i don't know if anyone put it out there yet but here's a tip. i followed this tutorial except with a maschine mikro mk3 and this is what works for me: i didn't have to add any midi controller in logic itself, so i didn't follow the "Mackie Control" parts, but i had to press play, stop, record, piano roll, mixer, and etc.. twice sometimes, and sometimes it would just constantly trigger the piano roll or mixer nonstop, and it got so annoying.. i watched another video and apparently you just have to change how it's assigned in the Controller Editor. Open the Controller Editor and connect it to Maschine Mikro MK3 in MIDI mode, go to the "Assign" tab, and change the assignment of whatever you're trying to do in Logic into "Trigger" mode instead of "Toggle". sorry if this comment wasn't that descriptive but hope it helps whoever needed it. Now you can press Play, Stop, Mixer, etc... and it'll work right away without glitches..

Hi Courtney, when I look at control services I can see that there’s already a machine MK3 option instead of selecting Mackie control. What are the advantages and disadvantages of choosing machine MK3 instead of mackie control. I’m just starting to use the machine hardware but I’ve always produced in logic so I went to maximize my workflow. Do you have any other videos that you would suggest that I check out? May I ask, why do you wish to add Maschine Studio if you already have and know Logic well? What is the advantage of adding Native Instruments? Their software is heavy and taxing on one's computer isn't it? Please advise as I am new to both platforms but "not" new to making beats.
Just a quick tip if anyone has Maschine, Battery or Komplete: If there’s a kit you like in Maschine or Battery you can search the kit name in the one-shot section of Komplete. Then you can shift select the 16 One shots that come up and drag them into Logic to create a DMD kit. Then save it to your user patches. Much easier than trying to use Maschine as a plugin within logic and a LOT more flexible with the DMD format.
But Komplete doesn't see Maschine's Kits, but only individual samples. Although the directory of the Machine library is specified correctly in the Komplete settings. How to fix it? Any ideas)
@@user-cp8wn3oc1n it doesn’t organise by specific kits unfortunately. You can filter by expansion in the one-shot section so at least all your choices are more genre specific. I went back into control surfaces and messed around with different input and output, but none of them are giving me any sound from the mk3 pads. I bought a Mikro just to get access to Komplete Select and try some VSTs, and knew nothing about the integration aspect of these controllers. It’s an embarrassment that such a major player in the realm of midi controllers provides pretty much nothing in terms of support for DAW integration. I’ve tried almost everything with my Mikro, and I’m in the same boat as you. Nothing works right outside of Maschine. I will never buy another NI product.
Just delete any teamplate keep original ,you don’t need some extra like mackie or put maschine mk 3teamplate end set virtual input output maschine in this teamplate😂
So I tried this and programmed a bunch of functions. It worked perfectly, until it totally spazzed out. Kind of flipping between either Rec or Stop or Play. What did I do wrong? Now it wont work at all anymore. Any settings in Controller Editor or Shortcuts wont work and completely spazz out Logic...
the pads on my Maschine contain the same midi number (c-1, c#1 etc..) however they aren't recognized by drum Maschine designer and won't trigger the samples. is anyone else experiencing this issue?
Hmm, I do not know why you are setting it up as MCU. You can just create a template and add whatever custom buttons and features you want within Logic using the custom key commands and midi learn assignment. It is also better to setup the controls as triggers instead of toggle. Because you press the button once and it activates what you want. With toggle you need to press it twice.
hmm I followed everything in the video.. not sure why my pads aren't triggering any sounds. For example I assigned a kick to c-1 on the Drum Maschine Designer in logic and when I hit the pad it doesn't sound off. halp

I know its a far shot, but any idea what I may be doing wrong? I went back into control surfaces and messed around with different input and output, but none of them are giving me any sound from the mk3 pads. Can I use the Maschine MK3 template instead of the Akai Control Surface?
Super helpful, thank you!
so I have a Maschine Mikro- would this work for this too?
Yes it would
the pads on my Maschine contain the same midi number (c-1, c#1 etc..) however they aren't recognized by drum Maschine designer and won't trigger the samples. is anyone else experiencing this issue?
Thank you, very helpful
How do I play the Logic Pro sound libraries on my Maschine?
How did you get the drum pads to work, it seems like it should just start working when I drag a sound but it didn't. Can someone help
im having the same problem. did you figure it out?
Have you updated your logic pro?
I figured it out @@Nick-mt2yu
I figured it out
Great Video! thx
Dam you’re sick for this !
I followed the steps up until 6:37. I'm not hearing or seeing any playback when I hit the pads
i cant find the plus button on my instrument track even though i put it into multi ouput
Hmm, I do not know why you are setting it up as MCU. You can just create a template and add whatever custom buttons and features you want within Logic using the custom key commands and midi learn assignment. It is also better to setup the controls as triggers instead of toggle. Because you press the button once and it activates what you want. With toggle you need to press it twice.
so.. how do you open the native instruments controll editor? you literally cut that part out
Hi Courtney. Thx so much. Best Tutorial on the planet.
hmm I followed everything in the video.. not sure why my pads aren't triggering any sounds. For example I assigned a kick to c-1 on the Drum Maschine Designer in logic and when I hit the pad it doesn't sound off. halp
Same issue here
@@mattlanmedia3452 check top comment, gotta not use the Mackie control (delete it) in the control surfaces set up menu
