Man this is some old school RNG manipulation. Brings me back to the pre-Gen6 breeding days.
Was going to say, this is going to be a HUGE gateway for a lot of people into the wonderful world of pokemon RNG manipulation :D
Hopefully this is a start to a larger unlocking of the SV algorithms to make things like Raid RNG possible, or outbreak spawns, etc.

Did this 25+ times. Got PP Max or Gold Nugget every time. Could not get all rare balls. Finally realized i was one month off. Correct date, 1st try all rare balls. Guess i just got overly anxious and wasn't paying enough attention to the instructor. But as always, thank you for all you do Osirus!

Im getting the pokeball lotto everytime so I know i got my timing right but when I go to the All Special pokeball date it fails everytime. Im puzzled at this point
This is interesting, this means that the pokeball lotto is tied to specific dates and times that is pre determined, I did not think that's how it worked I thought it was pure RNG
Yeah me either I was super surprised to find this out as nothing else in SV seems to run off RNG like this. Gives hope for future findings in game :)
@@Osirus yeah to my knowledge they have never done anything like this method in any other way in any other game, even the cram o Matic worked differently than this
I wouldn't be surprised if this is tied to a debug option they made to shortcut some mechanics in testing....

There is no "pure RNG" because binary code is incapable of it. It's always simulated somehow, just happens to be we now know the item printer is date based (which isn't actually the first time Pokemon has used time based rng)
Between this (until it gets patched out) and the previous Smeargle glitch, we’re about to have very heavy Pokeball pockets.
This shouldn’t get patched out as it’s not a glitch more a way to use time/date info to produce specific results :)

@regularguy8547that’s when they open some of the game files on a computer to see the code
@regularguy8547 data mining is basically getting the game files on your PC and analyzing every file in there. Every game mechanic has to be somehow programmed by the developers so you can find that in the game files and figure out stuff like this. Take BDSP as an example: people figures out that the shiny charm won't affect random encounters at all because there is no multiplier in the game code.
Will, game's RNG being tied to the system clock is not something new. Old pokemons games had that so you could get a perfect IV/Natures you wanted.
It just took long to find this combination of dates.
I was having trouble with my timing, I'm on an older switch but not first gen, a year and a half after the switch came out in 2018. I found that 1 and a half seconds before the target time was better than 2 seconds for me, much more consistent.
So 1 and a half seconds before 13 seconds/9 seconds?

Something good to mention would also be you have to upgrade the item printer to at least lvl 2 in order to unlock the Pokeball lotto. It won’t work if you just buy the initial printer.

That's awesome, I wondered how "random" the roll was on these machines. It is amazing someone (or group of people) has been able to get even a couple of "perfect" times for this to work. Going to have to try this out tonight when I get home.

Ok nice! Been farming Beast Balls with the Smeargle thing (still haven't updated) so it's nice to know that there's a backup if I ever run out. I still think it's criminal that you can't buy Beast Balls like you could in US/UM. They're the ultimate challenge ball because of their insanely low catch rate. Ideally I want everything in a Beast Ball to show how much effort I put into catching, breeding, shiny hunting, training, etc.

@@icycoldfox1 Oh I have long since lost my mind in these games because I've done everything else. lol. My new thing is perfect shinies in Beast Balls. It's one of those things people think is hacked when they see it, but it's actually not that hard? I have a good 30-40 that I worked hard for.
Before the Smeargle thing I was farming Beast Balls in that stupid Dynamax thing in Sword and Shield where you can buy them for 200 crystals or whatever. And then I would just catch a Pokemon in the beast ball, and then transfer it over to S/V to start breeding the right IVs and stuff onto it.
Awesome! I literally learned how to speed run Scarlet/Violet for more Masterballs and getting extra once per save event Pokemon. Much easier to RNG manipulate for these in the lotto. Brings me back to Black/White hunting and my Hydreigon with perfect IVs. Even though the newer games are more forgiving with the hyper training and nature mints, it’s neat to know this exists.

@@jimmyffs I mean event raids like Meganium that Serebii lists as catchable only once. It’s possible to get up to 8 on a single Nintendo Switch with users linked to free Nintendo accounts. You only need to reach Los Platos Pokemon Center in the beginning of the game to access the Poke Portal and check the news. It takes longer to unlock the raids after beating the game (doable within 7 hours following speed run notes and videos) and Academy Ace Tournament and multiple 5 star raids (I think the requirement is 10 before the phone call) but you can do local co-op instead to catch Meganium.

i only had 2 from the lotto; luckily it only took me about three resets for the crit capture.
Very interested in farming Sport Balls, since I couldn't duplicate any with the Smeargle glitch...on account of not having any.
Worked for me as soon as I upgraded my item printer all the way. Kept getting 2x items before that.

Hopefully we can figure out combinations to farm specific items. Like ability patches for quick cash and hidden abilities and XL candy to cut xp grinding.

April 22 2024 1:27pm time delay 6 seconds
16 ability patches time is Aug 15 2043 5:32am delay is 13 seconds

I just tested it, I don’t think the 5x Master Ball date (3/25/2016 7:08:18 PM) in the video works for Americans. I did that date three times and it just garunteed a Dream Ball, a Moon Ball, and a Lure Ball.
I hit the same , I tried going one late or one early, and did not work, but now I have a loottttt of masterballs

@@aramob23 I think I figured it out. It worked when I set a timer for 17 seconds, but I’m on an older model switch, so accounting for the delay actually makes the time you want to go for is 19 seconds, not 18.

Okay have tried this a bit but just can’t seem to get the timing right. The two times I did get the Pokeball Lotto I didn’t even get the PP Up or Nuggets.
I know it might not be related but this makes me wonder if RNG could be manipulated to breed shinies like in previous gens

Is anyone getting the first PP Max, but then it doesn’t activate the Poke Ball lotto? I’ve tried this like 3 times and it never activates the lotto. Am I missing something?

I'm not sure if I'm willing to use this exploit as half the time, I can't figure out which special ball I want to use for a Pokemon.
Does anyone know if changing the clock messes with tera raids / outbreaks spawning? Not just changing them since they change daily anyways but i want to make sure they don't stop them from spawning for a period of time? I know they used to have some penalties in game in sw/sh for changing the clock.
I spent all day yesterday using the item printer after days of collecting BP. I did get like 5 love balls, 4 lure balls, 3 fastballs,2 heavy balls, 4 sports balls, 3 safari ball, 1 masterball, 6 beast balls, 2 moon balls, 1 friendball, and 4 level balls. Which isn't bad but did take a lot of BP & Materials. 😅
Didn't play SWSH so I hope there are no penalties. I spent all my BP trying for special balls and now I have to farm it all back up again. 😢

From the previous video, I was able to do that one perfectly. That was also from a Blaine video, but still. All the same.
I'm doing the one for May 20th, 2016 and I have the older switch model, so I've tried doing it at 15, 14, 13 seconds, 12, 11, 10, 9 and 8 seconds lol
I've been unable to even get the lotto to go off.
That's the frustrating part. I didn't even realize there was a 2nd part
I keep trying it for that specific time and date, but I'm getting a Star Piece and the Item Lotto instead. Maybe it's related to being American and using our MMDDYYYY format and the 12 hour clock?
Edit: I'm also using the Ultra Ball version. Haven't updated it, so gonna grab a bit more BP to find out after upgrading it.
Edit 2: Seems like I was right. It works differently if it's not Master Ball level. Took a few tries to get the timing exact, but that did the trick.

Has this been patched? I’ve got PP max over 50x and tried playing with the timing half a second either way. I can consistently get PP max, but never once got poke all lottery.
I've tried so many times and it doesn't work for me. All I get is Star Pieces instead of PP Max and 2x Item bonus instead of pokeball lotto. anyone have any suggestions?
From another comment I've seen, it i because you're doing it 1 second too soon or you aren't on the MasterBall Version of Item Lotto
Has anyone found a time that produces more than one beast ball? They're my favorite and I didn't stock enough of them back when the ride pokemon glitch worked.

What if the rewards from the pokemon academy league were predetermined? You could clear the league, set the Switch time to the right moment and then complete it then.
Though I guess this exploit makes that redundant

worked on my switch lite with the oled delay at 2:11:13(click on 12), and only 3 balls clicking on 11s
It doesn't matter what pokémon game they make. There will always be somebody sitting out there that just figures out how to exploit something in the game
I'm getting the timer to setup the pokeball lotto perfectly in every try, but the timer for the balls I rarely get it.
Are there ones for the 2x item bonus? I would be more interested in getting more tera shards and treasures. But at the same time doing it normally might be faster so idk.

@@Osirus you can get x2 item bonus by hitting A at 6 seconds instead of 7 during the initial lotto setup. Good to kno about that OLED info i didnt see that. ty

I have tested this myself and can confirm it works. You don’t even need high tier precision for this. Even if you miss it by a few ms it will still work 😂

Last time I used the item printer it gave me the 2x bonus literally 8 times in a row, I wasted all my hard earned BP and got no pokeball lotto, boy was I FUMING 😭😡💀

those masterballs dont work for me because i just get fast bal and pokeballs
I don't think I did it correctly, cause I tried doing the exact steps correctly, however, I think I might've been pressing the "A" button to do a print a bit early, which I kept getting 7 nuggets, and when the Poke ball lotto comes up, and I do the steps for that, I kept getting the golden glow, and not the glow I was hoping for. Even for the master balls as well, so, something's a little screwy.
I had the same occurrence on my first attempts. give it a moment of hesitation, and you'll start hitting. Hope it helps, GL in your lotto's.

Is it normal that i keep consistently getting 2x items instead of the pokeball lotto? I might be 1 second off or something. Is this happening to anyone else? Im in the U.S. btw. Im doing 4/22/2024 1:27:07pm on a first released switch
Edit: It worked finally! I accidetally waited 8 and a half seconds. I got a big mushroom, and activated pokeball lotto!! If anyone has a similar issue to me, then here's our answer.
