@Wadsmitter the classical technique is different, classical is a stop and thumb pluck affair Van Halen hammers the string onto the fret at the appropriate interval, Eddie didn't invent too many techniques he just made the world aware of them☺

Porcaro4ever pls god it stresses me out
@@mauricioalba5836 I KNOW!
Alex Acuña el único musico peruano que deja en alto el nombre del Perú.
I saw Acuna in an interview. He said he was Porte Rican.
@@breedurham1288no, he is peruvian, other different thing is that he lives in puerto rico and speak like one
Who else was in love with Jaco in these days? I was 15 years old then. Is this really 76 and not 77? Totally blown away by Weather Report and followed Jaco as much as I could after that.
The facial expressions say it all....Amazing capture!
Nobody was doing anything like this on the bass at this time. Incredible playing!
sigh ... Stanley Clarke, Chris Squire ... that old Jaco-did-it-first placard was tiring even 25 years ago
Brian Hammer 😂
Brian Hammer I’m a huge Yes fan, but Chris Squire is an absolute child next to Jaco. And Stanley Clarke-what a monster player-couldn’t begin to play harmonics the way Jaco could. Not even close.
Greg Adamson Well said that man!
@@grega.4556 Rubbish. Pastorious had a certain style, and that's about it.
Not being a jazz fan in particular, but liking it very much, I sometimes forget that there is such a music scene in Europe. When I think "jazz" my mind doesn't immediately fly to Europe, but, here it is! Very cool!
One of the most impressive gigs on the net imo. Great, real hard working/playing guys while they seem to have fun (Joe at least or Manolo).
Loved this band.
🐸 16:10 Here comes the Bird Sound👍 First Time I have heard a human using that sound so amazingly well✔️ thank you so much 🙏
Now I know where Eddie Van Halen picked up his chime technique! Jaco was amazingly ahead of his time!
+Xcorgi Nope, he wasn't. He was in his own time just perfectly, thanks.
Xcorgi mate people have known about harmonics on stringed instruments for centuries
@Wadsmitter the classical technique is different, classical is a stop and thumb pluck affair Van Halen hammers the string onto the fret at the appropriate interval, Eddie didn't invent too many techniques he just made the world aware of them☺
@@hughjarrse "Van Halen hammers the string onto the fret "
You appear to be describing VH's "tapping" technique. Harmonics are a different thing.
@@rjlchristie you're missing the point I was trying to get across, Van Halen sometimes taps between the frets which gives you the note at the interval between the hammered note and the fret (or nut) below. The other technique he uses is tapping directly onto the fret giving harmonics , Jaco isn't tapping the harmonic
Wayne is simply amazing. Can't get over this guy. What a band. In times of absolute mediocrities.
Miss 'ya, Wayne!
Weather Report "WITH" Jaco Pastorius!!?? He was in the band, your title implies he was a guest performer. He was the next to last bass player in the band. C'mon, he was phenomenal AND you ought to be accurate your description. Weather Report was a great band and true WR fans appreciate their growth in all their derivations.
Magnifique ! Toujours aussi prenant . Vraiment le top .Pastorius a donné ses titres de noblesses à la basse.
This is cool because Jaco is here but it's REALLY REALLY cool because Manolo Badrena is here! That cat really adds joy to any music.
I've been a fan of Weather Report from day 1 and I like this band the most... even without a big name drummer... Acuna is great. He works at it.
this its a great album and the late jaco in its height of his career...
Probably captures the time when this all came together for Weather Report. This was a storm OK. Zawinal actually really enjoying himself, he got Jacko with him and the rest of the greatest line up innit. All the line ups that joe had were all full of great players and its all worth watching BUT this is actually the genuine article.
Saw this version of this band three times that year of 1976. Thank you for posting this, because it takes me right back. Jaco, young and not yet wrecked, is beautiful. So much joy in the way this band played.
(Napoleon Dynamite language) LUCKY!
My goodness what astounding beautiful vibrant music.
Quincy Jones, summed the band up best: "It was a privilege to attend a Weather Report concert !"
I just now discovered this groovy ass jam. WOW!! All the wasted years of not knowing. Got it now..
I never saw them. This is fantastic . I never saw Jaco either great stuff.
Everyone seems to be enjoying everyone.thanks for the post.
昔新宿厚生年金会館のライブ見に行きました。正に圧巻のライブでした!
Listen to a funky Jaco on that bass. The GOAT in his prime!
damn, this is great !.........wish I paid attention to this band back in the day but thankfully for recordings, it's never too late I guess
And Wayne’s blowin was such an integral part of their sound - he took chances....
A remark you made is one of their best songs, Jacos bass is so erie
Meraviglia! Thank you so much!!
Jaco, man. He was Not Of This Earth.
Acuna is kicking ass on the drums!!!
Living groove
What a lineup.
THE BEST LINE UP EVERRRRRR
Bellissimo! Travolgente👌👍👏👏👏
