Amos is so cool, i thought he would be quiet and introspective. I was lucky enough to meet the band at the WoB album listening party and he was super nice and outgoing, really appreciating the fans being there. A legend like the rest of the band

The kind of "boundlessness" in this album, not onlu reminds me of Pink Floyd (like Amos mentioned), but also reminds me of the album "Irreligious" by Moonspell.

If the idea behind this concept was to "shove off" the negative criticism they receive, it's almost like an indirect to a certain someone. I know very, and I mean REALLY VERY few people who are vocal about their criticism towards TesseracT and/or members that it almost sounds like I know exactly "who" they might be refering to.. If true, it's not the most mature thing to express. Some of the lyrics say things such as (and I'm paraphrasing) "I want it all, just give me everything now" (which sounds like coming from an angry fan), "You don't even care if I make it out alive" (that fan is also a narcissist), and "All you want is instant gratification" (the fan just cares about sense pleasure without consideration for the band members and their struggles). Am I onto something?

@pinunab4991 No. The concept is the foundation for a full game being developed alongside with the album (you can play the demo on Steam), where the labyrinth is the human mind. The story is BIG, very philosophical and very human. The battle within us that rages on all our life. The character The Scribe paints our fate, our path in life. Her work is in part destroyed by Fear, who sends out legions of soldiers (samurais). The character The Grey (the little red imp) is our inner child that holds our true self, our creativity, our freedom to be who we are. This child is restricted by different defense mechanisms (the guard dogs) from doing what it wants to do. And so on... listen to the band's streams and play the game. You'll get it.

@Irnelinis no, the lyrics for the album were written by Dan BEFORE they were repurposed to fit the characters from Amos' story/concept (m.ruclips.net/video/CLQys3FsyT8/видео.html), so I remain positive there's a lot of personam stuff from Daniel going on in the lyrics, it basically boils down to him finding a way to cope with negative criticism, it's a 1 hour diss track 😂

@@pinunab4991 I think you're reading into it a little too much. I agree that there's definitely themes of being an artist subject to criticisms (online or otherwise), I think some of the lyrics you point out refer to as much. But some of these things are not so literal, it's pretty typical for artists to write lyrics that are multifaceted in purpose and expression. Describing negative experiences can be mapped onto what he has experienced as an artist subject to criticism but can just as easily just be tied together into a greater narrative of inner turmoil. And I think it is for that reason that they were able to repurpose a lot of it into a concept about two characters dealing with inner strife.
But to say it's "a 1 hour diss track directed at someone specific" is a little too much headcanon for me.

@@Irmelinisthanks for the breakdown. This helped put some things into perspective. With that being said as much as I adore and respect the band i humbly feel like this is their weakest release to date. The overall concept is strong but it's hidden underneath alot of "immature" and dare I say surface level writing. Rhythmically, I would say they've taken a huge step back from monumental releases like Altered State. The mix volume is quite low and VERY scooped. Only true bright point is Dan's vocal demonstration which is nice but I would prefer less dramatization and theatre. Again not to take away from this effort but I will remain to say that Altered State is their best form.
