I use alcohol and peroxide with about 10 drops of tea tree oil and top off with distilled water- it’s my absolute favorite cleaner/shower cleaner spray ever.
Store cards are a waste of money, but used correctly a credit card can be a useful tool. As long as the balance is paid off before the interest is added they’re very helpful 👍🏻
Just happens to come across your channel a few days ago and absolutely love it!! Transitioning into minimalism and your topics are super helpful. I’m glad I found you!!!!
Hi! I just discovered your channel and I’m a new subscriber. I just wanted to let you know that there is a reason why hydrogen peroxide is always sold and stored in opaque dark containers. It’s because when the hydrogen peroxide reacts with the light, bubbles get released and after the bubbles are released you end up with plain water. So storing hydrogen peroxide in a clear container is essentially wasting money, because you just paid for hydrogen peroxide and storing it as plain water.
Cool tips! I love mason jars. I store almost everything I can in them...it’s difficult moving away from plastic bc even natural organic products are packaged in the stuff...
I've been binge watching your videos all morning!! I'm obsessed with you and your videos now!! You give SOOOOO many useful tips and tricks on things I would never think of!! Thank you for these videos!! :)
I love your outfit in that video! The top is beautiful! 💫 To use vinegar as a cleaner is very effective! And is so much better for the environment. And cheaper. 🌧
Thank you for defending the standard credit card. Maybe for people that don't have money or aren't good with money, but there is a smart way to use it and you want good credit history. I pay my credit card every month. I use my credit card like a debit card because I spend what money I have.
There is nothing wrong with having a credit card. You just have to pay it in full at the end of the month, you just have to be disciplined. It is also good to have a credit card to build your credit history, in case you want to buy a house some day and need to apply for a mortgage. If you have nothing to show on your credit report you cannot get a mortgage.
Great video! I also make my own laundry detergent. I love it and it really cleans my clothes and I save money. I got the recipes from Pinterest as well as RUclips.
I feel like you can show and teach us so much about your minimalist lifestyle. I would love to see vids about cleaning (products and method), makeup collection ( you may have already shown it, I haven’t watched that tutorial yet), food shopping budgeting, feminine care, hair and skin care, a house tour.. keep doing what your doing, it’s great.
I just started using white vinegar for cleaner after watching this video. It really take cleaning to another level!!! Cleans soooo better and it's not that vinegar smelly as some people say.
You are so right on about the mason jars! I've had a vacuum sealer for years and saved so much money since I've been using it. Haven't owned an electric can opener for years. Don't use much canned goods, so hand opener is good. I need to read up on making my own cleaners. Looking forward to your next video.
Have you considered "zero waste" lifestyle...since you were talking about glass containers...if you buy your food in bulk in reusable bags...instead of box cereals etc.
She's more "zero waste" than many "zero waste"rs just by being vegan, as most pollution and deforestation is from the annual agriculture industry. No need for a label, she's doing well.
Use "Bill Pay" method thru the bank for check payments. Manual can openers are small & good to have when electricity is out or the electric on burns out. Credit card method is good but you can transfer funds from one acct to another online. Bank apps are remarkable.
This is a Great video Kyra! I store my dry goods in mason jars as well. I enjoy seeing the different textures and colors. I'm glad your doing more videos and your channel is really growing 😁👍🤩!!
For the wardrobe, you can keep it simple even if you like colors and prints. My favorite colors are blue/greens, pinks, and purples and I like tie dye and floral prints. So all of my skirts, jeans, pants capris are neutrals (black white or denim) so everything goes together. All shoes are neutral colors too.I'm sure it still makes my wardrobe bigger than yours, but it is possible to keep it under control. Just a tip for people who like to mix in colors. The credit card rewards are great! My bank credit card has gives cash back or gift cards for rewards. It's awesome!
I put everything on jars too, it really seems to make everything last longer. And I also remove labels, idk how to explain but having to look at so many words repeatedly kind of exhausts my brain somehow 😅
Thank you for this pretty girl. Love your braid! Very helpful video. I've cut out harmful cleaning products as well & I've been making my own 😊❤️️😊 Love your videos. Keep em coming. :-) :-)
Great tips, aiming to declutter at the moment as totally agree with you, less stuff means less stress. I am interested in making my own cleaning products as I thnik in the long run it is a more cost effective thing to do as well as better for the environment.
Hi Kyra, thank you so much for your helpful videos and content. I really appreciate your straightforward and friendly approach to simplifying life. Ps do you know the name of the paint on the walls in your bedroom? I've just bought an apartment in Ireland and I'm looking at colours to paint our bedroom that will be calming. Yours seems really nice. All the best, Maeve
Hi Kyra, great suggestions. Just keep in mind a few duplicates are necessary such as during emergencies. A hand crank can opener is invaluable during hurricane season 😉 but I just keep it with the hurricane supplies and not in with my everyday kitchen items. I LOVE taking labels off. I tried that as an experiment with the few items in my bedside table and it’s amazing how much neater it looks and feels.
I do the same with credit cards however not cash back but points and use the points to get gift cards for presents for birthdays or Christmas. I always make sure to pay it off right away!
If you pay it in full every month and have a card with no annual charge, then there are no hidden charges. You just have to make sure to read what you're signing up for, and then to make sure to keep your purchases within your budget.
Kyra...please never mix “hydrogen peroxide and vinegar together in one container. The resulting chemical, peracetic acid, can harm you when mixed together this way if you accidentally create a strong concentration in this fashion.”
Hi kyra! Another lifehack regarding credit cards, the sapphire card from chase does cash back yes, but it’s the best for travel points! I’ve bought flights, booked a hotel and got a rental car FOR FREE just using my points! Just had to budget for food on my trip! big hack that I thought I’d share! Going on a vacation next year and used my points on my flights :)
For those of you who are weary of getting a credit card. I got pre-approved for my first credit card which was offered by my bank by simply having an acct with them for about a year. So just ask your bank if you're pre-approved that way you dont have to apply for one and risk getting rejected.
I wish my credit card worked that way, I get cash back rewards as well but I am not able to put into into a savings account, it can only be redeemed/used for paying credit card debts. And what sucks most is that I have to wait until it reaches a certain amount to even be able to use the cash back amount
I would like to know more about reusable cleaning sponges. I find it funny though that you can buy peroxide in the US just like that in a regular shop.
angelfoodcake1979 it's diluted, but yeah we use it to clean boo-boos often. I love that in the US we can buy all sorts of supplements, herbs, vitamins and over-the-counter meds. I didn't realize how good we had it until I tried to buy some basics in Canada. But it is great that in Europe you can just chat with a pharmacist and get antibiotics.
2% cash back when there has been studies that people spend more on a credit card. Forbes article: A number of studies have indicated that people do spend more when paying with a credit card. In 2001, Drazen Prelec and Duncan Simester of MIT published the results of their research in Marketing Letters. They found shoppers spend up to 100% more when using their credit card to pay instead of cash.
You know your bank has an app you can download and transfer funds between your accounts. They also numerous locations and products that you get cash back on.
People where being very rude and hateful on that particular video so I had to shut the comments down. I do not need any negativity in my life or own my channel. Sorry
I bought a 2 pack of washable sponges at Bed Bath and Beyond per your recommendation and the first time I used one it got a tear in it. The other one from the pack seems to be doing ok so far and I haven't washed either one. Should I just take them back and exchange them?
I would not recommend getting a credit card for paying bills. Using a credit card for bills or any consistent purchasing can contribute to being dependent on money that is not yours and that has to be paid back. Using a credit card to pay bills creates more bills to be paid which is the debt you will accumulate from using the credit card. The cash back is something you get as a result of creating debt and is a marketing tool banks use to make debt sound not as burdensome as it really can be.
For me it is not about being able to pay off credit card balances, it is about not creating them in the first place. It is about a mentality and lifestyle of living and using what you earn not living off of borrowed money to pay back later. If a person is living within their realistic financial ability with their earned income you pay with real income and eliminate the extra and unnecessary middle burden of debt. For me it does not make logical sense to create debt which is a bill, legal agreement and obligation to pay back a business when all that can be avoided if one just uses their own money to pay for their lifestyle. I understand and do not expect most people to understand and or agree of living a debt free or at least trying to go into that direction, unfortunately a significant amount of people in American society appear to be comfortable living in debt and relying on borrowed money for the lifestyle they created but cannot afford.
lovetotravel780 i get what u mean totally like i thought of never getting a credit card ever cause like i’ve seen so many times people around me go into debt cause they cant pay back the amount they used and then the interest stacks up. But as my parents informed me and another comment actually states, it’s good to have a credit card so u could build ur credit history. Having good credit history will allow u to eventually buy a house. Of course that means ur gonna have to be smart with ur money and avoid the temptation of using the credit card for things u know u cant truly afford, but if u do it smart it’ll help u in the long run.
There seems to be a misconception among certain types of people that a person needs a credit history and a certain score to buy a house. You don’t have to acquire debt to get a house. A credit history is simply a debt history that shows a person has a pattern of acquiring debt and how they pay it off or not. If a person has enough for a down payment or enough cash saved they don’t need a bank to give them a loan that will probably be for decades to come. The mentality that a person needs to have a credit history which is really a debt history to go into more debt for a house is ridiculous. That story has been told and sold for so long people have become dependent on getting a house, car and more by going into debt. There are people who actually have what they choose without going into debt. Lastly everyone may not even want a house and all the responsibilities that come with it.
@@lovetotravel780 I highly suggest you read literally ANY personal finance book. You will not be able to get a mortgage without a credit history. The only way you will be able to buy a house is if you pay it in full cash not if you have the down payment only. Everyone else will have the down payment and a credit history so what intelligent bank will loan to you?
I don’t need a bank (intelligent or not) to loan me money for a house. I highly suggest you do some more research and learn that everyone doesn’t need a bank to give them a loan and doesn’t live at the mercy of the bank or other creditors. Hopefully you can step away and out of what sounds like a herd mentality of believing in the long told and sold myth of debt. I guess it is hard for most people like you and others to imagine not being able to acquire anything without debt. Some people maybe like yourself being in debt captivity for so long makes it very hard or impossible to believe in any other way of life specially debt free.
I use alcohol and peroxide with about 10 drops of tea tree oil and top off with distilled water- it’s my absolute favorite cleaner/shower cleaner spray ever.

I started cleaning with vinegar & water about 6 months ago because of you !
i love it ♡

Your videos are soooo realistic , helpful, and affordable
I always keep a spare manual can opener because I’ve had them break part way thru opening a can. Lol

I reuse glass jars that have have had sauces in this way is low impact . The labels can be removed and great cheap storage . Just saying
The salsa I like to get actually comes in Mason jars. And it's a store brand.
Love this video as always! Keep up the good work. You inspire me
I just found your channel. Keep doing your great videos! We need more minimalists in this world :)
Great video. I am chemically sensitive and your DIY cleaning products are the best.
So not related to the video but you’re so beautiful.
I though the same thing that's why I clicked on her video lol ❤️

I love cleaning with vinegar.
Very smart advice and info my wife and I used the credit card idea it works great free money is the best money
Yeah capsule wardrobe👏👌.....
I am a minimalist too. Thanks for your awesome videos. 😄
Hey Kyra! Loving all your videos!!! Would love to see a seperate video on credit cards. An if possibly which one you would recommend. Thank you!
Your so beautiful ( you remind me of Sunny Leone a little ). Just came across your videos.. your honesty and uniqueness is so admirable.. thank you.

Love cleaning with vinegar as well. Can you do a tutorial on houseplants? What kind of plants do you have?
Hi Kyra, thank you so much for your helpful videos and content. I really appreciate your straightforward and friendly approach to simplifying life. My clothes colour is white black and grey and dark colour jeans
Loved this!
Perfection.
Make a video showing your mason jar storage plsssss!!! What you store in them and just to show sizes and all that :)
I do the same with credit cards however not cash back but points and use the points to get gift cards for presents for birthdays or Christmas. I always make sure to pay it off right away!
You should make a video on that credit card hack separately. I am confused . May be u don't know about the hidden charges.
If you pay it in full every month and have a card with no annual charge, then there are no hidden charges. You just have to make sure to read what you're signing up for, and then to make sure to keep your purchases within your budget.
You also have to make sure there's no annual fee, or else every year you'll pay for the priviledge of just having that card!
Do you write an expiration date somewhere on the Mason jars for the items you store in them?
Kyra...please never mix “hydrogen peroxide and vinegar together in one container. The resulting chemical, peracetic acid, can harm you when mixed together this way if you accidentally create a strong concentration in this fashion.”
I love saving money 🙌🙌🙌🙌

love the video! I am a new subscriber. You say the same thing at the beginning as Sarah Nourse
Thanks so much for these important hacks!
Good tips!
I just subscribed! Cant wait to watch all of your videos!
Hey! Love your videos. New subscriber.

Hello beautiful. I just found your channel and I love it. Do you think you can do What I ate during the day. Please.

Is a win only if you don't carry a balance.
Good tips what credit card do you have? I wouldn't mind trying that.
With Amazon prime you get 5% back off of Amazon and Whole Foods purchases, 2% at restaurants, gas stations and drug stores & 1% everywhere else.
Do you get your eyebrows threaded?

Kyra, would you consider doing a video on your mason jar usage?
Simple tips, but super effective. I gave all of my duplicate items to my mom 😏
I dont live in America so the thought of a credit card sounds strange to me, but it seems normal over there. I would never get that.
Can you do a video on vegan grocery shopping on a budget?

Yeah but she doesnt though
Yes, what credit card you have so that i can begin that way of paying bills :)

Hi! I love your videos! What is a capsule wardrobe?
Hi where did you get your desk?
💜💜
Love your channel x
Thank you 💕
never mix vinegar and H2O2 (hydrogen peroxide)
I wish I could use the vinegar hack but, I hate the scent. It makes me nauseous! 😓
Morgan J add essential oils to the mixture like peppermint or lavender
as always great video
💚👍
Lol 😂 sooooooo comments here but not on the “ how to live comfortably on a minimum wage” mmmm

I understand i don't want any
Good for u?
