I adored Shimmers as a kid. I had the centaur and deer and have been slowly finding a few this year. The hair is actually quite good quality (I ever remember that from when I was little). I'm pretty sure it's nylon. You might just have to clean it up a bit to get its sleekness back. The other accessory was often like a little apron or skirt kind of thing that would tie around them, nothing special.

I just finished washing them and I noticed that the hair is really nice. Especially the bird girl with the green hair got immediately better just with conditioner. And yeah, feels like Pony hair. I will do my flat iron technique on the blue hair same as I do with pony hair and I'm sure the hair will get nice again 😉❤

I've never seen shimmers outside of my own collection. I have 10 from my childhood, with their little babies and combs, and yeah...they're super cute!
I found the deer, Meadow, thrifting a few years ago. I agree they are really beautiful! Amazing you got a double set! 💕💕

I have the complete set of the same butterfly Shimmers. Always wanted the yellow deer and the wing mermaid that you got. They are expensive for me too in Canada. Never found in the wild either.

Yeah, at least one of the deer or centaur ones I definitely want to get one day. They are just very special toys. I cross my fingers for both of us to find some affordable ones 💕😉🤞

I had those Bully ponies and especially I loved the pink unicorn one. I pretended it was Buttons, because she was my favourite from G1 show and I never saw real Buttons in toystores in Poland.

Haha~ that's perfect 😆 she makes a goid Buttons. Yes I can totally imagine if you wanted to specifically have one if the ponies of the TV series, that you were not able to find the toy. Very in contrast to the modern pony generations 4 and 5 where they totally over produced toys of the main characters to make sure to always have those in the shelves available😅
@@LauSkypainter that's a very good point, G4 and G5 have rarely "proper" figures (proper for me means brushable mane and tail, standard pony size) for other characters than main ones. That's a real shame, especially for G4, because there were so many fun characters in the show! That is why G1 toyline is far superior in my opinion than the next ones, more variety of ponies :)
@@JakubCerlica I toooooootally agree!!! Especially for collecting the lines it is so much more fun. One of the big negative points of G4 for me.
BUT for children much easier to get their favorite main charecters in toy form. It comes with pros and cons😉 But I highly prefer more character variety!!!
@@LauSkypainter overall I think toylines from 80s/90s were more fun and I think quality of the toys was better. Nowadays those toys typically made for children are very simple and made from the worse materials. On the other hand companies like Hasbro etc. also are making lines for adult collectors. That is great, but I don't know, toys from back in the day were great toys and also great collectibles items 😅

I think I've seen Shimmers before, but I didn't know what they were. Do you collect Kenner Glamour Gals or Mattel Dazzle figures?

About Glamour Gals or Dazzle, I don't collect any of the miniature fashion dolls from the 70s/80s. I think Topper Dawn or Hasbros Disco Girls are also similar. I don't really like them. The only "realistic" fashion doll line I collect is Barbie. Everything else I prefer to be more fantasy, cutesy, whimsical, fairytail like in my collection.
