Being born and bred in Ghent, thank you for the loving tour of my city and your kind words for the cuisine of Belgium, Flanders and Ghent in particular. As others have commented, you don't know what you have until you see it thru the eyes of an outsider.
I really appreciate that. Ghent will always have a place in my heart. The people are so kind and welcoming. It it truly beautiful. Really, the region of Flanders is not to be missed for anyone who loves incredible food and stunning landscapes. I look forward to visiting Belgium again. I also want to explore Wallonia, too.

Thank you so much. It means a lot that you enjoyed this video. I hope you can make it to some of the places we visited. Either way, you'll have a great time!
Hey Brigitte, thank you for this riveting production, well done! living already for 20years in Gent, I mist say: I love how much you love our city ❤ You handpicked some good and relevant foodie experiences (that mustard you tried is so Unique for Gent, cuberdons as well, Kultur is simply the best bakery in Gent, Grey schrimp sandwich from Aula, Deduytschaever pralines,..And Many Many more) More over; kudos for your background knowledge: impressive! Well done, well done! Let this video inspire many more tourists and enjoy Gent to the fulliest 💗 Thank you Brigitte!
Haha the stew is one of our best foods in Belgium ! I absolutely looooooooooove it! Amazing video!! You did a great job showing what our culture is like and i'm glad you enjoyed it! :)

I love your video of Gent and your appreciation of the foods and drinks. Are you a chef? You know a lot about food. I feel so privileged now when it always seemed normal for us. You will love Brugge too I am sure .Thank you 😊
Thank you so much. Yes I am a chef. I also visited Brugge and filmed there. Check out the video. I will also be releasing videos in Antwerp and Brussels soon. Thanks for watching!
Your research is quite awesome for it to take you out of the centre to pita musa . I go to that marrakesh olive stand to get my rfissa 'bread' :-) Glad you liked it here and your pronounciations are fun . good show
Thanks so much. I try to research and ask locals where they eat. Pita Musa felt like such a beloved place and really part of the community. And I think about that Marakesh olive stand all the time. You're lucky to have it! Thanks for watching!
I live 20km from Gent, thought I knew my way around the city, ‘till I saw your video 🤣 Your enthousiasm and respect for our food- and drinking culture is amazing! Thx for this video. Groetjes uit Vlaanderen!
Btw, the cheese with mustard combo is something I grew up with and didn’t realize just how Belgian it is until you said:’where has this been my whole life?’ ☺️
next time you are in belgium maybe try mussels with fries bicky burger that you can find in the chip shops in belgium. of course shrimp croquettes. a luikse waffle a brussels waffle chicory with cheese sauce with mashed potatoes tomato shrimp with fries a mattentaartje for beer we have so many good beers
I tried many of those Belgian dishes, including mussels with frites, in my time in other cities. They will be published soon! Thanks so much for the recommendations, as well.

I am a vivid foodie and daily cook living in Antwerp. I visited 18 Michelin stars until now 🙂 But I also keep an eye on the small simple places that offer super quality! Perhaps try the shrimp croquettes at Fish a'gogo near the Cathedral? There are SOOOOO many fine places to enjoy the best quality food and drinks!
Thank you so much! I already visited Antwerp. So many great places to eat. Such a cool city, too. That will be coming out within the next month. Thanks again for your offer!

Very beautiful documentary of Ghent. Only the "bonjour" when entering a store is somewhat off-putting for Flemish viewers.
We collect them at sea, fly them over to Morocco to get them peeled..and then we sell them at outrageous prices 😂
