The genius of Stevie can’t be overstated. Marvin’s, “What’s Going On,” Curtis Mayfield and others gave us the real world along with many others. Man, we had such great music growing up in this Era…. ✨
The first few times I heard this song it was a an edited version, without the part where he gets off the bus, etc.. But when I heard the full version my appreciation for the song went through the roof. Stevie Wonder is a superb talent, with a powerful message in his music.
Whether you do it privately on your own time or on the channel, you owe it to yourself to listen to this entire album. Stevie is a living legend, musical genius, lifelong activist, a songwriting machine and spiritually enlightened human being. You are probably too young to know but his song Happy Birthday to you was the anthem of the movement that led to Martin Luther King having a national holiday in his honor. Dive on in. The water's fine😌🙏🔥
This is a very telling song. I am glad you picked this version. They did not play the last half on the radio when it was out. So much truth in this song. "I hope you hear inside my voice of sorrow" wow.
In a documentary on Motown and the Funk Brothers, it was stated that when Stevie first signed with Motown he was 11 years old. He very quickly came to know the musicians well, the Funk Brothers. He spent time with them and learned each instrument. They enjoyed teaching him, but as one of them said, they didn’t teach for long because he was such a fast learner and before long he was able to play every instrument. He is a national treasure for sure. Thanks for the great reaction. 👏👏🥰
Love Stevie and every track he’s ever done, his writing, his voice, his energy, instrumental arrangements -everything. If you can, check out a cover of this song by Swedish fusion trio Dirty Loops. A shorter version, only four verses or so, but so funky, bluesy and jazzy, -great in a different way. Oh yeah, and a sweet bass solo delivered by bass god Henrik Linder 🔥 Link below 🙏
Few individuals were blessed with so many musical gifts - Brian Wilson, Freddie Mercury, Prince - but imho Stevie sits at the top of the pyramid. Another perceptive reaction !
Stevie's songs are amazing! His music's funky and the lyrics were so important, especially during the 70's. Suggestion: Stevie's "YOU HAVEN'T DONE NOTHING'". I read that the song was directed at Richard Nixon, just before he stepped down as president. This was back in the 70's, but could be politically applicable now?
"Uptight (Everything's Alright)" a Motown huge smash hit single released back in 1965 by Stevie Wonder in the earlier days of his career was smokin' hot for that time period. Additional instrumentation by 'The Funk Brothers' on the recording enhances the rhythmic fast-moving of Stevie's song. The song definitely gets ya movin'. 💫🎤🎸🎺🥁🎵🎶🔊🔥📻🎧
"Little Ole Man (Uptight, Everything's Alright)" co-written by Stevie Wonder and sang/recorded and released by the well-known comedian Bill Cosby back in 1967 is a fast-paced flamin' hot single that might be worth checking out. 🎭🎤🎸🎺🥁🔊🔥☮📻🎧
You need to listen to his song "I was made to love her" this song is a very early song, he was only 16 when he sang this song. It is my favourite song of his such a heartfelt song for a young man. He is a natural talent.
THANK YOU...THAT'S A GREAT ANALYSIS OF THIS SONG AND (as a baby-boomer) ALREADY EXPERIENCING A SIMILAR LIFE, THE MESSAGE IS JUST PROPHETIC & RELEVANT TODAY...STEVIE IS A GENIUS!
I played this album so so much, I absolutely loved it! We love you Stevie Wonder. Hope you react to his song You And I. Thank you for your reaction, even though the lyrics must have hit home, he sure got his point across!
"A boy is born in hard time Mississippi Surrounded by four walls that ain't so pretty" Those four walls are the states of Alabama, Tennessee, Arkansas and Louisiana
Because he didn't come from the rock world, Stevie Wonder's amazing string of perfect 70s albums is too frequently overlooked. He was a greater genius than Bowie.
Your interpretation is great for a first listen. I believe it would have been exact if the context of the time was more familiar to you. The brother was bright but naive to street life. Back then drug 'runners' were a thing. 90% of these crimes came with a steep price to pay for young African-Americans. This song gives a sober view into our communities at the time. Definitely not all music and dancing. BUT...this was a straight jam though! 🎶🤭
Sad that you don't know who Stevie Wonder is 😮 guess now you know that he doesn't do rock music. He was a Motwn artist while you were in your mother's arms.
His parents gave him love and affection, to keep him moving in the right direction.... we have to find a way to put fathers back in home. Children of every race excell by every matrix when raised in a 2 parent home over children who are not
Every instrument you heard in this song was Stevie. He is a fantastic drummer, and most of that whole album is him playing on it. A true masterpiece.
Stevie Wonder is a true living legend. This album is a Classic. He's preaching the truth in this song...
Stevie's been on the correct side of humanity for 6 decades. Smart to remember that when you see whose presidential convention he sang at.

Stevie is what you call an originator. They don't make them like him anymore!
50 years ago, artists made music that we all could feel. It made a difference. Love Stevie for his continued efforts for justice, peace and love.

Stevie Wonder is a masterpiece!
INNERVISIONS is my FAVORITE Stevie Wonder album, but from the 60s until the eighties, EVERY Stevie song is JOY and ART!
Few individuals were blessed with so many musical gifts - Brian Wilson, Freddie Mercury, Prince - but imho Stevie sits at the top of the pyramid. Another perceptive reaction !
Innervisions.
This is sometimes my favorite Stevie Wonder song. Its so good .
I like that, "sometimes".... I feel you
After 50 years....still a masterpiece!!! Stevie is a genius. He is my all-time favorite artist!!!!
One of my favorite Stevie songs, from the bass to the vibing EP to of course Stevie’s singing. And he’s 23 years old! Genius.
All these older albums are golden! Inner Visions, Fulfillingness First Finale, Talking Book. Every song on every album is a banger.
This whole album is worth a reaction. Every song.

Suggestion: Stevie's "YOU HAVEN'T DONE NOTHING'". I read that the song was directed at Richard Nixon, just before he stepped down as president. This was back in the 70's, but could be politically applicable now?
Stevie is the best!
He still sounded great at the last Grammys. I think they brought him on the show to show the young people how not to use Autotune.
A story that still applies today.
Stevie is a phenomenal artist--singer, songwriter, multi instrumentalist. Gorgeous voice!
He is a gift to the world! A genius.
Stevie was also a child star just Like Michael Jackson.. Both Amazing
Brilliant album!
Greatness. Every single bit of it.
My favorite Stevie Wonder song
Glad you did the long version - that's what turns it from a great song to a work of art.
Thanks for reacting to this forgotten song.
It's not forgotten.
Stevie Wonder is a musical genius

oh baby boy.....this is a must!
Stevie lands the last note in the chorus with a large dose of soul. Great song.
I’ve been listening to this song and album since I was 15 (I’m 66). It still leaves me speechless
THANK YOU...THAT'S A GREAT ANALYSIS OF THIS SONG AND (as a baby-boomer) ALREADY EXPERIENCING A SIMILAR LIFE, THE MESSAGE IS JUST PROPHETIC & RELEVANT TODAY...STEVIE IS A GENIUS!
Tha cut then & now!
What an amazing talent. Stevie was another one of those artist that was innthe mix of the music I grew up with.
I'm 61 and still enjoy this today.
Back in the day.🙂 .Music is Magic !
Stevie. Legend
Stevie is in the running for the greatest musical artist of the 20th century.
Check out "Higher Ground ".❤
I played this album so so much, I absolutely loved it! We love you Stevie Wonder. Hope you react to his song You And I. Thank you for your reaction, even though the lyrics must have hit home, he sure got his point across!
Serious vision for a blind man.

my all-time fave Stevie jam.
Stevie gave us so much of the greatest music ever!
❤❤❤ U STEVIE ♥️♥️♥️

Stevie Wonder ❤❤❤❤
A great tune.
A masterpiece .
One of my favs of his. Would like to see you react to his song Gold.
Beautiful.
Terrific discussion on this one, JM. Thank you.
The next Stevie Wonder song has got to be " the wish".... please
Now we're talking. Stevie Wonder who does it better. Been a long time... thanks
This song is the OG "The Message", I'm sure Grandmaster Flash And The Furious Five have been inspired by it.

Speaking of The City, has anyone ever heard the song 'The City' by the Dismemberment Plan? It's one of my all-time favorites 😊
Like the Marvin Gaye you just reviewed another song from when they used to talk about the stuff that matters
👍🏻👍🏻💯❤️❤️🔥🔥🔥🔥
The words to this song are disturbing to me, I will say no more. If you know what I mean, you know what I mean💯💙🇺🇲✌️
Some of your lyrics are off. You read "he tried and fought" but the words are "he tried to vote".
With what happened yesterday I hope we don't back to that

This is about racism no more to say, you don't see the real meaning you have to live in these times.
