Good morning Katie. Grouse heading in the canner this morning! You look great! Healing broth sounds fantastic! -Mom, I love mushrooms! Too cute! Total freeze-dryer envy!
Katie you would love the Moosewood collection of cookbooks. They are very plant focused. There is a soup and salad recipe collection from Moosewood. Yum!
Hi Katie, this is a very timely recipe for me. I’m working on healing my gut, have been for about 2-3 years. I worked with an amazing FMP for a couple years and made great progress. But, that diet was so restrictive I loosened up some and all the problems came back😢 But super restricted diets aren’t good either if it’s not giving all the nutrients I needed🥴😵💫 So much goes into planning food for people like us with GI issues and the like😩
It is ever so frustrating! Especially when you are a foodie!😫 I’m such a foodie and it’s just sad. I went out with a bunch of moms recently. I couldn’t eat or drink anything offered there so I sat and sipped water while they had pizzas, burgers, and brews. Thankfully I had eaten prior, but it’s such a tease! I’m sorry you are going through similar. We just want to live normal but this GI stuff is wrecking all the fun!
@stevatiner2788 I haven’t done deer- I guess it depends if the deer is rutted up or not when harvested😅 I tried elk cause the game flavor is slightly different and I used elk marrow and joint bones. It turned out great!
Doesn't the gaps diet start off with soups, then slowly start adding to it? I have been doing some investigating on the gaps diet and it seems to be really helping gut health, autoimmune and a lot of other health issues. I try to make my own broth as much as possible. I have 1.5 gallons of chicken broth in the fridge that i NEED to can this weekend. Hunting season is taking a lot of my time. Love alone time in the woods though. ❤
I have done some form of gaps a few times over the last 4 years. I’m trying no meat/fat for a few weeks and that includes no meat broths. Nothing has helped my pancreas that I was blindly trying to heal for the past 5 years until this year when I finally got diagnosed. I wish there was something that helped me but I’m at a loss. Just trying to get rid of my daily pain at the very least have some sort of normal diet so I can gain some weight.
@RowesRising getting back to clean whole foods, eating the way God intended for us to eat. Hard now because they have destroyed our soil and food in stores aren't trustworthy. I'm right there with ya on the pain. Maybe some day we will be fixed. Hahahaha I think the gaps diet is meant to restart our system. Kinda like being a baby again. 🤗 We are seeing first hand the destruction to our internal organs by abusing them. AND the peckerhead food industry by placing plastic and other harmful ingredients in our food.
Thanks for the suggestion!! I need to learn a few new recipes. I used to make a lot of Indian dishes… butter chicken yum!! Right now I’m on a very limited diet trying to reset my gut so there is a small list of foods and seasonings I can eat and I’m being really careful with food combinations as some things together can be tough to digest.

Thank you Kitty🌻🌻🌻 He is a sweetie.
That soup looked delicious! We've finally gotten some colder weather and a little rain in SoCal, and the soup looked so warming and cozy!
The cooler weather is a nice change🌻🌻🌻

@firstlast-js5yw thank you🌻🌻🌻
I ordered Nourishing Broths book from Azure this month. I can bone broth but I'm thinking I might want to can some other types of broth.
I canned some Pho broth I made from elk bones. Sooo good!!
@@RowesRising I have wondered how deer bone broth would be. Have you ever tried it?

You can also add curry powder and any bean or meat in the leftover soup to make curry for the next day
I love adding curry powder to my leftovers- yum!!
Why don't you try making Indian dishes as there are a lot of vegetarians in India you can find a lot of healthy and vegetarian recipes
