Then you have Jaco in 1986. Link below. Sober, Stabilize and playing better than ever before relapsing. There's quite of bit of material of Jaco that could blow away anyone musically of Jaco in the '80s but, people didn't understand bipolar disorder 35 + years ago than they do today as well as 12 step programs. Just imagine if was still alive today. I'd leave it at that. ruclips.net/video/3SMKzn2Jwk4/видео.htmlsi=oePLOb5onJsgMoYJ
I was referring to his "Slang" solos with Weather Report and what they gradually became in his tenure with that band, not what he played in his most musically fruitful periods/occasions after departing in 1981. Like you said 86' was mostly a musically great year for Jaco with PDB, the two tours with Bireli Lagrene and last but not least his gigs/album with Brian Melvin and Jon Davis. Btw I'm the one who uploaded the "So What" video you linked to. Feel free to browse through my channel for more Jaco content as well as material from other artists if you haven't done so already. Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment. Greetings from Norway.
Hello musicuniverse! I tweaked the background noise in the Champaign solo a bit, trying not to mess with Jaco's sound too much. Where should I send it if you're interested in checking it out?
Jaco had lots of friends, the people who really knew him, adored him. Loved by all, more than he knew..
but then again, did he?
Tree marvelous solos ; thank a lot for upload
You're welcome Pierre. Thanks for taking the time to comment.

His 86 stuff w Birelli is fantastic and blows away the idiotic narrative that he was washed up at that time.
wow
Love hearing Jimi Hendrix in there
Yes, and quoted without the distortion that came later. Beautiful stuff indeed. Thanks for commenting.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
3rd one is interesting, he quotes his "Balloon Song" heard on the criteria sessions, as well as Dolores, a 2nd quintet tune
Interesting indeed. He quoted these tunes in other solos as well, especially "Dolores". Thanks for commenting.
