Nice one Andy, glad you indicated to folks you were a qualified Solo Diver and outlined a couple of the aspects of the dive prep required before venturing into any solo dive, hopefully the divers watching will appreciate that its not just a case of being an irresponsible diver. A great and informative video. PS your lucky to have Ali as your back up.
Nice one Andy, good to watch how the early transition from sidemount is coming on and be interesting to here your thoughts as you progress, oh and well done to the wife a true trooper the best buddy you can get.
Looking forward to seeing your CCR progression over the coming months. 👍 I went from newly qualified OW back in Jan 2020 to getting my MSD in Dec 2020 so 2021 will see the start of my journey down the Tech Route. 🤙
Hats off to you. I have a sook if the water drops below 16 degrees Celsius where I live (Australia) Your off and running with snow in the background. Good for you sir. Well done 👍🏼
Stopping by to say - well done! What a brilliant, and useful video. I'm rebreather-curious, and I really found watching along with your experiences useful..
Great video!! Well done to you both for venturing out I am for sure spending my Xmas pennies on the heated vest.... Just installed dry gloves so no excuse now on temperature!! Loved the narration and certainly one style for the future!! Loved the quick tips on navigation in Capernwray...I hope no one moves the plank!! Well done and keep the CCR self development videos coming 👏
Hi Andy, thought this was a great vid! Loved the style and there is something in there for everyone. Thought the landmarks and route finding tips were really good and would help anyone who hasn’t dived here before. Also the explanation around the pock marks made by the sturgeon. The story was great, not only regarding this particular trip but this now sets the scene for your journey with mastering the JJ. Really interesting vid, nice work!!👍🏻
I’ve not dived it in a while mate due to other training I’m doing. Hopefully that will be done in the spring so I can look back at it come this summer.
Great upload, looking to do my MOD1 this year on Inspo, moving from twinset OC... excited and apprehensive, any pointers you can recommend ahead of my course ?
Genuinely it is a great addition to my kit. I tested it here in January for them, made a few recomendations which they took on board and even without it turned on makes me feel warmer. A front access suit is certainly better with this internally controlled power unit, but only to adjust it when out of the water. For £80 on sale it is the best addition to my warm kit I've made.
@@AndytheNorthernDiver that’s cool. I hadn’t checked the rules there but I think stoney is a flat no even if qualified. If you’re caught they even tell you to leave
@@AndytheNorthernDiver I’m the same. Don’t mind diving with a buddy but I’m more than happy to dive alone. As you said one less thing to stress about when underwater.
@@justdiveitne4115 Nice one, I've tried to stretch this a little over the top of a 10ltr cylingder or my fins but found that just diving it regularly over the last two weeks it has become slightly looser and more comfortable.
you think it's too dangerous I would only want to do it in a pool anyway, just to feel the feeling. wish you good luck for 2021 and good air for all your dives

Absolutely mate she is a legend for driving up here with them for me. Thanks for watching

Hahahah thanks mate
Great to see a nice approach to having fun while being safe. We have cold water in Canada too. You are not alone. Stay safe, Cheers Harry.
Cheers buddy stay safe
Since you are pretty handy you may one day fix up a DVP. We use them a lot here. Cheers, [DivingDutch] Instagram (:+ 🤿= :)

Awesome mate thanks - good luck with it. What unit you looking at?
@@AndytheNorthernDiver Our club (on the Isle of Man) has both divers using AP and JJ. Our local dive shop can fully service the JJ, so probably that!
Nice - it looks a much tidier unit I think, keep it simple works for me
Love this narrated style of video! Glad I drove up as this is an ace video 😘

Thank you mate I really appreciate the feedback. I can 💯 % recommend the NORTHERNDIVER ELECTRACORE vest that is still on sale for a couple more days

Thanks mate 👍, it wasn't my origninal plan but definately better than I thought. Rough and ready but with a purpose
Enjoyed this Andy! Just catching up on some of your videos. Never done a lake dive...maybe will this year.
Hi, mate not seen you around in a while! You've not missed out on much TBH, mostly crap viz, good for training though. 29 more sleeps .....
Loved this style of video mate. Can’t wait for the next 👍🏼
Thanks pal more to come when we’re out of tier 4
Really interesting good one 👍
Cheers mate
Great video Andy, nice one 👍

This video is great.
Glad it’s been so popular I’ll be making more like it for sure
Nice dive sorry I missed the location .
It’s in both the title and description mate 🤪
That was really good how are you getting with the jjccr now? Thanks

Only make sure your b&t are on point to make your transition easier mate
👍
How do you even get a proper seal with that mustache.
Mine always leaks when i havent shaved.
Mask is hollis mk4 right?
I find the longer the trash the less it leaks mate!
What did you think of the ND heated vest ?

Were capers ok with you solo diving?
I’m a qualified solo diver with SDI, so yeah. They treat you like an adult and assume you understand the risks.

Question, what is the thickness of your KO1? 5 or 8mm?
Hi Bill, I went with the 5mm, be advises that these are a tight fit so I'd suggest you look at their sizing chart before you buy.
@@AndytheNorthernDiver that's why I ask. I got the 8mm in LG . It's a little tight in the jaw. Might go with the 5mm XL. Thanks.

my Dream one Dive with a REbreather.
Be careful what you wish for
you mean it can become reality
But my english is not good
@@andreasneumann9046 yeah but in reality it’s very expensive and a lot different to open circuit, not fun or easy to begin with

Be careful solo diving.. i like buddy diving.. first safety!!
I’m a qualified solo diver, which in many ways I’d suggest is better and safer than diving with a poor buddy. Thanks for watching
