We should give thanks for Chris Barber and his band of superb musicians. Enhanced my young life and still does at 75. Barber, Crocker, Halcox, Pitt, Wheeler et al.
While I used to play in the local marching band we would always play it and sing to it, so fun! I still sing on it and even got the notes. Best song ever.
I visited Trondheim Norway in fall 2019 and a local school band was playing this song! The entire crowd was so into it and sang along in English. Really cool experience!

Loved the Chris Barber Band. Used to go to a pub near Ealing every month and watch him live.Also saw him when I used to race cars and Chris was in his green Lotus Elan.
Pat & I where close friends since january 1961. Since decease of Pat February 4, 2013, only Chris (Barber) and Jackie Flawelle (Bass) are "the memory" of 52 Years of my own traditionnal jazz Life (on banjo, trombone and tuba).JO LUTTRINGER (my Nickname frm Chris : "le petit détective").

THESE guyz were most DEFINITELY influenced by Preservation Hall Jazz Band and Ella Fitz! I am LOVING THIS!
