In 2014 Stevie did a very limited "Songs in the Key of Life: 40th anniversary" tour, and played this whole album from start to finish. It was absolutely one of my top concert experiences ever.
This album is the definition of all hits no misses. If you want funk, you got it. You want ballads, he got it. You want smooth RnB, yes sir! Even some jazz and fusion. And these are hits. If these songs dropped on the radio today they would be just as big honestly. The most complete album I’ve ever heard.
Stevie’s music sounds like a well oiled machine that’s *NSYNC with itself. Every time I here mr Wonders music since the 70s I hear something beautiful I hadn’t noticed before. The combination and drive behind his beautiful voice that God gave him. I especially love when he’s ready to stop singing about it when he declares, “ now ain’t that lovin you?” I tear up every time. You have to listen to him sing with Sting the song Fragile. Stevie always out does himself. Mr. Wonder and I am the same age and I have just about every song he’s ever sang starting with Castles In The Sands.🥰♥️🤟😌
To me, As is the greatest song ever written. Is it my favorite song? No. Is Stevie Wonder my favorite artist? No. If you told me I could only have one song on my desert island, As, would be my choice. This song is otherworldly and grounded at the same time.
The voice that’s different in the middle is Stevie‘s growling music voice! He does this in many of his songs. It’s amazing. He’s an amazing musician, lyricist, vocalist, most amazing talent
Oh boy. Something about not being familiar with Stevie’s voice. And yes that was Stevie all the way through. Time to take a deep dive into the world of Stevie Wonder. I’d say try Boogie On Reggae Woman or Don’t You Worry Bout A Thing, then go from there 🙏🙏🙏💯💯💯
Wonder was born Stevland Hardaway Judkins Morris in Saginaw, Michigan, on May 13, 1950. renamed Little Stevie Wonder. Wonder's single "Fingertips" was a No. 1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1963, at the age of 13, making him the youngest solo artist ever to top that chart.10 No. 1 Hits...28 Top 10 Hits. and multiple Grammys, as well as 20 R&B number one hits, and has sold over 100 million records, 19.5 million of which are albums; he is one of the top 60 best-selling music artists with combined sales of singles and albums. A major influence in music history like few others.
Only The Beatles has a slightly deeper rabbit hole. Stevie is a music God and for sure you will know plenty of his classics without even knowing it was him.
"I Probably Know Some Stevie Wonder Songs"... I smiled. I have his entire song playlist in my collection. If I tried to give suggestions it would take over an hour of typing.... Here's some favs.... For Once In My Life....I Was Made To Love Her....My Cherie Amour....Knocks Me Off My Feet..... Golden Lady....Overjoyed....All In Love Is Fair....I Just Called to Say I Love You.... just for starters
Stevie was everything. He was a songwriter, composer, arranger, and a voice that time has hidden from later generations. Here are a few other selections I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend for an instant: I Was Made to Love Her, I Wish, Superstition, Living for the City, For Once in My Life, You Are the Sunshine of My Life, Uptight, Maybe Your Baby, Higher Ground, Don’t You Worry About a Thing. Cheers!
As a lot of people will probably tell you JM, this album is nothing less than a masterpiece and all instrumentation and voices are Stevie all the way. This record should really be regarded as an American National Treasure, there are no accolades suitable to describe its greatness. I hope you find the time to react to every track on it.
One of the all-time greatest albums. Stevie is truly a musical genius. Saw a documentary on him and they talked about him joining Motown at age 11. They said he was fascinated with the Motown studio musicians, the Funk Brothers. He was like a sponge and soaked up everything he could and learned their instruments until he was able to play just about all of them himself. He is a national treasure, a civil rights activist and a humanitarian. God blessed Stevie. Thank you for your reaction. 👏👏👏🥰👍
That was Stevie singing the deep guttural voice. Another beautiful Stevie song that was part of my wedding was Ribbons in the Sky. Stevie has an iconic voice. He started out at 12 years old as Little Stevie Wonder, singing and playing harmonica.
That was Stevie Wonder's voice. He has a raspy voice sometimes- even in "Jammin'"(Master Blaster. It's his tribute to Bob Marley). But yeah, one of the greatest songwriters ever. And I mean ever.
YES! One of my all time favorite songs! Stevie Wonder is a musical genius and his lyrics are downright poetry; “Until the day is night and night becomes the day”. Now ain’t that lovin you!!! 🔥
My good friend John Zov does this song with his right hand playing the lead on Fender Rhodes Piano and left hand on a Hammond B3 Organ with his feet doing the Bass Pedals, singing with a fabulous voice while the audience cheers. One of the most musically talented people I know of, and I know most all of the better artist.
As around the sun the earth knows she's revolving And the rosebuds know to bloom in early may Just as hate knows love's the cure You can rest your mind assure That I'll be loving you always As now can't reveal the mystery of tomorrow But in passing will grow older every day Just as all that's born is new You know what I say is true That I'll be loving you always always (Until the ocean covers every mountain high) always (Until the dolphin flies and parrots live at sea) always (Until we dream of life and life becomes a dream) Did you know that true love asks for nothing Her acceptance is the way we pay Did you know that life has given love a guarantee To last through forever and another day Just as time knew to move on since the beginning And the seasons know exactly when to change Just as kindness knows no shame Know through all your joy and pain That I'll be loving you always As today I know I'm living but tomorrow Could make me the past but that I mustn't fear For I'll know deep in my mind The love of me I've left behind 'Cause I'll be loving you always always (Until the trees and seas just up and fly away) always (Until the day that eight times eight times eight is four) always (Until the day that is the day that are no more) Did you know you're loved by somebody? (Until the day the earth starts turnin' right to left) always (Until the earth just for the sun denies itself) I'll be lovin' you forever (Until dear mother nature says her work is through) always (Until the day that you are me and I am you) always (Until the rainbow burns the stars out in the sky) Until the ocean severs every mountain high) always We all know sometimes life hates and troubles Can make you wish you were born in another time and space But you can bet your lifetimes that and twice it's double That god knew exactly where he wanted you to be placed So make sure when you say you're in it, but not of it You're not helpin' to make this earth A place sometimes called hell Change your words into truths And then change that truth into love And maybe our children's grandchildren And their great grandchildren will tell I'll be loving you Until the rainbow burns the stars out in the sky Loving you Until the ocean covers every mountain high Loving you Until the dolphin flies and parrots live at sea Loving you Until we dream of life and life becomes a dream Be loving you Until the day is night and night becomes the day Loving you Until the trees and seas up, up and fly away Loving you Until the day that eight times eight times eight is four Loving you Until the day that is the day that are no more Loving you Until the day the earth starts turning right to left Be loving you Until the earth just for the sun denies itself Loving you Until dear mother nature says her work is through Loving you Until the day that you are me and I am you Now ain't that loving you (Until the rainbow burns the stars out in the sky) Ain't that loving you (Until the ocean covers every mountain high) and I've got to say always (Until the dolphin flies and parrots live at sea) always (Until we dream of life and life becomes a dream) (Until the day is night and night becomes the day) always (Until the trees and seas just up and fly away) always (Until the day that eight times eight times eight is four) (Until the day that is the day that are no more) always (Until the day the earth starts turning right to left) (Until the earth just for the sun denies itself) always (Until dear mother nature says her work is through) (Until the day that you are me and I am you) (Until the rainbow burns the stars out in the sky) (Until the ocean covers every mountain high) (Until the dolphin flies and parrots live at sea) (Until we dream of life and life becomes a dream) (Until the day is night and night becomes the day) (Until the trees and seas just up and fly away) (Until the day that eight times eight times eight is four) (Until the day that is the day that are no more) (Until the day the earth starts turning right to left) (Until the earth just for the sun denies itself) (Until dear mother nature says her work is through) (Until the day that you are me and I am you) Songwriters: Stevie Wonder
Yes indeed I love this music and I’m a drummer into a black metal band and let me tell you some drumming here in there sounds as some metal , so freaking beautiful
Saw his live tour in 2014 when he performed this whole album. He then played another hour. It was unbelievable! I cried in awe through the whole concert. A huge tick off my bucket list, thanks to my youngest son. ❤
This made by day. What a wonderful spiritual song, and yes that's all Stevie on the vocals, such an amazing talent and the very definition of genius. You DEFINITELY have to do more of Mr Wonder, brother!
One of my favorite performers in history with a spectacular voice from a first class Lady..... Night of the Proms | Donna Summer - McArthur Park (2005)
You should explore the entire album, it’s a masterpiece. All of Stevie’s 70s output was excellent, Try living for the city, superstition, Higher ground, and too high, that’ll get you going!
A masterpiece, that has a special meaning for me (as I'm sure it does many others). When I was growing up we used to fly back to my family's home country every couple of summers, and this was one of the songs featured on the in-flight playlist. We're talking back in the days of pneumatic tube headphones, before even Walkmen came out. So every time I hear it, it brings me back to those simpler days. Also, Al Stewart's Year of the Cat, and a few others.
I am a great fan of Stevie Wonder since 1978, when this album was released. I was Only16 years old and for several years I listened ONLY to Stevie Wonder's songs. I've seen 5 of his live shows and they were fantastic! Yes, it's Stevie's the different voice we hear in the middle of the song and in this part (the most spiritual of the song) he makes a reference to the Gospel of John ("when you say you're in it but not of it"). The fantastic Rhodes piano is played by the great jazzist Herbie Hancock .
My favorite Stevie Song. It literally has it all. Hope yiu check out some of his "deeper" tracks. "Mistra know it all" "Boogie on Reggae Woman" "Do I Do" "Pastime Paradise " and "Too High" Not too many artists had a run like Stevie did from 1970-1977.
This album is a Masterpiece, and also my all-time favorite SW album. The entire album deserves a listen. One of my favorite tracks on this album is "Joy Inside My Tears". Please add this to your reaction list; you won't be sorry! Thanks again for another great reaction and song choice, JM! ✌💙✌
Dude you have no idea what you just listened to. Go back and listen to some other hit’s of his back when he first started, then move up to today. He will blow your mind. And yes that was Stevie he just changed his voice a bit.
One of the greatest albums of all time. Start to finish. A true masterpiece.
Yes indeed❤❤
100 %
I have to agree! It’s a perfect double album

My favorite Stevie song !!!!!
Until dolphins fly and parrots fill the sea … I’ll be lovin you always
Stevie usually plays most of the instruments on his recordings minus horns and sometimes has uses a different drummer but does play the drums well.
Stevie at his best, great track from a great album.
The voice that’s different in the middle is Stevie‘s growling music voice! He does this in many of his songs. It’s amazing. He’s an amazing musician, lyricist, vocalist, most amazing talent
Quite simply the greatest love song ever penned.
Some respect to Stevie’s piano on the break! Loving you until the day you are me and I am you 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

I assembled the Fender Rhodes Electric Piano used in this tune, and many others
I saw Stevie in concert in the mid 1970’s in Milwaukee , Wisconsin. Excellent.
Great song. One of my favorites from Stevie.
Only The Beatles has a slightly deeper rabbit hole.
Stevie is a music God and for sure you will know plenty of his classics without even knowing it was him.
One of the most beautiful songs ever written.
Overjoyed stevie wonder.cover by putri ariani in malaysia concert

Also, Don't You Worry Bout a Thing, Master Blaster, Boogie On Reggae Woman, and of course Do I Do.
I love Golden Lady too!
Yes, all vocals are Stevie 😊
I bought this album when it came out and I was in the 7th grade! My lifelong songs! Stevie!
I saw Stevie at the Fox in Detroit, he was 12.
Modern poetry with musicianship.......that's Stevie Wonder! ❤
Stevie was everything. He was a songwriter, composer, arranger, and a voice that time has hidden from later generations. But yeah, one of the greatest songwriters ever. And I mean ever.
I love his fight with the devil at 4:18.
His angels won.
Oh honey.... I could list at least 30 songs off the top of my head. LOVE me some Steveland Morris.
YES! One of my all time favorite songs! Stevie Wonder is a musical genius and his lyrics are downright poetry; “Until the day is night and night becomes the day”. Now ain’t that lovin you!!! 🔥
A masterclass in how to make a superb, never gets old, album. I saw him in London and he was pretty bloody fabulous. Early 80s.
This is in my top five favorite albums of all time
My good friend John Zov does this song with his right hand playing the lead on Fender Rhodes Piano and left hand on a Hammond B3 Organ with his feet doing the Bass Pedals, singing with a fabulous voice while the audience cheers. As around the sun the earth knows she's revolving
And the rosebuds know to bloom in early may
Just as hate knows love's the cure
You can rest your mind assure
That I'll be loving you always
As now can't reveal the mystery of tomorrow
But in passing will grow older every day
Just as all that's born is new
You know what I say is true
That I'll be loving you always
always
(Until the ocean covers every mountain high) always
(Until the dolphin flies and parrots live at sea) always
(Until we dream of life and life becomes a dream)
Did you know that true love asks for nothing
Her acceptance is the way we pay
Did you know that life has given love a guarantee
To last through forever and another day
Just as time knew to move on since the beginning
And the seasons know exactly when to change
Just as kindness knows no shame
Know through all your joy and pain
That I'll be loving you always
As today I know I'm living but tomorrow
Could make me the past but that I mustn't fear
For I'll know deep in my mind
The love of me I've left behind
'Cause I'll be loving you always
always
(Until the trees and seas just up and fly away) always
(Until the day that eight times eight times eight is four) always
(Until the day that is the day that are no more)
Did you know you're loved by somebody?
(Until the day the earth starts turnin' right to left) always
(Until the earth just for the sun denies itself) I'll be lovin' you forever
(Until dear mother nature says her work is through) always
(Until the day that you are me and I am you) always
(Until the rainbow burns the stars out in the sky)
Until the ocean severs every mountain high) always
We all know sometimes life hates and troubles
Can make you wish you were born in another time and space
But you can bet your lifetimes that and twice it's double
That god knew exactly where he wanted you to be placed
So make sure when you say you're in it, but not of it
You're not helpin' to make this earth
A place sometimes called hell
Change your words into truths
And then change that truth into love
And maybe our children's grandchildren
And their great grandchildren will tell
I'll be loving you
Until the rainbow burns the stars out in the sky
Loving you
Until the ocean covers every mountain high
Loving you
Until the dolphin flies and parrots live at sea
Loving you
Until we dream of life and life becomes a dream
Be loving you
Until the day is night and night becomes the day
Loving you
Until the trees and seas up, up and fly away
Loving you
Until the day that eight times eight times eight is four
Loving you
Until the day that is the day that are no more
Loving you
Until the day the earth starts turning right to left
Be loving you
Until the earth just for the sun denies itself
Loving you
Until dear mother nature says her work is through
Loving you
Until the day that you are me and I am you
Now ain't that loving you
(Until the rainbow burns the stars out in the sky) Ain't that loving you
(Until the ocean covers every mountain high) and I've got to say always
(Until the dolphin flies and parrots live at sea) always
(Until we dream of life and life becomes a dream)
(Until the day is night and night becomes the day) always
(Until the trees and seas just up and fly away) always
(Until the day that eight times eight times eight is four)

(Until the day the earth starts turning right to left)
(Until the earth just for the sun denies itself)

Songwriters: Stevie Wonder
The cymbal work on this is extraordinary. Just one piece of a wondrous creation.
Yes indeed I love this music and I’m a drummer into a black metal band and let me tell you some drumming here in there sounds as some metal , so freaking beautiful
Love me some Stevie. I want this song played when I pass away.

"Another Star" from the same album. Great reactions 🎸
Damn you're good-looking. Nice reaction, too.
Had to write another comment: React to Stevie Wonder’s “PASTIME PARADISE”; if you know 90’s Hip Hop, you WILL Immediately recognize it!!!!!!❤❤❤
the best album ever !
2:35 where you make your fool of yourself dancing wherever it is you hear the song
Wonderful album.
Steve did all the vocals Herbie Hancock was one of the keyboard players

Mary J Blige and George Michael did a nice cover of As 😪 RIP George
Tha jam!
More!!!!!!!! "All I Do", " Ribbon in the Sky ", OMG a genius.
Musical perfection!!!
Herbie Hancock plays on this track. Called it the privilege of a lifetime.
Stevie is on the same pedestal as the Beatles. An innovative game changer.
This album is a Masterpiece, and also my all-time favorite SW album. The entire album deserves a listen. One of my favorite tracks on this album is "Joy Inside My Tears". Please add this to your reaction list; you won't be sorry! Thanks again for another great reaction and song choice, JM! ✌💙✌
brilliant
All vocals was Stevie. Herbie Hancock keyboard.
He played all the instruments pre recording so when the musicians came in they knew exactly how he wanted the song to sound. Prince copied that method
jmBOY please to George michale video cover song AS by stevie wonder it's lit and smooth. thanks be safe peace johnnyboy.
