    I bought a similar kit a few years ago. I was always worried about breaking the lamps as they are large and seem fragile. I replaced them with ES LED bulbs which works fine. I always use a sandbag at the bottom of the lighting stands as they topple easily. I keep mine made up in a cupboard as they are a real puzzle to put together.

    What are these transitions!!!!

    got a similar lights kit in the past... does the job if not moved/adjusted too often (due to the plastic connectors and handles)... beware also of the blinking or "parasite lines" when shooting on different shutter speed due to the low quality of some light bulbs...

    I think the hair light is meant to be opposite the main light as it doesn't make too much difference. I think if it was on the other it would give a be more visible as it is on the darker side.

    • @MrAlexTech
      @MrAlexTech  4 года назад +1

      Hey hey. It's generally up for interpretation really. Some prefer it on the same side as the main, others on the fill side. If you want a balanced hair light, you go directly above and behind the subject etc etc.
      I went on the right side purely because I don't have the space to go on the other side without it being in the shot 😆

    I just purchase to use Fovitec soft boxes without bulbs!
    Would 10 90+ cri 60wats 800 Lumens led bulbs be adequate lighting in your opinion?
    Softbox boxes are going to be used for a new beauty/talking head RUclips channel!

    The lighting looks great! But why not use LED-based globes? So much more efficient. Is there a reason for this?

    • @MrAlexTech
      @MrAlexTech  4 года назад

      Good question, I don't know. Cost maybe? Although LEDs are way cheaper than they used to be.

    Shoddy, bottom of the barrel equipment, very poor customer support. I'm speaking from experience and can let you know the equipment may be fine at first but with repeated use it will quickly fall apart. Nothing worse that trying to shoot while your light stands and support and literally disintegrating on set. Stick with quality names, you'll be much, much happier in the long run.
