      As I have explained elsewhere, it is absurd to have Obi-Wan win at this point. It creates a lot more problems with the canon and the original trilogy. Obi-Wan in the original trilogy wants Vader DEAD. And he trains Luke to confront his father and KILL him. He says it just plainly and over and over in the movies, someone would need to see them again. If he had already beaten him, if he could finish him ... why do with another? Why train a boy to kill his father (very cruel thing) if you could do it? Don't come up with the Jedi code, because Obi-Wan trains Luke to be a Jedi, yet he wants him to kill Vader. And don't even say that Obi-Wan hopes that Anakin is still in Vader, because at the end of the series he calls him Darth, he surrenders to the fact that Anakin is no longer there .. in fact in the original trilogy he will continue on this line, even looking for to concur Luke that there is no trace of his father Anakin! Yoda thinks the same thing. So there's really no excuse, they got it all wrong by letting Obi-Wan win. Getting Vader to win was the most logical thing and to be more faithful to the original story (in fact someone had thought about letting Vader win, too bad he won the front '' the hero must win ''). End.

      If I didn't have Disney+, I'd be happy as a lark that this gem was uploaded.
      However... You probably would never would have had this kind of turnout without someone else's content.
      No. I'm not a "content Nazi". But before you let this go to your head... it wasn't yours to distribute.
      I had to pay to watch this. You're making $ from it, by giving it away. There was a damn good reason why it was taken down.

      @@honestmaster1932 I was almost gonna make an argument, until I re-watched the ROTJ scene, where Obi-Wan say's, "You must face Darth Vader, again." After Luke says that he can't kill his father, Obi-Wan lifts his hands in disappointment, and says, "Then the emperor has already won." That pretty much says it all. Now, I don't mean to split hairs, but... No one EVER actually says, "I want Darth Vader DEAD." But, it does seem lame that Obi-Wan had twice thrown away a golden opportunity to put Vader out of his misery, and spare the galaxy of his nonsense... but couldn't/wouldn't do it, cuz they were BFFs. Yet, Obi was clearly huffy when he expected Vader's kid to do it, and Lukey said, "Uhhhmmm.... that's NOT gonna happen." It would have been funny to see Luke argue with Ben... "Well... how come YOU didn't do it, when you had TWO chances to? Vader didn't have a problem with me. He hated YOU. Remember? Besides... Vader owes me 19 years of back child support, to which I'd like to see."

      I’ve actually heard that Vader was desperately hoping Luke would not turn to the dark side in return of the Jedi, but he believed that Palpatine‘s manipulation was inexorable. I’ve heard at least one person say that when Vader in the Empire strikes back, says that Luke is “just a boy. Obi-Wan can no longer help him,“ he is essentially groveling, silently, begging the emperor, not to do to Luke what he had done to him, because he believed that it was impossible for him to turn back to the light side, even if he wanted to. Similar to how Obi-Wan heard echoes of Anakin/Vader from the past when he was buried under the rocks, I have seen edits of people doing similar things for Vader in the original trilogy, and I could imagine this line from Obi-Wan being among that montage, perhaps making him feel even more hopeless. There are some really good edits out there.

    I want Disney to make a Vader Series where we see him struggling with what he did "killed Padme" internally and also how his own hate towards himself (Anakin) is what leads him more into becoming Darth Vader because as Anakin he relives the pain and suffering of all the loss he has suffered throughout his life. After watching Obi Wan I understand what he means when Vader says, "You didn't kill Anakin Skywalker, I did." Tragically beautiful..The story of Anakin is one of the most emotionally charged stories ever told.

    Throughout the entire Obi-Wan Kenobi series, what was clear was that Darth Vader was fixated on finding his former master so that he could end things himself. It was clear that his hatred for Kenobi ran so deep that he was willing to let Leia and a lot of Force-sensitive refugees go so that he could hunt the Jedi Master. And that was when he believed that he was no longer Anakin.
    Darth Vader hates Obi-Wan Kenobi because, deep inside, he is still Anakin. He is yet to let go of his past as Anakin Skywalker because there are still things tying him to his past. In that regard, Vader wants to kill Kenobi so that he can finally dispel the only thing that ties him to his past as Anakin.
    When Anakin became Darth Vader, all of the people he held dear were either dead or hiding. The list includes Obi-Wan Kenobi and Ahsoka Tano, among others. But the connection he had with these people is what kept him from fully transforming into Darth Vader.
    That is why I believe Sidious himself ultimately failed as a Sith Lord, because he didn’t follow the rule of two when picking an apprentice. He honestly had the perfect one in Maul, and he should e stuck with him and tried to find him after he fell to Obi-Wan because I truly believe that he would’ve been able to succeed him had he finished his training. But no. He wanted Anakin from the beginning for many reasons(read the Darth Plagus story to learn why), but he plotted to turn Anakin to the dark side and that’s where he failed. When choosing an apprentice, you are supposed to find someone who is naturally inclined to the dark side of the force. Anakin wasn’t like that at all. He wasn’t meant to be a Jedi in my opinion. I think he would’ve been the perfect chosen one had he been trained by Qui Gon or been trained as a grey Jedi because a big flaw with the Jedi is a lack of attachments. If he would’ve been able to go down a different path then Sidious never would’ve gotten ahold of him. Darth Bane for example, he never would’ve picked Anakin as his apprentice no matter how powerful he was. He would’ve tried to kill him while he was weak because he understood how the Rule Of Two was supposed to go. Sidious might have been one of if not the strongest Sith Lord to date. However, he was a failed one in my opinion. True Sith don’t have the inner struggles that Anakin/Vader did. They believe completely in the Sith teachings and dark side of the force and that was never Vader.

    • @TTPABUTEJlb
      @TTPABUTEJlb  2 года назад +27

      I agree with almost everything, thanks for the comment!
      You know why Palpatine failed because he got greedy. Could you raise Darth Maul? But he betrayed him and threw him. Could you raise an excellent swordsman and smart Count Dooku? No, he betrayed him. Although the Earl never became a Sith, he never used Wrath, but was as cold-blooded as a Jedi. It's just that Dooku was disappointed in the Jedi because of their long progmatism, because. Dooku was more determined.
      Anakin it was his brilliant idea and his brilliant idea backfired on him. Palpatine did not take into account many factors, tk. his mind was not so clear because of all the intrigues - clouded.
      It was because of affection that Anakin defeated Darth Vader in this and redeemed himself, not Luke, but Anakin defeated himself.

      The nature of the Sith is betrayal, something Dooku knew about but ultimately forgot about in Episode 3 when he was overpowered by Anakin. It was clear to Sidious that Anakin had become more powerful than Dooku and it was time for Sidious to create Vader.
      Sidious even set out to betray Anakin's Vader by replacing him with Luke becoming Vader when he also showed more power as Luke taps into his rage and anger to overpower Vader in Episode 6.
      Sidious was so keen to replace his apprentices when they were defeated by stronger opponents so that Sidious probably couldn't be killed by his apprentice as the Sith way goes.

    • @brianhunter7578
      @brianhunter7578 2 года назад +2

    When I fist saw the fight and the mask partly cutaway !, yuh kind of realise we all wear masks , when we lose that mask , freedom indeed . I loved watching the very first star wars in my school uniform with my twin brother in 1977 in Oden cinema Swansea 🎥 . Went home after that movie 🎥 feeling super excited and wow 🤩

    On the lava planet, we see the death of anakin’s body. Here we see the death of a anakin’s spirit.
    So saddening. Nothing but tears.

      I don't see it as his death I see it as he was imprisoned by Vader because deep down anakin was always still in there but it took luke to unlock that prison and set him free.

    "Anakin is gone,....I'm what remains". - That line says much right there. The chosen one who is broken and crippled in various ways and in great deal amount of pain......and much worse,...he has to live with that.
    "I'm sorry,....I'm sorry Anakin, for all of it". - and Obi-Wan (Ben) expressing his sorrow and feeling bad for Anakin. He felt like he didn't do a great job teaching/nurturing him and trying to put him down onto a right path, but for him to go down the darkside.....he does blame himself for that.

    This scene is very important for the reason that it brings so much emotion to the fact that obi wan makes one final attempt to make amends with his former best friend that he raised and trained and in some ways feels like he let anakin down and doing all this he knows darth vader is not going to come back to the light he's doing this for closure

      I can totally see obi & anakins force ghosts watching those duels like, "wtf! Your disrespecting that lightsaber with those sorry skills! & u, your lightsaber is disrespecting real lightsabers! I mean. Wtf is that?! Do u use 2 extra small crystals on the side? What's the point of a cross guard that can't actually guard??? Don't either of yall go thinking youre skywalkers.... smh"

    Seeing Revenge of the sith, how the prequels played out, and then seeing this fight, and how it ends, its emotional, its powerful, and to watch Obi-Wan's heart break seeing who was beneath the mask was TEAR jerking. The heaviest part is when he responded to Obi-Wan's apology with "I am not your failure, Obi-Wan", that hurt deeply.

    Outstanding edit, exactly how it should of been made. I do get that the kenobi series should have some of an original score in it, it still should of had a little bit more of the ep3-ep4 williams music in it because its from that time. Still not disappointed. Not to take anything away a already great scene, if it aired edited like this it would of made this already amazing scene even better.

    You can just feel the FORCE by whatching these badass fuckers

    Teacher vs student
    Friend vs foe
    Damn 🔥

    Obi was never this strong like in the end of the duel, because (in my opinion of course) under the rocks, he reminded himself cause to fight for. Love and care to Leia and Luke gave him extra boost and that's why we saw so powerful Jedi like never before. Fought like father for his own kids ! ❤️ Beautyfull moment especially sith this music edit.
