Hopefully, you all are able to take something away from this video that helps you further your music production journey. If you have any topics that you'd like me to go over, just leave them here. I want to be able to help out as much as I can. Also almost 20k! Thank you for sticking with me.
Hey Courtney ive been following you for a while and just wanted to say keep doing your thing. A couple of ideas are a 'back to basics' series of short videos i.e. for those things that producers may not keep in the habit of doing. Also a retrospective look at some of your old music would be interesting (your journey etc).
Totally understand the part about struggling to release music. I always feel like everything I do isn't good enough, even though I started this knowing it would be a learning experience. Love the point about how people might resonate in ways you wouldn't expect. One of my covers ended up in a stranger's wedding because they loved it so much! You never know who you're going to influence in a positive way with your art. Even just one person is great.
So true, some of my least favourite beats [typically the super simple ones] have been my best selling that people tell me they love haha. You never know what is going to connect with somebody else!
if youre a guitar player "guitar theory for dummies" by desi Serna is a good one. just take your time reading it and dont move on until you understand what you read. im still reading it now but so far ive picked up a lot of cool information that has helped me improve.
Hey Courtney - discovered you via Bo, checking out a few vids. I love this sort of content; it's interesting to see what other people think important and you can usually pick up a few tips, too 👍
hey Courtney!! this video was awesome!!! im so glad I found you!! could you please talk about AMUSE as a distributor in one of your videos? ive heard their great! but since u have a ton of knowledge on this front, also love the vibe of your videos!! so so cool!
Great info. Thank you!!! I'm using Cakewalk by Bandlab. I've been using it since I had to pay for it as Sonar. Anyone getting started should really consider it because the $500+ dollars you save on your DAW can be invested in pro plugins. Just a thought.
Courtney! First, I need to tell you how much I love your tutorials. They are informative, inspiring, and entertaining. I just purchased an AKAI MPK mini MK3 and before I found your video channel, I was having a difficult time using it with Logic X. I am also a big fan of Presonus Studio 5. Could you make a tutorial for MPK mini MK 3 and Studio 5 setup?
You're Amazing on so many levels. Music is everything to me. I just purchased the Maschine MIkro. im just a little lost on how to use it with fL studio 20. im familiar with fl studio and i would like to work with them both. Bless up Queen
Just found your channel while having problems with my MPK Mini. Got it solved watching your video. Thanks so much for sharing. Your first tip reminds me of an interview I once saw with Peter Gabriel. He was asked about talent and responded something like that talent is overrated and that he saw several talented people getting stuck in their ego and not being able to collaborate and communicate with people. So he also suggested to focus on communication skills and added discipline as key.
I Just Wanna say GOD BLESS YOU !! GOD JESUS CHRIST AND THE HOLY SPIRIT IS ALWAYS WITH YOU !! I came across your page and I can watch every video because Everything about you is Beautiful I say that In the Most Cleanest Way as Possible !! And noticed your last video was a Year Ago !! I Hope LIFE IS GOOD FOR YOU AND ALL IS WELL MAM !!! We need more people like you in the WORLD !! A Diamond 💎
You are a blessing for 20 somethings like me. I’m taking a music theory class alongside my engineering courses. Just found you after buying my Mikro MK3. You’ve got a new subscriber :)
RTFM the DAW's documentation!!! RTFM means "Read The F*#$king Manual". Just Google the DAW manual for the DAW you're learning. Most of the RUclips creators that are giving you tips and tricks just took the time to read the manual, which gave them the tips and tricks. Do the same for all of your equipment as well! Also, your equipment will come with a card to register your device. DO THIS! Most of the time registering your equipment will unlock tutorials and larger manuals that you can RTFM!!!
Something I wish I kne when starting out is all Producers aren't Producers & all Composers aren't Composers Living in 🇯🇲 most of the top producer Composers just buy beats fr Ghost producers..
Courtney Hawkins "Can you please make a video on music theory and how to play any midi keyboard that's 25 keys or etc., but mainly focusing on AKAI MPK MINI 3. I don't know how to play the piano?" Before I leave, I also want to add that I don't know how to use the piano roll FL STUDIO; please, including that in the video. I'm trying to become a producer but can't play piano for crap, so I'm stuck in this loophole. Sincerely, Lil Slick Back

Made my 1st 100k fr music before I ever owned actual gear shit ion even have a dedicated studio room yet 😂 learning & growth is such a wonderful thing
Absolutely! The reason I was able to get a dedicated room for the studio was because of all those beats I made in a tiny bedroom that I shared.
So true, some of my least favourite beats [typically the super simple ones] have been my best selling that people tell me they love haha.
You never know what is going to connect with somebody else!
Keep making moves boss lady
Thank you Nathan!
So true about new gear, taking you off your path, to learn it, to add it. It's like a paradox
Video idea - good books on music theory?
I got you!

FACTSSSSS..... I don't know about ya'll, she is extremely right.. She's dead on... Facts, pick a DAW, and learn it.. Another good one..
