    Thanks for this video and hope the back injury wasn't serious. Hope you can publish your post ride thoughts on this seat. Heading into the market for a CRF300L soon and this will be one of my first mods given my vertically challenged situation.

    The kit that they offer for the stock pan is really easy to install. It’s not like you have to reupholster a seat from scratch, which i have done before, and you’re right, that can be a nightmare. This kit is formed and sewn to fit, so you simply remove the old seat cover and foam and slip on the new, then staple it. Since it’s on the stock pan, it fits like stock.
    That is a shame though that they couldn’t get it to line up like it should be. I chose the recovering option because the stock seat foam is trash in my opinion, I literally couldn’t ride the bike for more than an hour without being in pain, now I can ride all day. Obviously it’s not that way for everyone, from what I have read, but I threw the old foam in the garbage.

    Nice! I put a Seat Concepts low comfort on my 300 Rally. Ordered the cover not the complete seat. I then added Rally Raid level 1 front and rear suspension which lowered the bike. Then new tires made it seem taller again. I haven’t taken measurements just going on how it feels. I’m sure someone will give you feedback on the gap. Great vids. Hope the back feels better.

    I cross threaded both my rear seat bolts 2nd time I had the seat off. Now I got a trusty 8mm x 1.25 tap and spare bolts (Thanks to Amazon) at the ready. Cross threading the bolts is easier than you think.

    I just received my standard height seat concepts seat today and noticed the same figment issues. Had a tough time getting the front t bar to lock in and the angles don’t line up as well as stock. The gap drives me nuts also but the seat feels great tho. I’m sure it will grow on me but I guess I expected more for the price.

      Yeah i'm in the same boat. Still haven't really had the chance to put it to the test yet. Maybe it'll take some getting used to.

    The black looks sahweet! The gap would bug me too but it may conform better once you break it in a bit. Otherwise definitely reach out to them!

    I got the standard size and came with the same stupid gap, but only in one side. It definitely looks like is not put together correctly. I sent it back TWICE with pictures and videos, and they still didn't fix the gap. At least they offered to take it back and reimburse me. I decided to keep it because just by sitting on it for 3-4 minutes I was able to feel how much better it is than the stock one. I'm going for the first ride test this coming Sunday.... I know I'm going to like it.

    You could go with the Rally Raid Stage 1 suspension and you wouldn't lose any of the lowering gains you got from the seat concepts seat.

    • @MichaelKarapetian
      @MichaelKarapetian  Год назад

      That's the plan! Probably start with the rear shock pretty soon here.

    The dumb little strap on the stock seat is for the passenger to grab. Or at least that's what they say. Since it's legally required for passenger to have some alternative than the rider to hold onto in some Countries/States.

    How tall are you? Also do you have a kickstand foot enlarger? If so which one? Thanks

    • @MichaelKarapetian
      @MichaelKarapetian  Год назад +1

      I'm 5'7 probably 5'8 with riding boots.
      I think the kickstand enlarger is just an amazon one. This one: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09GFGM2NG/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
      Doesn't really give it the height it needs. Definitely expands the footprint a little bit.

    Do you have the stock suspension on your bike? RallyRaid suspension offers LEVEL 1 that offers the stock seat height.

    • @MichaelKarapetian
      @MichaelKarapetian  Год назад

      I do have stock suspension. It's next on the list but I haven't done serious research on options yet. But that is awesome.

      @@mt1885 I'm already watching some reviews on the low kit now. Looks great. 60mm less travel than stock. But we know most of that is lost anyways when you sit on the bike. This seems like a really good option. Somewhat affordable too if you don't opt for the dampening adjustment on the rear shock

    • @mt1885

      It’s “close” to OEM stock height, it’s going to be a little bit taller than stock due to the extra stiffness of the new spring. And Rally Raid is not the only company offering a close to OEM height option anymore, there’s a couple more out there now. I wanna say Ktech is one of them.

    Greetings,
    I did order one and I have the same problem with fit and finished. The seat concepts personal did NOT care at all when I reached out to express my concerns about the fit and finished. "Told me to take pictures and they would look into it" Seat concepts personal never called back.
    Warning be aware when ordering this expensive seat.
    Like you said the material is perfect but fit and finished NOT.
