I'm so glad you decided to do this type of video. It was so fun! I listen to your videos when my family is out of the house, so it feels like I'm not alone in a too quiet house. I've learned so much from you and the thoughtful, intentional way you live your values. You are so relatable. Thank you for sharing all that you do with us.
Thank you for sharing your story. I can so relate to how you describe your condition. I don't have M.S. I have chronic fatigue and chronic pain along with arthritis. I feel like someone has unplugged me. I'm a RN who is retired on disability and I would tell my doctor that I felt like I had bone cancer. This was over 25 yrs ago. I'm still here trying to do my best. I don't fake being sick, I fake being well.
I so enjoy your videos Elin and I have such respect for you and how you're dealing with everything. Also, as a fellow Sigur Ros fan (also my favorite band!) I'm so happy for you and your husband that you got to go to another concert of theirs. I've seen them live as well and I know exactly the kind of feeling you described here. Honestly it's the same for me every time I just put on one of their songs (like Hoppipolla), so yes, the power of art is real and it can lift us up and move us to the core. 🥰 Sending a hug your way.
Aw Vera! This means so much coming from you! I admire all the work you do, and I’m honored you take your time to watch any of my videos! I do remember that you are a big fan of Sigur Ros! They played Hoppipolla in the concert and it was fantastic. Definitely the happiest song out there :) seriously thanks for the comment, and the hug 🥰
Music affects the soul. See KJV Philippians 4 v 8. Whatever is lovely etc. think on these things. I am a sensitive soul and music & their words affect me profoundly. Have a great day. God bless. x
I had to giggle a bit at 12:28 (not at your situation, of course, but mine). I have this happen every time I look in the mirror. I am almost 65 and yet feel 35 inside. I always wonder who the heck that old woman is staring back at me!
I appreciate you sharing how you are feeling, and how difficult it is on the inside. It helps me remember that what looks easy, sometimes is far from that. It makes me feel less alone. Even if you record with no one around, when you put it on yet, it feels to me like a meeting with a dear friend
I’m can relate to everything you say about your chronic illness. I have a mitochondrial disease, and the chronic fatigue makes me feel exactly how you describe it, plus I also have diabetes, hearing loss, and digestive issues, all caused by the Mito. I also went through a period of grieving my former healthy self, and occasionally have to cycle through that grief again. Chronic illness is such a rollercoaster of emotions that go along with the physical symptoms. Music really lifts my mood too, along with other forms of art; literature, sculpture, and ballet. My dog is a great source of happiness as well x
Thank you for voicing what i cannot. The mourning is real. The shell of a human i am emotionally and physically needs some art healing. Appreciate you and your efforts, you inspire me and i dont know how you do it. First time ive commented on anyones youtube video. Love from Western Australia.
Elin, I sure enjoyed this visit with you- that’s what it felt like! Congratulations on Pearl!👍❤️ You are one of the most encouraging people - I got diagnosed in May. I always appreciate the MS comments and as a minimalist I really appreciate the way minimalism helps. I’ve been struggling for decades- I was originally diagnosed as chronic fatigue syndrome but this is intensified since the flare in May. At least now I have a diagnosis- and people still greet me with oh but you look so good. Feels dissonant with my own self awareness. At least now I don’t have to launch into a long explanation for why I look fine but can’t function the way I look. People would either work on encouraging me to try harder as if I was lazy or they’d rack their brains for the latest herbal cure their auntie took that “cured” her. Most people seem to understand that MS is “real”, at least more than the ones who understood CFS. Especially medical staff. I’ve been doubling down on my organization and minimizing but on my own couch. I call it commercial break cleaning- I started 24 years ago when this began. I’d watch a favourite show and clean in the commercial breaks. Now I enjoy YT, and take 5 minute breaks to do something physical then back to resting and planning for however long it takes till I can do it again. Hugs and a high five 🖐️
Gratitude is the one spiritual and psychological practice I've always found immensely helpful. Art, in all forms is, as you stated, rejuvenating. Lovely new car! You may want to look into energy-healing, i.e. Reiki. Our bodies' energies or lack there of, guide energy healers to the sources of "dis-eases." Wishing well on all things. 🙏
Aww SO happy for you! Nice to see you all giddy and happy instead of kinda serious and helping everyone else out for a change! It's nice when you get a new car and can enjoy its special perks. Just very happy for you!
I homeschool my kids. Originally we set up our dining room as a classroom, but as the years have gone by we find ourselves couch learning instead. No guilt!
You are Adorable! I love your new car and it made my heart happy to see the playful side of you in riding your car seat back and forth! Also your fun vacation shots and you with your husband enjoying your favorite concert. Praying 🙏 for your MS to be in remission and recovery! I am standing on God’s word for complete and total healing! Have a blessed week pretty lady! I enjoyed seeing this type of video of you.
Wow you talking about how you feel and what you see in the mirror. I have never felt understood. Thank you so much for sharing that. I live chronically Ill. Neurological issues and chronic pain. It is such a weird thing to have that disconnect between those things and silently battling with that! ❤ ugh 😩 mourning the old me and the shame and being angry. I appreciate you so much!
Glad your feeling happier. That’s the worst thing about neurological conditions. They rarely show symptoms and people don’t get it. I have trigeminal neuralgia. Which can send dozens of electric shocks down my face. Also have type 2 so one side of my face burns 24 hours a day. Yet people will say. Oh your face looks fine ! Lovely to see you being so positive ❤
Thank you for sharing how you feel and what we can`t see on the outside. You spoke my mind when you described all that and made me feel less alone. Wish you all the best
Your enthusiasm for the car is cute! I can relate… I drive a very tiny car and loved my first one I had for 10 yrs so much I bought a slightly newer one and I was so thrilled - electric windows! aircon! a few more horsepower! Now that car has been in my life for 10 yrs, too, and is still going strong… 😊🚙
Beautiful you! Very nice car! Excellent editing! Great looking lunch! Thank you for sharing your health situation. I can relate. And helps you be authenticated through RUclips. And compelled me to watch through to the end. Enjoyed!
Congratulations on your new car. Pearl is lovely. Enjoy. We are moving into a new house next week. Most of our things have been in storage. I'm looking forward to unpacking and decluttering!
Great video! That’s so exciting that you were gifted a newer car! Our last car was a gift from my partners grandfather 10ish years ago and we JUST bought a second car this summer. That car was such a blessing. That’s lucky that your parents were downsizing when your car was becoming unreliable. ❤ Couch work guilt is such a funny thing. I’ve never had or heard of that before 😂 If I’m working from home I’m working from couch… or else my dogs are yelling at me to go to the couch… so it’s really the only place I can be productive.
Oh. My. Word. I dont know if I've ever found someone I relate to more than you. What you were saying about looking young and healthy and feeling much older...
This is so crazy to hear. I just gave my son my Subaru Legacy vehicle on Friday. I don't drive much anymore, so I let him have this, and I only use it on Tuesdays and Thursdays. It's a 2011 and only has 40,000 miles on it. Like I said, I didn't drive much. He is so thankful for the help.
Omg I love your car!!! Congratulations 🎉 I’m so sorry for all you have to go through. Thanks for sharing. My husband has started with dementia and I am a mess. Like you I have a thousand things to be thankful for and I really am. He’s still here thank the Lord. But I feel like my life is over now and things will never ever be as they were and I cry daily. Wish there was a way to help this, but haven’t found it. Living in fear of loosing him is not living. Anyway thank you for this wonderful video. ❤
I really enjoyed this video and appreciated your thoughts throughout, and hope you'll make more "informal" videos in the future. I also loved how you immediately had a name for your car, I did the same when I got my pre-loved car 5 years ago, I named her Brew as she reminded me of a creamy coffee drink with her metallic brown exterior and light beige interiors..😊 Congratulations and hope you find more new features to enjoy!
I loved this vlog and hearing your heart on many things in your life. Your description of how the concert impacted you brought tears to my eyes! I think you have a great attitude to life and are coping so well with the tough hand you've been dealt health wise. Please don't beat yourself up for feeling frustrated with your limitations at times -you are grieving the loss of the life you envisaged you would have and what you would be able to do. When an illness is invisible, it is even harder because many people don't understand what you're going through, which can be very isolating. So happy for you getting your new car - enjoy it!
Hmm fatigue & Depression is going hand in hand. With Corona I was in that trip. We find a way out...with the new car!!!!! 🌬️🚗 Gute Fahrt! And thank U, I m one of your follower/in and absolutley behind you. I Like U because you are so intelligent & helpfull & sweet! And have a good time for the rest of your day!!!
Congratulations on the car Elin! It's so much smarter to purchase a used car instead of a new car. (A new car depreciates thousands of dollars the moment you drive it off the lot). I know how you you feel about having a chronic disease. I know I feel that my outside should match my inside❤. I can identify with the fatigue...yes, sometimes I am so wiped out, brushing my teeth seems like a monumental task. But I tell myself tomorrow is another day that may be better. Thanks for the great videos, and take care of yourself. ❤
Loved this vlog, thanks for it ! I follow you since the beginning, you're so courageous, you can look at you in the mirror and what you see (beauty :) ) can be a force and motivation for the inside. Take care, Lynne (from Paris, sorry for my english haha)
Thanks for the couch working comment! I love my desk and having the option but I get so much more into the work when I am working from my couch 🙈 Thanks for making me feel less alone 🥰
Loved this vlog. I love all you shared. And I totally relate to up leveling transportation! So exciting! And I just started making my own coleslaw with cabbage, carrot, a bit of tomato and a touch of sour cream. Yum. I wish you the Best of Beginnings! ❤

A new side of you! Thanks for opening up! Your smile is catching!

You make so many rather complex things seem simple. There's an art to that. You are processing loss...so sad times and conquering happy times!
Glad your getting a new reliable car.
Art is like vitamines to me too. Love that you brought this perspective!
