In this excerpt from our Learn Adobe Photoshop CS5 by Video, author Scott Citron takes a closer look at this topic, demonstrating how he took a photo with Saint Peter's Square in the background, and replaced that background with a lovely square from of photo of a town in Italy's Lake District. Along the way, Scott shows you how you can use the Quick Selection tool to create a Layer Mask, and then clean up your selection using the Refine Mask dialog box.
Anyone who wants to know how to add more than two pics.
1. Go to file.
2. Go to scripts
3. Click "Load Files into Stack"
and then select the images you want.
To add pic to layer: Open new layer, then once you have new layer open go up to FILE and click OPEN. This is were you add your pic of background. Now you will see two tabs, your main pic and your back ground pic. Pick your back ground tab and go to quick selection tool and select the whole background pick, copy or ctrl V this pic once its copied click back on you main pic tab, create a new layer and paste to this layer. If pic is to small right click and free transform. Hope this helps!
At last I've found a video which is simple to follow. Very good stuff !!
This is probably the one and only photoshop video that I actually understood, your dads really cute, thanks heaps for the video xx

Hey thxxx I mean i had tried a lot of using new layers but it didn`t work but right after i saw your video i was able to do it. lol
Thxxxxxx again
@matkechik You open the 2 images that u want. You will have 2 tabs in your photoshop. Then u go to second tab and pres Ctrl+A and the image will be selected. Then press Ctrl+C. Then go to the first tab and press Ctrl+V. After that you will have a Layer with the image u want!
to get another layer to be used for the background or foreground simply drag another picture over the one that is already opened. Do not drag beneath the first layer you already have but right over the opened picture. You can drag it from the opened bridge or mini bridge. The most important part this video is missing here is to explain its viewers how to get these two layers in there. Plus, they do not say a word that they are actually using smart objects technique and there are also other ways.
Great vid, I always used the magic wand tool and came out well or polyag in high zoom but this is so much faster... thanks
tnx so much... its fast and easy.... thumbs up
thanx man this was a bigg help...
Thank you!!! Very helpful :)
@bboyzuel All you have to do, well first you have your first photo opened right? then ctrl O, like the normal way of opening photos, in order for you to see them drag the tab like thing of the photo until the two photos are side by side.
This guy is awsome.
I have combed through a million videos and really love the speed and the explanations you give in yours. They are by far the best. I have a problem with the selection tool though. When I follow exactly what you do here, My line does not stay close to the outline of my character and it soon just snaps to the border. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. PS. I also like the way you tell the key shortcuts too. thanks.
great example very helpful and thank you very much

Is there a way to configure the lightning, making it look even more real and convincing that, for example your dad, is actually standing in the streets of italy.
Use the place command : File then place then choose ur picture
Watching this for the first time, paused at 1:44, peanuts in left hand mouse in the right, mouth open, inner voice saying "WHAT THE FUCK JUST HAPPENED!!!". Mouth closed, back to relality, starting to chew again, resume video!!
The most important part this video is missing here is to explain its viewers how to get these two layers in there,
