I played it for 30 seconds, still in a box in the utube feed, thinking I'd scroll by, but the fraternal drama unfolding by your calm narration, made clicking it up compelling. Thank you for this; it is all so much better than any history class.
It made me chuckle, likening the behaviour of the whole navy to a sole man standing there, strolling up and down it's length, fidgeting and stretching, some sighing and cloud gazing for strength, while trying to decide what to do
Back to Civil War videos? Nice. Lovely recap, Crosser. While the Navy Yard wasn't completely destroyed, and it's understandable given the sheer amount of resources present, they did a pretty thorough job regarding the vessels, Looking forward to the next videos on this series, mate. Well done.
Nice to see you branching out to other wars/eras. I knew the Merrimack was not a great vessel, but I didn’t know it was so young and unstable at the time the CSA took possession and turned her into the ‘Virginia’.
I know this is not the topic of the video, but today is the 83rd anniversary of the Battle of the Denmark Strait, and the sinking of HMS Hood. RIP to everyone who served and died on her.
Quite fascinating and it's nice to see videos on Civil War ironclads. Would you consider doing a similar video on the CSS Tennessee from the Battle of Mobile Bay?
I was curious about this, very fascinating! Thank you for the history, yet again, and I hope you have a great Summer, also. Take care, and all the best.
The model you show has a flatter bottom than the copy of the original plan you show. Hm. I bought a 1/700 scale Virginia/Monitor dual kit many years ago, from the Polish resin producer Modelkraak. Both kits scale out very closely, and Monitor isn't a horrible representation. Virginia, however, is. It's as though some one was given a verbal description only to go by. Awful and unbbuildable, scratch building would be easier. Thanks for posting!

Its remarkable the resources the CSA put in to recover and rebuild the Merrimack in the state that she was in!

My hope is to create a video on the building/service/and losses of each type of ironclad from the American Civil War. Tennessee will appear one day.
Can you include the actual words when quoting? Looking forward to part 2
A+
