Fun Fact: if you re-watch the Wild Bill Leather Shop scene you can see something odd. Keep looking outside the window behind Mills and Somerset. You'll notice a man approach the window. A man in a trench coat with a limp holding an umbrella. He even moves closer to the window and he's just watching Mills and Somerset. Wild Bill is even remarking that the client who ordered the blade strap-on had a limp. He's there the entire scene just watching. Mills even turns a looks at him. It's John, they just don't know his face. He even turns away from the window and walks away as Mills and Somerset exit.

Nobody said he wasn't "in stuff" before that.
The OP stated "Kevin Spacey was already a big star at the time".
I pointed out that he was not.
Go on, tell me, what roles pre 1995 did Spacey have that qualified him as a big star?
He had tiny parts in a few movies & nothing of note other than
-being 6th billed in Glengarry Glen Ross, which was a critical success but a box office bomb
      - indie Swimming With Sharks, which received fair reviews yet negligible box office, with him in a lead role.
      -5th billing in Henry & June...another flop.
-3rd billing in the Denis Leary vehicle "the ref"...another bomb.
$34 million in box office in 4 films where had a notable billing.. .which is pathetic.
So again, how was he a big star and not just some guy who was "in stuff"?

  • @BigGator5
    @BigGator5 Год назад +14

    "What's in the box?"
Fun Fact: When filming the "sloth" victim scene, the SWAT officers were NOT told that the victim was still alive. When the victim coughs and scares the SWAT officers, that reaction is real.
Location Location Fact: The diner that Somerset (Morgan Freeman) and Tracy (Gwyneth Paltrow) meet at is the same diner that Denzel Washington and Ethan Hawke meet at in Training Day (2001). In fact, they meet in the same booth. It's the Quality Coffee Shop in downtown LA.
Standing Together Fact: The ending in the movie is the ending in the original draft of the screenplay that the actors and director had signed on to. Producer Arnold Kopelson had it re-written, and the ending was changed to John Doe (Kevin Spacey) kidnapping Tracy (Gwyneth Paltrow), with Mills and Somerset racing to save her life. When David Fincher, Brad Pitt, and Morgan Freeman read the new ending, they all demanded that the original ending be put back in or they wouldn't do the movie.
Art Over Ego Fact: The producers intended that Kevin Spacey should receive top billing at the start of the movie, but he insisted that his name not appear in the opening credits, so as to surprise the audience with the identity of the killer. To compensate, he is listed twice in the closing credits, once before the credits start rolling and once in the rolling credits in order of appearance. Another advantage from Spacey's point of view, as he saw it, was that he was excluded from the film's marketing during its release, meaning he didn't have to make any public appearances or do any interviews.

Gluttony is the sin of needless overindulgence. I know you're a fan of the Tudors and Henry VIII in his later years is a perfect example of gluttony.

The final part of John's plan is brilliant and horrifying. I've always wondered if he had another plan for Wrath before he first encountered Mills in the stairwell and took his picture. Whatever his other plan might have been, it couldn't have been more perfect than this. What do you do for Wrath, after all? Each death needed to fit the sin, and Wrath is a difficult one. Do you reflect abuse back on an abuser, maybe? Do you commit an act of violence against someone who had killed? It doesn't feel poetic enough. So instead you do the most horrible thing you can do to someone like Mills -- someone filled with anger who feeds off his emotions -- you make his anger and his strength worthless. All of David's rage accomplished nothing beyond giving John Doe exactly what he wanted. It ruined his career and future, completed John's masterpiece, and could do nothing to save his wife. In a sense, Tracy, who was gentle and kind, died for Wrath.

Pride - over confidence is a form but not limited to just this merit
Sloth - over sleeping, just being utterly overly lazy but not limited
Gluttony - eating more than you should
Envy - wanting anything that isnt yours to have( someone's else's food, someones wife, someone's else house, something you can live without but you choose to take it without a second thought knowing the ramifications and consequences)
Greed - hoarding is a form,it poisoning the mind, you will do whatever it takes to keep or steal something .
Lust - dare i need to explain.. most of us are adults here(i think we already know) but heres an softer version "being in love with the ideal" of something or someone knowing that person would never reciprocate the same values or emotions you have." Again you forcing yourself or projecting yourself unto someone else or something else .

Major, if you get a rottie, it is VERY IMPORTANT to invest in professional training very early on, starting from when he’s a puppy. Do your research, meet the parents of the dog, learn everything you can about that breed, start looking into trainers and pick one before you bring the dog home. Training can be expensive, but whatever it is, you gotta be ready to pay it, and do exactly what they say. You do not want an untrained rottie in the house with a small child. They can be great sweet dogs, but they have more power and muscle in their jaws than you have in your arm, and they can cause serious injury or death without even meaning to. If a rottie is even a little bit aggressive, it’s a huge problem. If you choose to be the owner of a dog like that, you gotta do everything right. That’s not a b¡tchy little chihuahua, that’s a kiIIer.

I saw this movie in the theaters at the end of its run. I went with two other friends and we were the only ones in the theater, for which I'm very grateful. Midway through this movie I apologized to the guys down front with me and spent the rest of the film pacing back and forth across the back of the theater. (Made sure I didn't bother them/was out of sight. They thought I had left the show to wait in the lobby). I wasn't pacing because I wanted to pace, I was pacing because I was almost making it to the lobby, then deciding no, I had to finish this film because it was SO GOOD it had written absolute terror into the bottom of my soul. I couldn't leave, and I couldn't stop watching. Thus, I kept pacing back and forth.
I don't know to this day how the entire audience understood what was in the box. But we did. And it was terrifying. And the show was SO EFFIN GOOD.
To this day, Se7en remains one of the best movies that I have EVER seen... which I watched once and only once, and have never, ever watched again. I didn't even watch your reaction, just clicked in to leave a comment. Sorry man. I meant what I said - I got through it once and I will NEVER watch this film again. And yet, I have nothing but praise for it.
Hope you enjoyed it. Hope you never have to watch it ever again.

Oh man, Detective Mills got so mind-fucked in this movie.
One of the last things John Doe says to Mills in the car is to remember him and how he allowed him to live rather than just kill him, and you can see this got to Mills. So you know he'll remember it.
I mean, god damn. You see how the whole ordeal just broke him, mentally. And that on top, he likely really *will* remember that every time he looks in a mirror.
But this movie is great. Not just for the crazy story and plot, but because the actors fucking killed it. Amazing movie.

4:26- very famous actor(for the life of me,i dont know his name) but he plays the devil off the movie "Ghost Rider Spirit of Revengance" hes very stoic in all his movies and he looks like someone not to mess with ..
And the Big fellow who got . Messed up all dismembered(word to wise and cautious) if you ever see a 6'foot -8' foot person dead, and held up somewhere you should be afriad of what attack them 😮,do not go looking what hit them up. You call the police asap 😅

This movie Kickstarted one of the best Directors career filmography. David Fincher is arguably one of the top 3 all time directors and he has no bad movies. Alien 3 doesn't count because it was his first movie and a sequel to an existing franchise lol. And I kinda like it but most dont

Really creepy movie. One of my favorites but I can't watch it too much because its so disturbing,, like Silence of the Lambs. Gluttony is basically one that doesn't appreciate the value of food and overhears. Sloth basically means you only care about yourself and no one else. You need something feel good after this. Try the OG Karate Kid trilogy from the 80's. Great movies. Got some cheese but just hits you in the feels.

Mills would probably not see a day in jail due to temporary insanity. He would most likely never be a detective or in law enforcement ever again. But, in present time, who the hell knows since very few people in power are held accountable for their actions nowadays.

I'd like to suggest a 1993 horror/thriller/mystery movie called 'The Vanishing. Jeff Bridges and Kiefer Sutherland are in this and Bridges plays one of the most bazar characters I've seen on screen and it works too. There was an original movie from 1988 that was a French/Dutch film of the same name as well but I prefer this remake over that one.
