I was once a Member of a Rescue Organisation and on one occasion we did a simulated Rescue for the Media. As I approached the Rescue Zone in the Heavy Rescue Truck I played this Tune over My Public Address System. It was awe inspiring.
My brother used to have this Thunderbird-island, with a moving swimmingpool that hid the TB1, and the palmtrees actually bended away to make room for TB2!!! Good times ;P
It often does, when the band is waiting for the changing of the guard to commence, they often play things like this to keep the crowd entertained. Another favorite they do is the Austin Powers theme.
@GamePadVader The Royal Guards are formed by many different regiments in the British army. For example this year at the trooping of the colour a Scottish Regiment wore the Guard uniform.
Heros, brings a tear to my eye, so well played. these guys and their fellow regiments have seen it all, the bombing in hyde park of the blues and royals and of late- lee rigby, but still they soldier on. god bless em, one and all!
I always considered Thunderbirds to be boring and cheesy (though i never really sat through an episode), but after hearing the Royal Marines recording of this song...wow, such an awesome piece
@mikester1290 Scott & Thunderbird 1 would be doing the Searching from the Air Virgill, Brains, Allan & Gordon would be in Thunderbird 2 with somesort of heavy rescue equipment. Jeff would be keeping an eye on things fromTracy Island, whilst John could keep an eye on Weather Forecasts & seismic activity from space. And Lady Penelope would enjoy her English Cup of Tea made by Parker
The Royal Guards is made up of 5 foot regiments Grenadier ,Coldstream , Scottish ,Welsh , Irish Guards also there is the household cavalry made up of 2 distinct regiments the Blues and Royals and The Life Guards and i think there is also a detachment of Royal Artillery but im not quite sure
Oh you learn something new everyday. But Thunderbird 2 was the biggest and most versitile one out of the 5 I mean nobody knew what it was carrying so it was a fantastic guessing game. Althought everybody knew when Thunderbird 4/5 was picked up (The sub).by TB2
@berlinmitte10117 It really helps that we don't take ourselves too seriously. I mean, you have the biggest empire in human history and somehow balls it up completely... all you can do then is laugh at yourself :-D
Hard work for the the clarinets in the wind band arrangement - they have to play the fast violin figures in the top register at the beginning. Shame this version faded out before the great sax solo. Such cool music.
@goldanima I already know where England is, I live there, but I thought you were referring just to the Royal Guards in your first comment instead of everyone. Just thought you were doing the thing that Americans do where they think that everyone in Britain is English. No offence to any Americans reading this btw!

I am surprised it hasn't been made standard procedure. Surely it is a moral boost?
if I was prime minister, I would make this the English national antheme
My brother used to have this Thunderbird-island, with a moving swimmingpool that hid the TB1, and the palmtrees actually bended away to make room for TB2!!! Good times ;P
That great theme by the great composer Barry Gray lives on!

Not pictured, the rocketship, launching from the middle of the palace

Andi090386
No, Thunderbird one came out of the swimming pool. Thunderbird 3 came out of the house
Wrong again, Thunderbird 3 came out of the library.

@GamePadVader The Royal Guards are formed by many different regiments in the British army. For example this year at the trooping of the colour a Scottish Regiment wore the Guard uniform.
All we need is for Thunderbird 1 to take off from behind the Palace.

Late baby boomer and early Gen-Xer grew up during the space program and Mr. Anderson kept our dreams on "positive track" if you like.

I think the Royal Marines did it better. >.>
+Ian Turner FAB
One person just doesn't get it. Pity.
@GamePadVader No - the British

I do wish people would stop refering to them as "The Royal Guards".
They are "The Brigade of Guards".
no, they're not. This is the band of the Regiment of Irish Guards, part of the Household Division.
Robert Holloway 1st or 2nd Coy?
Burn?
