It is nice but not super nice - prefer the Synthe
I think that it looks great. Helmets have come a long way from some of the the original 'mushroom' shapes, whilst incorporating all of the latest safety technologies as well.
The technology and shape are nice, the GCN logo and colours...not so much.
Very nice. I do like the ones oli and manon wore doing the hill climb challenge on the €50 bike 👍
It’s super nice but there’s no pony tail hole (essential feature for some of us!). Presumably this will prevent the return of Ollies mullet though so maybe that’s a positive rather than a negative after all?
It was already a sharp helmet, but with the GCN customization its next level. Should go beautifully with the GCN kit! Very sweet.
Coolest helmet ever, a Giro adorned with GCN colors and graphics. All winners should be obligated to attempt the hour record or something cool. Or at least wear it in the coffee shop.

I'm all for new tech that ups the safety game, but my 2010 Giro Prolight helmet is still 210g, still the sexiest lid Giro ever produced and still the most comfortable "disappear on your head" helmet I've ever owned a decade later.
Giro should just sell a GCN helmet as part of their range. I'd buy one.
$250 and comes complete with no visor. When the sun is low, and sunglasses don't help, it can be quite difficult to see potholes and other obstructions in the road. A visor overcomes that. But to be fair, none of the helmet makers provide a decent visor. I had to make an extension for mine, out of a piece of old inner tube, hot-glued to the visor. It works great! Because Florida is hot, I do my riding in the mornings and evenings when the sun is low.
Bout time you guys got some custom lids. Nice work!
That "GCN" colored Helios would match my 1998 Pinarello perfectly... but the fact that I ride a 22 year old bike says I can't afford to purchase one. LOL
Finally, a giveaway that corresponds to something I actually need. The only question is whether the VaTech helmet lab has tested one yet.
I have an oddly shaped crown of my head, and Giro is one of the only brands at my local bike shop that fits me without any pain.
Ball and socket design -- like my bald head with a skid lid on it. Lovely looking.

This is cool! I have been looking for a new helmet the past weeks and I really want a red and black one to match my bike. I just saw it on their website with a touch of white too. Really awesome.

This one looks sexy, especially the GCN red gradient color on the side bottom part. Nice touch.
I need a new helmet and this seems to be one I could buy, if I don't win it. Had a small accident a few weeks ago where I broke my Synthe which is extremely good and safe (believe me, tested it, my head is still in one piece) and it has those nice vent holes that are perfect to keep your sunglasses when not in use.
My plan was to get another Synthe, for obvious reasons, but the Helios Spherical could be my next helmet :D
My helmet only weighs 225 grams and has a built in LED flashing light (Fnar fnar haha) which means it’s much lighter and safer than that one! Oh, and it only cost a tenner at Lidl. Think I’ll write my name down the side with a marker pen! 🚴🏿♀️🚴🏼♂️💨😉
Lidl and Aldi do good bike stuff. I got bike lights from Aldi in 2016 and they still charge and work.
LOL sitting thinking of buying a new Giro helmet since I just got a pair of their Terraduro mid's and love them. Wait a moment to think before clicking and here is Ollie saying buy a different version.
Could you do a video in the future that compares various brands of helmet and what shape of skulls they fit? I.E. Giro doesn't fit me but Cannondale and Specialized do. Thanks
Been tossing the idea of getting an Aether for some time. Upgrading from my prior Giro. I may have to think about this one more before pulling the trigger.

Sadly Giro sizing still hasn’t changed. The difference between a medium and large is ridiculous. Make a size in between, Giro.
Medium is about 5mm too small for me and large is massive and looks like a mushroom
Probably Ollie can compare the 2 MIPS-systems of Aether and Helios in a future video. I think the Helios has a bit more rotational freedom of movement in the front.
I'd prefer the bulgier Aether for me because I like to be more protected over the forehead and nose, lateral and rear side of the head with protection lower to the neck. Just MHO. 😎

I just saw the Helios earlier this morning. I want one. Coincidentally, I am in the market for a new helmet.
I don't get why Giro (or any other manufacturer) do not shape visors in such way that it (visor) would have "hooks" matching holes and thus it would be possible to attach visor to road helmet. I know there are MTB helmets, but the trend nowadays is to make solid helmet with 3 huge holes in it and call it a MTB helmet (POC started this trend I believe).

Pretty weird timing. Giro introduced this compact road helmet look on the more affordable Syntax and Agilis some years ago and only now they're bringing it to a top-tier helmet? Strange.
How about telling us, what the strap is like, how comfy is it? All that would have been helpful.. However I have just bought one of these and I feel I need to do my own review which wil be a bit more balanced and less arse kissing? 🤔

How is the wind noise? I only ask because my Giro Synth mips is loud over 30 km/hr.

Should be replaced every 2-4 years regardless. The materials wear out as time goes by from sweat, sunlight, etc.
Out goes my plan for getting an Aether or Register, for now. 😂

Hey, I have some questions for my DYI Restoration/upgrade project:
1) Can I put a rear derailleur cable completely in the cable housing from the lever to the derailleur? Or do I have to keep uncovered parts of cable on top tube and seat stay? same question about V-brake cable...
2) will Shimano Sora lever work with Alivio Vbrakes and any 9-speed MTB rear derailleur?
3) do you recall any 26 inch wheels with black braking surface? I didn't find any.

Hate wearing a helmet, I wear Giro and it’s light but I still find like all helmets I’ve owned, it’s uncomfortable and sweaty and don’t get me started on how many time I have stop because something has flown in and is crawling around on my head 🙄

I had bought a different helmet on Amazon at the beginning of this summer for my big headed daughter to wear while bicycling and scootering. ruclips.net/user/postUgkx0ipcYkXV-2YCp_cBN3HLfzR_OoD0HQYx Well it was WAY too big and not adjustable at all. Previously we had really expensive but adjustable helmets from the local bike store and I didn't really want to pay $50 again for another helmet. I searched and was fairly sure from the reviews that this helmet was what I was looking for- and it was! The pads inside are comfortable, the rim in front provides a bit of shade, but most of all for me there is the dial adjuster in the back which allows for a really secure fit on my daughters head. It seems like it will fit for a few years too which makes me even happier! She loves the pattern and I might end up buying another one for her twin sister (who has a much smaller head!)I definitely recommend this helmet. My daughter is 5 but has a big head. Her twin sister could fit in this one as well but it's a bit big.

You realize Giro is owned by a gun company that supports the NRA, right? I don’t think GCN should be affiliated with Giro.
Giro is owned by Vista outdoor and they support NRA(National Rifle association). Several sport shops in USA has stopped selling Giro equipment because of their owners support to NRA. I think you should join the boycott.
