  • Is Giro's new Aries lid the best road, gravel and XC MTB helmet you can buy? It's lighter, cooler, faster than their previous lids and more protective than any helmet the independent Virginia Tech labs have ever tested. Here's the unique tech behind it and a first ride review of how it actually feels.

I have the giro synthe mips, but this would be awesome for hot summer days as I am a sweaty fella.

Helmets have come along way. I remember my 1st one had a lycra cover while I dreamt of owning an Air Attack. When I got a Specialized Sub6 as per Dave Baker I felt very swanky.

The way the sides of the Aeris are shaved away and it sits quite high reminded me a lot of the Sub 6 too! Can't see anyone bringing back the screw together Etto lids though!

Hello, what is your head circumference?

Did you try a light on it? All of the rotational helmets I've tried just wobble like crazy with any sort of light on them for MTB use.

When does this Aris go on sale?. Ive used the Manifest since it came out and its still the lightest and most comfortable helmet Ive had. Just not great at holding sunglasses in tits vents so this new helmet looks great.

You may like to know that you spelled the name of the helmet wrong. It's Aries, not Aeris.

Yep. And I was sure I’d changed the title as soon as Giro pointed it out. Sorry for being a dumbass. Great lid though

Looks like there isn't much room between the ears and the helmet. Problems with some sunglasses?
