I never understood tho, why Ragnar wanted to die so badly that he gave King Aella everything he ever wanted ? I get that he knew they would avange for him, but why sail to your own death ?
It’s the fact he wanted revenge, and the rest of everyone said no. So he improvised. If he had brought armies, which had said no, he’d had no reason to die.
It's because Ragnar knew the only way to TRULY unite all the viking tribes was through the disrespect of killing a legend like Ragnar. Viking tribes were often in quarrels and wars. But for a foreign power to kill Ragnar would unite them all to take revenge not only for Ragnar, but for their entire culture. He was a pillar of that culture. And he was right in the end. Genius move, just like the fake death to enter Paris.
Also, at this point, Ragnar was a bit of a wandering madman. He didn't have as much sway as he once did.
@@roms_hut3639 Good point.
Hated the way they portrayed Christians as clueless fools one minute, and bloodthirsty, blaspheming savages the next.
The last kingdom is a more accurate portrayal of the Saxon Christians.
They were clueless fools. Killing people in the name of the lord and conquering lands in the name of the lord...
@@fernandogarza4231 Is that any different from literally every other people in human history, who by the way, did more and not less than simply killing and conquering?
@@fernandogarza4231 Not once in history have Christians CURCIFIED SOMEONE in the name of their Lord. That's blasphemy and goes against everything they stand for, I'm not saying there weren't bad apples who used God as a front for power and control, but none of them stooped that low.
@@fernandogarza4231 I believe that is called history.
Ivar & Ragnar for me in the whole vikings series🔥💪🏼
Oh nooo . Nd he sounded like such a sweet yet manly person too.
Ivar made them pay
Pay for what? They invaded England without Provocation and at the end the Viking paid for it.
@@Aaronreacher yo you did not watch the show. No one ever needs to be provoked when expanding. What are you talking about? I’m referring to the characters mocking him. You wanna talk real 1st century history? I’m all for it
@@HonorKnight Bro vikings didn't even exist in the 1st century
@@HonorKnight Also this show is extremely historically inaccurate

And now ragnar watches from heaven with his best friend
Ima rewatch this series again. One of the greatest series imo
Why king in the North is sooo badasss❤❤❤
Those who understand what I mean.....
Like....❤❤❤
The Saxons should have slaughtered both right then and there for what the vikings had done to them for generations
Fuck the Saxons
They did, manny times, it goes vice verce, or in circles, the magnificence with the stranght to stop it is on the other hand rearly witnessed, also there is not much booty in it
Only seen some of Vikings and a lot of shorts. Now this makes total sense why Ivar became so ruthless. He had a revenge plan and wouldn’t let anyone stop him.
Really enjoyed this program. It was great.!!
"Season"...?
S4
That's not what I meant... The guy yells "seize him!", and the caption reads "SEASON!". I had a good laugh out of that.😂
