Welcome to Episode 4 of "A Week in the Life of a Black Girl Flower Farmer"! This week, I kicked things off in the flower picking garden with some weeding and woodchipping to keep those aisles neat. But as the sun turned up the heat, I had to take a break indoors.
Inside, I gave you a peek at my germination station and sowed some new sunflower seeds-since the last batch got snacked on! I also direct sowed zinnias, hoping they'll bring a burst of color come fall.
Back on the farm, it was all about moving wood chips-until the soreness set in. It hit hard, and I had to take a much-needed day off to recover. But by Friday, I was back in action, harvesting some stunning flowers. I wrapped up the week in the garden, doing a bit more weeding, composting, and of course, creating a beautiful bouquet to take home.
