- The original sims and sims 2 games are finally here for windows 10/11 for ea app via steam and epic games store. There bundle includes many expansion packs, stuff packs, and even some sims 4 kits. Is it worth the price?
Not yet. Sims 2 players are now reporting crashing and some cannot open sims 1 !

Found the Sims 1 bundle same listing- sorry! Retails for $19.99 for that game alone. So you can buy both sims 1 and 2 for $39.99/ sims 2 for 29.99 for the other two bundles.
May do some sims 2 videos.

I've been talking to a lot of people who bought them and they've had several issues, including multiple crashes in The Sims 2 Legacy, and a few can't even run The Sims 1 Legacy. I'd strongly recommend everyone to hold off buying until/if these issues are fixed.

This is one of the reasons I don't buy it, and because of Sims 4 I already have them. I don't understand, if everything is already in there why do they leave out the IKEA pack?

@@kali6753 Likely licensing. When real world brands are involved for a new release they likely would need to renew some kind of contract to use the brand. They probably had little trouble getting a new deal with H&M but IKEA either wanted more money than it would be worth or just couldn’t work out a deal for other reasons. It’s the same kind of reason rereleases of games sometimes don’t include all of the original soundtracks.
I don't understand why it's not included and H&M is. I'll just stick with my cd copies, with my Billy bookcase 🥰
$30 and $20 for the Sims 1 and 2 are not terrible but I did kind of expected them to be a tad bit cheaper considering how old they are.

The Sims 2 should be free to everyone who owns the Sims 2 Ultimate Collection.

@thewewguy8t88 because it's been updated to play on the Windows system. Something you have to go through a complicated mod procedure to do with UC and also doesn't deal with all the problems
Absolutely worth buying the Sims 2: Legacy collection. If you've only played Sims 4, be prepared to... have more fun.

A lot of people are reporting over on the EA Forums that the game isn't even launching for them. I was about to buy it but now I'm kind of skeptical. I'm going to wait.

The trailer is the best one they put out since 2015. I think the price is pretty okay since they are over 20 years old, so it is a good deal for new players who never played either games.
For some odd reason they added 2 Sims 4 kits nobody asked for.
If you pay attention Sime 2 Ikea Home SP is mysteriously missing from the list. For that reason I'm sticking to the version that I have, have fun for the new players!
I can only guess on the kits- they weren't selling well anyway, they want to up sims sales numbers, idk

@@SimmerErin It's because the IKEA pack isn't included. They compensated with Sims 4 kits.
I had the same problem but it's my Nvidia graphics card settings not EA. This post from the EA forum by QueenSwitchblade helped me.
"if you're pc/laptop is running on an NVIDIA graphics card, go into your NVIDIA control panel and manage 3D settings. From there, find The Sims 1 legacy (if it's not listed, add it) click on the drop down menu and select integrated graphics then exit (it will ask if you want to apply the current settings, click yes)

I'm definitely getting this bundle, I've never had thr opportunity to play the original Sims game, and I'm excited to be able to try it. I LOVE the Sims 2, and my favorite pack would have to be either Night Life, Apartment Life, or University, but I really can't choose. A little random they're throwing two Sims 4 kits into the bundle, but that's fine lol
Night Life is my fav for sims . I did have a lot of fun before with university on occasion

Thankfully I own the Ultime Collection for Sims 2 in my EA app and it runs smoothly - yes maybe I had to download fixes and mess around with some files, but I won't be buying the Legacy version specially after I heard it doesn't include the IKEA home stuff pack and some mods like the community time project don't work when I already own a fully functional game.

IKEA stuff is actually one of the Best Buy/build packs they ever made, shame it’s not included.
I bought it straight away lol I had the sims 2 already but hoping this runs way better. I think its worth the price. I wasnt bothered with sims 1 though.
This is my thinking. An EA post said that the game should be able to utilise all RAM available and fix purple soup, now. However, I’ve heard reports of people experiencing crashing and the neighborhoods folder not generating properly, so we’ll see.
@xTwilightWolvesx seem to be running ok on mine but now I want mods and default replacement cc, so let's see how it works with them.
I cannot justify the cost. What's with the kit pushing?! Trying so hard to make Kits look popular.

No it's not because it's the same. They both crash, even though EA said the re-release would be compatible with Windows 10/11. Classic EA.

I did see someone mentioned in Dr. Gluon's stream chat last night that it's likely the collaboration DLCs won't be in because EA would have to get a new license. Which is interesting.

How... How do you even mess this up? You literally HAD the game there, it was already done. All you had to do was make sure the 64bit worked... Instead you gutted some of the original DLC and charged an ABHORRENT price for it. Best part is, it doesn't even WORK properly, it's a buggy crashing MESS!
Even if this game worked exactly as it is supposed to... it should be $10. You might think $30 is fine because of nostalgia, but there is NO way it's actually worth that. ESPECIALLY in its current state.
Because Ultimate Edition will brick soon too, this game release has created lost media... brilliant, thanks EA, you screwed us over YET again... I don't even know why I try to like the sims anymore...

I just got the Sims 2 legacy, and im installing it now, and i love the Sims 2. It's still my favorite sim game.

My personal opinion, they should have just released it for a week for free. Not only are the games old but they even gave up the rights to Sims 1 (that's why I was able to download the whole thing free from a way back machine type website for old games.) So why try to profit from them now? Also I a lot of people wont even be able to run it so what's the point in trying to sell them? Oh yea, more money smh.
That's kinda what they did with Ultimate collection, that was nice... And now that's gonna get bricked by EA because they don't support 32bit architecture anymore.
They never gave up the rights to TS1, no company ever gives up the copyright they have. At least not willingly anyway.
@@veeandness Why are you blaming EA for this? They didn't invent the 32bit system. Blame windows and mac for starting to dropping support for 32bit aplications. Windows still works but there will be a day where 32 bit games that were released till around 2011 will stop working completely due to architecture changes.
Everything is evolving and keeping support for decades upon decades old technology at this point is costly and takes more time to make compatability layers than to make something new. We can already see this with Windows 11 failing to run older applications.
They did not give up any rights. The game is considered "abandonware" (quotes because it's not a real term) which is a grey market and companies legally cannot sell a product that doesn't work anymore and don't bother to put in time and money to keep up with evolving technology.

I think the kits were chosen due to their titles having words (“revival” & “throwback”) that fit the theme of them releasing the bundles (nostalgia).
Good theory. I just thought it was because they were the least selling packs.
Agreed - the grunge scene was mainly popular in the 90s, so definitely a “throwback”

I'm kind of annoyed tbh. They charged me $20 for a 25 year old game, because they threw in a Sims 4 kit I already have. Could have just charged me half the price and left out the Sims 4 kit that, I repeat, I already have lol.
Also the people who got the Sims 2 Ultimate Collection on Origin for free are going to be annoyed because they'll feel compelled to buy this game simply because it has Apartment Life included, which the Ultimate Collection did not.
i think mac’s version of ultimate collection doesn’t have AL but i have apartment life on windows with UC

pc ultimate collection has all of the packs including apartment life.
I’ll get it when it’s on sale, I have ultimate collection but apparently 32bit games are going to stop working on the ea app soon.

If these kinds of remasters taught me anything, it's just to wait like 6 months befote getting them. As someone who has never played Sims 1 or 2, I'm fairly content with these prices.

Yup. Unfortunately, as always, we have to wait for modders to fix the stuff that EA broke. It’s very embarrassing for EA that unpaid modders did a better job at fixing the game than they, a multi-billion dollar company, did with the game.

While the crashing is a big issue, a funnier issue that can be annoying to lets players is some clothes aren't tagged right and not showing in the correct category. Most notable is toddlers have NO formal wear except the new years baby diaper and sash lmao all their formal wear is showing in everyday

@@JELea-wc6re basically both. The girls have 2 colors of the same dress. I've always had correct tags show up for boys in OG sims 2. Looking through Buy mode there's a lot of mismatched tagged items, like a small wall shelf showing up in dinning tables. Seems they just need to check all the tags
I paid for all these games when they first came out with all their original high prices. I ain't paying again. I'm just gonna.. call a friend...
The price to me is waaay much) I get Sims 1 probably needed a lot more work for the port, but Sims 2... this could've been a patch.
Would like to note for everyone, if you buy these on Steam and have severe issues you can get a refund on steam. So long as you haven't played for over 2 hours steam will give you refunds on your games.
As a Sims player since I was a kid, I am so excited and bought it immediately and I'm excited to play both these games for the first time as an adult (Sims 1 came out when I was 2.5, and Sims 2 came out when I was 7, I think I may have played Sims 1 the year it came out but cannot remember exactly)

I purchased the bundle through the EA app, cranked up the settings, and SO FAR haven’t had any issues. I don’t have the mod patch that you used to need to play it. Not saying that everyone will have the same experience, just sharing mine! I haven’t been able to play sims 2 in YEARS and it’s hitting the nostalgia button hard for me 💚

I played Sims 2 for about 5.5h yesterday and I only had one minor glitch, zero crashes. After coming home from the grocery store, my custom-built car was invisible and my sim was stuck floating in the driver’s seat for a little bit. The car eventually reappeared with a new paint job (it turned from green to blue).
Hardware note: I am playing on a 4 year old Windows 11 desktop gaming computer. Nothing particularly high-end or fancy, and I haven’t upgraded any of the parts since I purchased it from Microcenter (because wow you can spend a lot - and fast - doing that!). I’ve been told that having the dedicated graphics card helps, even if it is older. Not sure how big of a role that ultimately plays, but I say that as a disclaimer. Haven’t tried a comparison on my MacBook from college - but maybe I’ll try later today and report back to see if it’s a hardware thing or if it has more to do with my personal style of gameplay. Regardless, I am hopeful that EA will to pay attention to these problems and update the game so that everyone can enjoy!
Edited to add: I saw some people with NVIDIA graphics cards specifically are having problems. My computer uses an AMD graphics card, so maybe that’s part of it!
I think a lot of people thought it was a remake/remaster and not a rerelease. Some of the same fixes/mods we've been implementing for free we will still have to put in to get it to run, and EA snuck some of the patches into the rerelease (the shadow fix mod, for one). Reading steam reviews, many are experiencing crashes after creating a family and are disappointed that didn't at least add the modern resolution options. Also the antipiracy/spyware Denovo they added causes performance issues outside of the game. Not a great use of $30.
they def did label it a re release, but the team has almost no lead time at all marketing or communicating. they should have announced it at least a week ago, added FAQ and explained it
I’m still curious about the fate of The Ultimate Collection.
The Ultimate Collection’s fine, it still works perfectly on my PC. I think what’s going on is that Microsoft are dropping support for 32-bit applications later on in the year, so they tried converting The Sims 1 and The Sims 2 to be 64 bit. The problem is that people are experiencing a lot of issues at the moment with this Legacy edition. They said there’d be fixes for crashing and Pink Soup, but there are a lot of people still reporting crashes and even folders in the game not generating.
Yeah apparently EA App is dropping support for 32bit applications in April (I heard from someone else might not be true) so you could be losing access to it

I don't know about Steam, but the EA App has the bundle (both TS1 and TS2) and both of the legacy packs (if you want to buy them separately.) If you buy the bundle, you save $10.
I tried to install TS1, but it's not showing up in the EA folder with the others, despite the install notice saying that's where it would be. (TS2 is in the process of loading so I don't know what it will do.)
I got them mostly for the nostalgia (although I have all of TS1 on CDs and all of TS2 on DVDs.) But computers now don't have CD/DVD drives, so they decorate a shelf. I didn't get TS2 when the "ultimate TS2 game" came out years ago and didn't want to have similar regrets if I didn't get this bundle.
It doesn't surprise me that there are problems. However, once bought, they'll put out updates to fix those issues. (On Discord this morning they were asking people to report the problems with the information about their system so the bug folks could figure out why folks were having problems.)

@@SimmerErin I didn't have any trouble with TS2. But I still haven't gotten TS1 to open. I found it in Program files, but there isn't anything in EA Games or Electronic Arts like there is with the others. (EA Games has TS2. Electronic Arts has TS3, TS4 and Sims Medieval.)
Not even a graphic update. I still have copies from years ago and they work on my Windows 11 desktop 🤷♀. Specially the sims 1 can be downloaded for free on several sites.

I'm good with the pricing. Seems respectable when you consider what their pricing for TS4 has been and how much other "remastered" games cost across the gaming industry. $40 for both seems pretty reasonable all things considered. Rare W for EA.

I don’t even have the option to buy them - because I don’t have a Windows computer. I have Mac and PS4. I get that it’s more work to release to multiple platforms, but I just wish there had been… SOMETHING today for the rest of us. Even just like, an SDX drop with an extra game console or new video game or tv channel options for Sims 4. Or a special sale or offer of a free kit to Mac and console? Something so that the huge hype around this “Nostalgia Now” week would have anything at all to do with us. 🥺
as a heads up, apple store does have sims 2 and I've had decent experiences with it. My caveat is it does not have all eps- freetime and apartment life I think are missing
I like the idea of including the 2 extra kits for the sims 4 since it also fits thematically with the ‘nostalgia’ era of sims 2025 but with throwback kit being one of the first few kits released for sims 4 means that there’s a chance that most people are going to get either 1 new or no new kits if you have both of them
I have them both, which makes the price even less appealing for me.

Since I have Sims 2 Ultimate Collection fixed and working, I have no interest in Sims 2 Legacy Collection that doesn't have IKEA pack (definitely one of my most favourite Sims 2 SPs) and, according to official blog post, also removed some songs (though they did not clarify which and I am quite interested to find this info). But I am definitely interested in Sims 1 collection. Not only because getting them work from those old discs is real pain, but also because I never got Makin' Magic back then, so this would be great opportunity to play with that pack finally. But I will wait until the crashing issues so many people on EA Forums reported will be fixed. No rush to get that now.
Though I still wonder what's the point of including those Sims 4 kits, but whatever, it's EA. But it would be better deal for me if I did not already have the kit they included with Sims 1. As it happened, it's the kit they included with Sims 2 I don't have. Just my luck, I guess 😅
not sure, I am guessing it boosts the appearance of maybe kits that didn't sell well, someone else pointed out they sorta fit a past/ throwback theme. I know that sims 2 left out ikea stuff
I wonder if the mods for Sims 2 still work. ^_^ I played the game on and off until I had to pack away my WIn7 machine from 2012, the last I had with CD drives. (I missed out on the last online release because I did not follow EA online or use their launcher for my game.)

@@SimmerErin i just copied all of my sims 2 saves from my abandonware copy and all of my mods with my custom content and they all work.
Mods will work but be careful with mods that require Ikea meshes as that will cause the game to crash
Already bought :D The games work for me but Sims 2 Complete is still missing IKEA stuff so have to install that separately from pirated copy. It was also missing from the Complete collection that was removed from Origin in 2014 so that's not a new issue.

So far I haven't figured out how to get the Ikea stuff working. Only managed to break the game so there's no display output at all from the pc :D Had to reinstall the game to fix that :D
I played the Sims (1) a lot as a kid, between some family members we had all the expansions, which felt like a big deal at the time. My mom even purchased a graphics card for our family computer to run it better. I'm gonna buy Sims 1 probably as soon as I hop onto my computer today, if I can.
I have a lot of memories playing with my mother and brother, for sims 2- so I def know what you mean by that nostalgia,. we even found some packs at garage sales!

Its 100% worth it for the bundle deal, i didnt even know they were throwing kits in there but as I grew up on sims and sims 2 this is so worth it for the nostalgia alone. I missed out buying the sims 2 when it was still available on origin so i am very happy about this. Plus getting all the dlcs included is great too - we never owned any of the sims 2 dlc when i was young

It makes you wonder why IKEA isnt included on the bundle when H&M is, I first thought it was because IKEA is swedish and h&m is American, but both are swedish... Maybe is like that one plant cc fan kit that got deleted because the sims were going to have an official plant kit? Maybe the sims are planing to collab with IKEA again in the future? (Considering a lot of simmers are asking for it)

I was kind of hoping for a free upgrade if we had the free Sims 2 complete they gave out years ago, but I’m not surprised.
I might eventually get The Sims 1, I used to play it all the time.
it took years before they started selling mass effect dlc in dollars instead of the bioware points tho, and yeah i was expecting an upgrade to legendary collection if i had all the dlc, but no xD and now is cheaper, hope i gets cheaper with time
They couldn't include the Ikea stuff pack and if they just updated the ultimate collection then this most likely (definetely) would have caused an outrage with people that already owned the collection.
I just got the Sims today and I had the original game when it came out 25 years ago and all the expansions and I can tell you trying to get it to run on my computer was a pain. I didn’t mind paying $20 and I had no problems with it on my computer. It did crash after two hours. The studio town was a a little slow and I noticed a couple outfits from living and large were missing, but those were the only problems I experienced.

i bought it immediately and despite the issues i've encountered (like the sims voice audio being extremely low quality???) i don't regret it because they fixed the pink soup bug for this version. i literally could _not_ play the original release because of that bug so that being fixed is enough for me to play this version over the original
yeah some others have complained about audio quality but that's good you dodged the worst

This is EA.. I'm not surprised this launched with issues. I am going to stick to my *forbidden* version of the games because I am not paying for a game that didnt even fix the issues with modern pcs. It feels like they rereleased it to not seem like they abandoned it
I also own the forbidden version. I see no reason at all to pay for it when just reading the comments it sounds like EA did squat to make it playable.
I don’t know why they are selling kits for sims 4. I guess those are the worst selling possibly? But I’m here for it. I plan on purchasing them. But I already have all the kits.

Kits is a good idea but this release schedule isn't. Kits make me feel like we're paying $5 out of the $10 for one interactive object in a stuff pack even though a SP covers CAS & build/ buy. I think one of the buy kits has just as much stuff as a EP would. I don't remember the name of the kit.
The Sims 4 is their most profitable game in the sims series they are not doing bad as people seem to think. The kits most likely are there to compensate for Ikea stuff pack + promotion for the sims 4 and a can be considered a "freebie or a bonus".

Honestly half the stuff I see from the Sims community is pulled out of their cake maker and go with whatever sounds more dramatic with some youtubers promoting toxicity and creating echo chambers. But really the sims community is just entitled and out of touch with the rest of gaming community.
I'm not gargling on EA's dangles by the way, but there are far worse companies out there like Ubisoft who tried to push NFT's on their community twice. Every single company is working to make profit first.
Having games release broken with bugs and crashes has been an industry standard for almost a decade now. Yes they should do better, but the majority of players don''t care because they do not sit in forums or argue with people. They come home after work and play for a few hours and maybe buy a pack every now and then.
1) I wonder if Denuvo is causing the problems people are having.
2) Someone should try installing IKEA from the CD over the legacy edition to see if it works.

Game runs and plays fine for me (through Steam). Had to change graphical settings since it defaulted to "low".
Results may vary I guess? Steam has a generous two hour refund "no questions asked" policy so I'm pretty sure you can figure out if the issues apply to you within that timespan.

The trailer was a homage to the original trailers…which used real people acting like sims intercut with game footage. I liked it.
I'm wondering why they didn't update Sims 1 and 2 for those who own it instead of having everyone buy it while throwing in two kits in the mix for sale, because I'm willing to bet those kits are full price within the price band.
Anyway, it' nice they brought them back and all, just don't think I'm willing to pay ZAR600 for a game I already own with added kits I personally don't care to pay for, that may be the main irk for me tbh
I just don't understand how Sims 2 Legacy has several bugs now when Sims 2 Ultimate Collection didn't have most if any of these before. I purchased the Birthday Bundle of Sims 1 and 2 on Steam, just hoping everything gets fixed and is the way it was.
The problem is not Denuvo or the price but that it still has the same problems as the supposedly "outdated" versions.
This is the first thing in years I was planning on purchasing, only to find out it's blocked in the country I live in (South Korea). Maybe good if it's not working on release, but still a bummer if it means I won't be able to get the bundle deal. On the EA app there was the option to buy the Sims 1 separately. I bought the bundle but haven’t had the time to get in a play more than a few minutes on either game but I’m looking forward to being able to play on my gaming laptop!
The way I was so looking forward to this game since I played the OG Sims 1 when it was released... only to read the reviews about the crashing and all on Steam. I think it's really for the best that I wait a bit before making a purchase.
I would say no, sadly. The Sims 2 is missing IKEA Home Stuff #1. The Sims 2 is considered abandonedware and downloads perfectly fine on modern systems.
The Sims on the other hand, I guess has widescreen support (which is huge) but it looks to be done with minimal effort.
I would pass on this.

I am going to be getting the Sims 1 and Sims 2 Legacy Collections. I first experienced The Sims when The Sims: Hot Date originally came out and was a fan since then. Sims 2 is my favourite Sims game with Open For Business being my favourite expansion. I loved how my sim was able to fix junk cars and then selling them.
Pretty much same here, only my first experience was with Livin’ Large that my friend got for whatever holiday/birthday/I have no idea, and Hot Date came out around a month or so later. I loved all Sims 2 expansions but OFB has a special place in my heart. This re-release is such a joyous occasion to me, and probably many other older players, too.

If you don't have either it would be worth it but I'm not sure if you already own one (or both) of them. It's not a bad price, I would have expected higher (£25 in the UK) but when the only 'new' thing is avoiding the headache of getting it to run, it's value decreases. I'd only be interested in Sims 2 and I'm not in a rush for it, so I can wait.

This is something I feel like says EA is out of the loop. Yes, ts1 and 2 are what a lot of people want but that's also the problem imo. No doubt people will be saying now that ts1 & 2 are available, they can drop 4. I know there's going to be people saying we should all drop 4 and play the better games. Ugh. So yeah, kinda out of the loop. We'll have to see if there's reports of the number of players playing 4 drops. Unfortunately even a little will get people celebrating.
Also odd schedule. Thursday; play 3 new kits for ts4. Friday; you can now play ts1 & 2.
Oh and how it's not free will be an issue, but $30 for I think that's everything for both. Possibly people will complain about the graphics not being updated.

I bought the sims 1, played it for 2 hours, and it's crashed twice in that time. I wish we got actual remasters instead of just re-releases..

@@SimmerErin It was out of nowhere. I didn't really do anything to cause that crash. Once it crashed on buy mode but I hadn't clicked on any items, it just happened.

Ended up requesting a refund because neither of the games even launched in my laptop. I’ll wait to see if EA has the decency of fixing their games.
First I was like ‘I’ll do some fixes to get the games running’ but I paid 40 bucks for those games and sure as heck I’m not doing EA’s leg work. Want to give us broken games? Give them for free. You’re charging for your +20 years old game? Make sure they work as intended.
For everyone having similar issues, I think asking for a refund is the best option, it will light a fire under EA’s butts to fix their mess asap. You have 72 hours from the moment you purchase the game and 24 hours if the app register it was launched, even though my games never worked the app did register them as ‘played for 45 seconds.’ 💀

I have the Sims 2 Ultimate Collection on the EA app and I play it regularly with mods. Is there any reason for buying the 25th anniversary edition? Will EA stop supporting the sims 2 ultimate collection if you have it already installed?
Only buy it if you don't want IKEA and you want to add Denuvo DRM to the game. Plus any launching issues.

When I first heard of the release I warned my friend not to get it yet. I got both games 2 years ago and it was pretty easy to get the first game to run with some tweaking but the second one took me hours just to get the game to run properly then I had to do some extra troubleshooting due to graphical errors, not to mention the extra upgrade in graphics on top of that so it looks its best.
You pretty much have to be at least a little bit tech savvy and install a few mods if you want the most out of TS2. There's just so much you have to do to get it working on modern PCs. Seeing how complicated it was to get the game running, I knew immediately there was going to be a problem with these games once they officially released, especially given EA's track record. I highly doubt they even tested it properly on a variety of machines. Profit comes first, they know simmers will still come back to them no matter how much they slack off.
That said, I really hope they sort things out. It would be great to just download the game and play without jumping through a bunch of hoops. The issues they are having now may be why the game was originally free years previously. I hope they don't think they can get away with not fixing this properly. I could possibly see how EA's corporate leaders may not have understood what they were getting themselves into with these older games.
Anyway, if you are invested enough and want to play TS2 now, I highly recommend acottonsock's video on how to fix it up with the ultimate edition. It's not EA's legacy edition but it's worth it, many people worked very hard on getting this to work and they are very helpful on discord as well.
Those two random sims4 kits are a weird addition to the 25 year bundle. I can only imagine they did it so it looks like you are saving more money (why would you want to buy sims1 and sims2 so you can get two kits for the sims4?).

Purchased The Sims 1 & 2 bundle on Steam, test run both made a family and starter home, no issues so far on Windows 11. I am really happy they did this and allowed me to purchase on Steam, and not the EA App.

I think the pricing is somewhat fair, it's the kind of princing you would get on second hand store for example, though the bundle description wasn't clear at all on EA app, I wasn't sure if the bundle contained only both base games or the whole packages. Even if it makes more sense that it would be the whole thing I don't have much faith in EA so the lacking description of what it actually entails made me cautious and search for quite a bit of articles detailing the whole thing to be sure. I was planning to buy the whole package tonight but may hold it up since some people have been reporting crashing issues. I saw the release note for sims 2 saying one pack and some songs had to be removed due to licensing restrictions, so I guess that's the IKEA one

@@SimmerErin I'm glad you posted this! This is a PSA for future buyers! I found a work around that seems to be working for some, where you have to change the graphics settings on your Nvidia card. Unfortunately, not sure why, but mine doesn't come with that option to change the graphics setting from the control panel. I tried it from the settings panel but that didn't work either 😕. This is going to be a community effort 👏.
The IKEA Stuff pack will NOT come back if Prince Harry becomes king. It is much more important for Prince Harry to become King Henry IX than it is to add the IKEA Stuff pack to The Sims 2 Legacy Collection. Even 5th sons can and do become kings even if their older brothers had children. 🎭🩰🎨
I just saw your video and felt bad that I rushed buying it. 😢 I just bought the Birthday Bundle like 3 hours ago and was so excited to play the Sims 1 and Sims 2 😅. The Sims 1 didn’t load or run. The Sims 2 runs perfectly fine. My PC met all the system requirements and now I’m sad coz I can’t play the Sims 1. 😢

This bundle may be $39.99 for most players, but for those of us in Canada it is $54.99. That is just far, far too much for my games budget - especially if it isn't working well on high-end computers. The dx problem (my PC has dx 12) would give me the same problems I have when trying to play Sims 2 UC - and I have every TS2 EP and SP with that collection (as well as TS1, although I only have the CDs for that) so paying again? I don't think so. I am definitely going to wait to see how things unfold.

I would say having The Sims and The Sims 2 rereleased is unexpected similar to MySims' rerelease although people could see it coming given this is The Sims' 25th anniversary.
I hear that IKEA is missing in Legacy Collection. I wonder if it has to do with Electronic Arts' rights expiring that EA is no longer allowed to use IKEA. A similar thing happened with The Sims 3 with Katy Perry's Sweet Treats as well as the special edition for Showtime no longer being sold. I can understand rights and licensing could impact older games as The Urbz on the console has the Black Eyed Peas which would require renewal of licensing and it's unknown if Isis Ice's name would have to be changed due to the name "Isis" referring to the terrorist group.
To your second point, yes, I think so. That would be the most logical reason imo. I was actually not surprised to see that missing, but rather surprised to see H&M included
I think this is a great way to play Sims 1. I own Sims 1 ultimate collection on disk and it’s an absolute disaster to play on modern computers. I try to get the mod work around and it never worked. I’ve never owned the complete version of Sims 2 so I’m glad this exists.

yeah that is true i agree with you on that. i’ve only played cas so far on 2 i have yet to jump into gameplay on either game so haven’t experienced the bugs everyone is talking about. my judgement is def just clouded since i finally get to experience the best installments in the series. i hope EA doesn’t ruin the experience for me w these bugs 😩

That’s what I’m wondering. Sims 1 wouldn’t even run at modern resolutions. If it does and is 64-bit, I’ll consider purchasing it, but I don’t think I’ll buy the Sims 2 collection without IKEA stuff.

I think It's rather continue to buy things for the Sims 4. There a new expansion pack coming and It's rather save my money for that than buy old versions of the game. I bought all these games and packs before, it's hard for me to fork over money for things I've already purchased but no longer have access to. Over the years that was a huge amount of money. I have access to the Sims 2 ultimate collection so I didn't know if they are patching that for those of us who already got it.

I no longer have The Sims, but The Sims 2 is in my EA App, I just haven't installed it. I also don't have The Sims 3 installed in its entirety because the game no longer recognizes some of the CD keys as valid, anymore.

I have already bought the big bundle, but I would also say that if you are only 'tempted' to buy them do wait. I have experienced several crashes and severe bugs and glitches. I'm really curious to see if they will be resolved in the future or if this is just the state of the game forever...
(one of my bugs in sims2 is that my sim can only cook pancakes and all other foods I've tried so far will use up resources but disappear before placing. Anyone else? XD)

I heard of someone who cannot keep anything they cook or eat it. so seems there is a weird mix of cooking bugs, but I have no idea what the cause is
@ I don't know either x) After playing for a while longer, I've gotten several other bugs as well (with attraction, jobs and more). Keeping my sims alive on cheating her hunger away... haha
