The Laser is changing everything , the capabilities now active on several Naval destroyers are unreal, perfectly straight path, speed of light , cents per “shot” it’s a game ended
Lasers can't engage targets beyond the horizon due to the Earths curvature, hence not a straight path. However, if the laser is located high enough then beyond visual range targeting is feasible. Other issues are weather, cloud cover, fog or anything else that is detrimental to or that prohibits the use of a Laser.

It doesn't matter if Allies even buy F35's to use against the US as the planes they buy from America are B- Grade versions in regards to jet engines and components used in the aircraft also the computer hardware is controlled in America so even if an Allie turned against the US you can virtually make there craft dead by turning off there computer hardware making them useless.
Do not agree. The f-35 greatest asset is its communications. It can talk to basically the whole of the military. We have f-35’s going to many allies and this communication aspect of the 35 will lead to dominance.

If they're reverse engineering alien aircraft, they haven't been very successful. If there's alien aircraft/spacecraft on earth, chances are they traveled at least a significant fraction of a light year to get here. The technology required for an incursion like that has never been seen by the public.

Almost all US classified aircraft development is now done at Area 52 (Dugway in Utah) since the area is twice the size of Nevada Groom Lake and far away from A51 where all the tourists flock to. 😊

I was in the military and I have always believed if they are showing this it is old news what we are really capable of doing and what we have won’t be known for some years unless we do have to go to war and then they will only tell and show us very little about our most modern military.

@@humanyoda the f35 II and many other systems are sold to other countries and researched on with other countries..there are indeed select things never sold or given as details to other countries and all countries probably have this to some degree...but the f22 is one of those bigger wonders being able to shred tens of 5th gen and 4th fighters before being taken out in simulations is pretty terrifying.
Unlike other countries and their probably secret programs..they pale compared to the US and what we are doing.

i just thought about it just now. but having a 3 unit team, aid in its own nav. allowing to remain in operation even is radar jamming locations. plus have 2 A.I planes can help in mapping out a more 3d map. my guess is its uses light to communicate with each other. so jamming signals won't work on them. with how many sensors its got on its body.
It's nice that the US Govt. can afford all the money that these wonderful aircraft cost. If the US Govt. wasn't able to buy such expensive aircraft, the US air force might not be the top dog in the skies like it is these days. The US is well off in many ways, blessed for sure.
I love our military technology, as far as I'm concerned we can't spend enough to support our men and women in the military.

The NGAD sounds pretty badass, but I will believe it when I see it. I hate to see the F22 get pushed out. Awful lot of networking for these planes. I always think of networking controls in military vehicles as a possible weakness and/or flaw to be exploited.

Are there any rear-shooting jet fighters? I am not aware of one. (except in movies) Seems like a logical progression of technology.
I'm a pilot and to my knowledge there are no fighters that are equipped with rear facing weapons. The last time that was done was during WW2 and they were used on some bombers. For example the B-17, B-29 and B-24.

The F-22 Raptor was not the first Stealth Fighter. The F-117 Stealth Fighter was the first stealth fighter and was used in the Gulf War.
The F-117 wasn't classified as a fighter jet. It depended on its stealth capabilities for protection.
