  • In this video, I show how I replaced the serpentine drive belt on my Jeep Patriot 2009 2.4L with air conditioning. (World Engine)
To describe the work in detail, I made many step-by-step illustrations to show the overall views of the pulleys hidden behind the front frame structure.
During the work, I made sure all the pulleys designed with v-grooves, were properly matching with the grooves of the belt.
Note: Some people and documents recommend completing the belt routing on the alternator pulley, but personally, because there was not enough room to manoeuvre freely my hands and the belt, I preferred to finish the routing around the air conditioning compressor pulley.
Wrench size: 16mm or 5/8 in.

Best mechanic youtuber ever. Instead of close ups on places you cant tell what your looking at, he zooms out and makes an entire CAD drawing for each step to follow along with. Legendary.

My jeep's belt broke, just before I could sell it. I thought this was going to cost me a bit of money, in terms of towing it and repairing it at a mechanic shop. Then I came across your video. The amount of detail, schematics and step by step information was THE BEST I have seen from any DIY car repair videos. Just wow, thank you so much!

I just wanted to say thank you for your jeep patriot videos. They have saved me over $2,000 in the last month. I have used your videos to change my front brakes and rotors, the serpentine belt, and alternator. I am the least mechanically inclined person I know, but your videos have given me the confidence to attempt projects that I never expected to be able to compete. Thank you for making these videos and keep up the good work.

The pulleys are in the same locations on a 2.0 engine, in case anyone is wondering like I was. I just did mine today.
