something simple as the the color of the ball … this is not the Harlem globe trotters lol … interviews during the game … gimmicks instead of competition which is why we watch the college game them girls compete no gimmicks 🏀
Thx & Facts they are not at the point where they can waste possible new fans they got too comfortable during that game when a show would’ve went a long way I think they need to figure something out because the aces from what it looks like could make it a dominate finals which isn’t good for somebody new barring one team getting there and clicking because of size so the finals most likely won’t be the sell so this was the moment to convert many over but they missed it
What crazy is there was an all star game with wnba where they was actually playing defense and they was COMPETING, it was this rookie “schimmel” and she was flashy. It made me and my brother want to watch because they was playing more entertaining than men all stars. The no defense thing works for men because they do the dunking for the women they rely more on skills and that’s what makes them entertaining I see things women do that men don’t have to do, but it makes them more entertaining.
I dont like it with the men either but for them it doesn't matter because their established . I don't want to watch dunking with no defense either I miss the early 2000s when they really played hard at all star . I just think the game as a whole is flashier now Caitlin shoots from 4 point range regularly gray with the passes the celebrations etc it's the norm now so give us a good game the viewers dropped by 100k when it couldve went up if the game was good and the timeline was all talking about it . You don't waste a chance to sell the game to potential new viewers. The arena looked packed I'm sure some of those people don't watch but just came over from summer league to give it a chance but why would they be motivated to come back after that . Hopefully next year is better
I don’t understand why they feel like they can do this when the masses are just starting to buy in and even for those that hadn’t watched all season they probably watched allstar and they pretty much showed a bad commercial a great game could’ve done a lot I remember great all star games growing up you don’t need 0 defense to do special plays Caitlin shoots from 4 on a regular within the game that’s why a player is an all star because against high level of resistance they are still suppose to be super
I couldn’t agree more with all your points here! I attended the All Star Game and although I understand it’s supposed to be fun and entertaining and the players don’t want to risk injury, I wish there was more defense and effort. I go to most Aces home games, and those games are tremendously better than this All Star one was. I was pretty disappointed. I was hoping that maybe in the second half they would start trying. Then when that didn’t happen, I was hoping they would in the 4th. I have no interest in ever actually going to an All Star game again.
Wasted everybody’s time we could’ve been putting family and friends on finally convincing them to watch and they did because everybody knows allstar is the best of the best and they gave us that smh
Everybody has opinions, and everybody will never be satisfied - you said yourself that of those in attendance they seemed to be cool with the way things unfolded - I would suggest that you avoid watching the festivities next year
You enjoyed the game? And yes the in person experience in many things can Trump tv the gathering of those that love the game the pop ups the parties Vegas in general summer league was right there networking a chance to meet players . Baseball is trash on tv for me but in person it's cool

The games have no meaning at all...the all-star skills of the players didn't show up in the game at all.

Yeah i just remember when all star games were competitive I can’t do this new era of it hopefully if enough people speak out things will change
