They were smart to keep supporting Maschine Studio since they don't have a replacement for it yet
I still rock the Studio... Never saw a reason to upgrade
NI has done AMAZING things with the introduction of clips, growing patterns, etc etc - really bringing it to a fully capable idea catching DAW for creators. I have a Maschine MK3 and KK s series mk2. When the time comes I will get the newer hardware to support and be part of the evolution of the NI ecosystem
BOY im so Glad watching your channel last year convinced me to step out my MK1 and go get MK3 when the Holidays came I would of been in small bind if not.. this is a stellar video and tonight im gonna review in it entirety
Mk1 and mk2 are 10-15yrs old. You did good to get support that long. If they didnt add realtime timestretch to the sampler i got a mk3 for sale. Its just ridiculous at this point.
Legacy users will be okay, continuing to use Maschine V2
For those considering upgrading from Maschine models that won't support version 3.0, it would be helpful if Native Instruments could clarify whether they plan to release a MK4 in the near future. I’m open to upgrading from my Maschine MK2, but I’d prefer to avoid buying the MK3 now only to find out a MK4 is about to be released.
Yup, same here
Only thing they'll do is send out a teaser video a few days before they actually show any new hardware
I got the MPC Live 2. I like it but I think the Maschine MK3 work flow is better. I’m going back to using the Maschine!!
Thank you for the video. I made music with FL years ago, then I came back to music production in 2023 with Maschine, I find it very agile and fun, made a lot of tracks, I am pretty satisfied with the social recognition they received too. It's known that Maschine "haven't received" updates in 13 years, which is untrue, especially watching this video.
NI has been going down really fast, thank you for sharing.
I SOLD MY S61 MK2 AND MASCHINE MK3 AND BOUGHT MPC KEY 61. I MAKE HIP HOP AND TRAP BEATS, I'M VERY HAPPY WITH THE PURCHASE. I HAVE ALL THE SOUNDS IN THE KEYBOARD, I CAN MIX, PUT DOWN VOCALS ALL IN THE MPC, 100% STANDALONE. BUY SUB FACTORY PLUGIN AND IF YOU MAKE TRAP BEATS YOUR GOLDEN. AND BTW THE WORK FLOW IS NOT THAT HARD, AFTER A 2 DAYS I KNEW HOW TO MAKE THE BEAT, MIX AND SEQUENCE AND I NEVER USED MPC BEFORE ONLY NI.
I'M JUST GLAD YOUR CAPS LOCK KEY STILL WORKS!!1!
I CANT HEAR YOU
@@SsgtHolland Lol my bad on the caps.
"Mumbler; I can't understand anything you're saying!"
Glad you like the MPC. 👍 I have tried both and can tell you Maschine is much more powerful (particularly because of its plugin selection) while the MPC IS faster for editing sequences.
You may end up missing your Maschine after a while... But it depends on how extensively you build your tracks.
I have a Maschine+. It's also standalone and runs FM8, Massive, Reaktor and Kontakt patches without a computer 😎
not surprising since the S series Mk 2 keyboards didn't get any access to the new features in Kontakt 7 & 8 which the Mk3 keyboards did
Either NI is coming out with a monster unit or they’re about to go fishing.
It’s tied series game 7 for them.
Nothing less than a maschine studio level piece will do. (Fanfare wise)
Anything less than the latest mk 3 and it’s up.
Try a “Ableton Move”
type move, or some intermediate “till we get our thing together” release and i don’t know how they come back from that.
The new
“Maschine studio” or something fantastic is all I’m trying to hear.
Corporations never get it.
Well I guess I be staying on two until I can upgrade my gear.
Yep, when it drops we can watch vids and determine whether or not to upgrade. I really like 2 as shown in this video. They really had lots of great updates throughout the years which made it totally worth the upgrade
i think it is probably a bit early to suggest Maschine mk2 will not work with maschine 3.0.... until it is fully tested when the release of maschine 3.0 takes place! wait until the release!
Mk2 is a mk1 with rgb lights and better displays…they’re essentially the same so if 1 doesn’t work neither does the other
No it wont be. From the NI website:
'We want to let you know that Native Instruments will soon be ending software support for Maschine MK1, Maschine MK2, Maschine Mikro MK1, and Maschine Mikro MK2. (Maschine Jam, Studio, Mikro MK3, MK3 and Plus are still supported).
As is often the case with older hardware, we are at a stage with these Maschine products where we can no longer guarantee repairs due to a lack of available components. As operating systems advance there are also limits to the changes we can make to new software without breaking legacy hardware integrations. Retiring these products also means we will be able to put more focus on the development of new Maschine software.
You will still be able to use your Maschine hardware with Maschine 2 software, which includes Apple Silicon and VST3 support. However, from November 6, 2024 we will no longer be maintaining this hardware and cannot guarantee that it will be supported by future versions of your computer’s operating system. It will also not be compatible with new updates to Maschine software.'
What about the mk2 s-series keyboard looks like it’s time to sell
Not just yet. I'm not sure about that
Hard to find parts when it's a software update LOOOOOOOOOOOOL please they want people to open their wallets that's all
Maschine 3 going to be trash lol
People are going to give this company even more money smh
Im pretty sure that NI offers a new Maschine controller with fully mpe and some other new technologies… any other makes no sense.
I’m late to the game, but I just bought used MK2 and S88 over the past few months. Not looking to upgrade. What concerns me are OS updates. How likely is it that an update (not an upgrade) will cause problems?
I'd always recommend waiting to update. In the past i would update and run into compatibility issues whether it be with plugins or the software itself.
@@FizzENT Thanks! It’d be cool if NI could let us know in advance, but I’m not holding my breath. 🤘🏻
Honestly they are so old now and aren’t standalone units . Doesn’t this happen with most midi controllers that aren’t standalone ?
Yo aun uso la version MASCHINE 2.8.1 (R702) . AUN TODO BIEN
😂 why wouldn’t it not work??
Did you officially see this from NI or is this video totally based on hearsay and rumors 🤔
it was posted on the NI forum by an NI staff member as an official announcement.
Native In$trument$ getting ready to take your money for a half baked product with more bugs in the v3 software than version 2.......
Wooooow this is what we get for being a loyal customer. Barely even an update and they can’t include legacy. SMh
😆 we can thank technology for that
It's been more than 13 years ,that's a lifetime in technology years to maintain support
@@king6463 it’s not hard code a product you already have, to not be able to use the new update just because they want you to by the newer version is wild. Especially when they only dropped updates about every year. It’s just lazy
@@dek10157 At the time you bought the product there wasn't any of these new features in the box somehow you're entitled to them how? 😅 How would you know if it's a hardware limitation when you've not even seen it,I get the disappointment of missing out but for the love of God these are very old machines
@@king6463why does a midi keyboard from 2000’s still work?
Maschines are basicly just usb input devices like a keyboard, mouse or whatever. There is no point in don't make them usable anyomore besides NI trying to make money. It's ridicolus. Since the whole software is running on your computer Native Instruments decided to kill old hardware for no reason, again. They did it with their audio interfaces and now they go further. I own music hardware from decades. The only gear that I can't use anymore is Native Instruments stuff. Just think about that. Don't buy anymore NI crap.
Preach. Started making music with NI in 2011, have spent thousands. Will never buy a single thing from them again.
Sent my komplete kontrol mk3 back i researched the machine and the mpc key 37 and it had on board sounds and beats i was like yep not going back to native instruments
But this goes for any of the modern beat machines that run computer software. MPC Ren too. Newer technology will always come out leaving old take behind. The original 2009 Maschine is 15 years old...that's a long time
You can’t single out Native instruments. How long did BeatThing last. I’ve had the MPC studio Silver and Black. Name me one Beat Machine that hasn’t been discontinued. That’s over 10 years old.
@@jerzboybeats Beat THANG*, sir. Put some respect on its name.
Aww sh** this business strategy sucks
