Yeah, that was a weird one. (and it wasn't at 2am.) And the new track manager taking the occasional joy ride was just damned odd -- sans helmet or any other safety gear.
The duff volvo was getting worse every time it was shut off. I was the first driver; it would shift a little weird but was predictable enough to easily get it to 80. Hours later, in my second go, it didn't want to down shift, took a full lift to get it to upshift, and it was always going +/- two gears. (way too low, or way too high) Roger messed with the switches none of the rest of us can reach to get it into "snow" mode -- then it doesn't gear down pretty much at all. Clutch your rosary and never use the brakes. (A skill I teach at HPDEs. Someday you're going to be in a race and only have 3rd gear, and/or unreliable brakes. Or 3 out of 4 cylinders... Or at NCM in a 4000lb mercedes diesel with 60HP -- I manged to get it to 60.2mph) I love (to hate) 24hr races. I got out of the car around 2am, mooched food from Terminal Confused, and then as Craig was the only one awake (next driver), helped with their driver change. [maybe I've been doing this for too long?]

Effin 'Ell. I could have really used some clean CRX parts. Would have gladly donated lemons-spec parts in their place. Also, what is the treadwear on the MuchoMachos? At least with RoadStones you know what you're getting; stoned.
I used to drive a 79 Century. Great car, tons of body roll, comfy couch seats, and the worst transmission on the planet. The 90s Centuries followed that same formula I think.
I have a 90's one with the 4t65 trans and it is fantastic, after 160,000 miles of trouble free operation I modified the 3.8L to make well over 500hp, and the stock trans is still holding up today with over 1000 passes at the drag strip, 3 new engine bottom ends and at least a dozen exploded pistons, I got one of the few good ones lol!
Mine had a good engine, loved cruising at around 75 to 80 on the highway. The trans was made from pot metal and prayers. Reverse broke in the first one at 50K. So I had a rebuilt trans put it, that one ended having the same issue. It was also turd brown with metal flakes.
No discount currently avaliable on them, but check out those Mucho Machos from Cosmo Tires a 2:55. (This is Cosmo Racing Team Captian Bob and I support this message)
My Fox Body Rustang is such a moneypit. I love hate it but that comment was too much and I am SOOOOO offended. That's not a fox body it's an SN95. Much less rusty and generally much less crappy.
They usually take 5 seconds to mention the winners. I dont know why they were not mentioned. The winners are downplayed. The themes, awsome fixes, Sportsmanship and Class C cars are celebrated.
@@jfbeam yes he did. More than once. I was standing in the hot pits when it happened, watching gas and driver changes. The volvo flipped when it was 150 yards away from the pits. I think that maybe the red mustang with black poka dots clipped the volvo. The volvo slid sideways until he ran out of road. When the tires hit the lawn, the rims grabbed the dirt and chucked the volvo into the air. It went over at least twice before it stopped. The driver of the volvo was unhurt. I dont know who was driving the red mustang in that crash.
I think it went 2.5 times. I happened to be by the pit wall getting ready to go into our car when it happened. I didn't see the initial impact but everyone pointed and when I looked at the kink it was just rolling over. Great image to have in your head as you hop into your car for your first ever race stint...
Yes, it was about 2.5 times fully over. There was some video of it from the "cheatohs" mustang that hit the volvo in the side right at the kink sending it off track, but the gopro in the volvo malfunctioned and didn't catch any video.
I love the 24 hour races!! Bring one to the Northeast!
That 'crackhead' was hilarious.

Look out Yokohama! Next year we will bring Glow in the Dark Mucho Machos

This editing is hilarious
Woo made the thumbnail! Glad the wrapup finally got posted. Enjoyed it, even if the turd wasn't measurably faster.

The '88 F150 I talked to you guys about a couple months ago finally runs.
SOON. The "American Terror" Technical truck will be tearing up the track.
Been looking forward to this.... 😁
If? If?? We will bring the lights, more 24hrs it's butterrible and Hella sweet at the same time!
This! Keep the 24! It's like a once in a lifetime experience you can repeat!
Florida man invades track and Florida man racing with Corvette magazine and I'm only 1/4 of the video deep. Good times.
This was a good one!
Did you leave out the winner of most laps?
Did the sound at the end of this one disappear?
Yup. Guessing the background song was copywronged.
Is there a discount for Yokohama tires? We need some for our rotary domination machine!
No discount currently avaliable on them, but check out those Mucho Machos from Cosmo Tires a 2:55.

Dude: "Whats my safeword!??!"
Cop: "Get your ankles up to your taint!"
Dude: "Damn man, i'm not in pilates!"
Hilarious, thanks, may be crazy enough to try this. Wow.... Lol...lol
Do you typically talk about race/class winners in these? Also, Grim Reaper Racing drives an SN95 mustang not a fox. Mustang fanboiz to war!

An SN95 is just a Fox with lipstick.
The parallel race in CO also didn’t have any discussion about the 24hr ABC winners.
@@lorinmueller4102 More like a fox in drag!
No mention of the rollover? huh...
I know. Maybe because there was no video of it
Did he go all the way over? When I got to the kink, it was on the door. The first hour of this race was very interesting.

"...in the back waters of South Carolina..."
Take it from a lifelong resident, THAT'S MOST OF THE STATE!
I'm a glutton for punishment and would love to enter a 24 hour race at The Ridge!
Noooooo! I missed the race near me!!!
The G6 was surprisingly fast..
IF ?! I need my time hahaha
That was NOT a foxbody mustang, that ugly thing was a SN95!!!!!
