Had one for a few weeks. It had so many driver issues. Crashed non stop on BG3, Aliens: Dark Decent and a few PS3 games. Disappointed for sure ended up returning it
Same problems here. Seems like all the review units are solid, but lots of people have issues with the ser7 and beelink in general. I’m sending mine back
I had many issues and crashes. I had to do lots of updates and still didn't fix it. I assigned 8gb vram to gpu through bios, and still didn't fix it (but it became better). Lastly, the fix was that the issue was the user account didn't have access to the temp folder. The solution was to create a different temp folder and give it full control. Now no more crashes and runs sweet
I'm about to return mine. Same issues. It killed the graphics drivers on linux when playing games on steam or when trying to play around with stable diffusion. I thought it was a linux issue, so I booted into Windows to test a few games out. Froze windows. Seems to be some sort of hardware problem, so I'm returning it. It's not a beelink only issue though. Some of the first batches of these 7840hs machines are affected. I bought the machine for my dad and he doesn't do anything intensive with it so I didn't catch it right away. Can't return it to Amazon, have to deal Beelink now. Pray for me.
I always enjoy your in depth work in your videos. The stock SSD is actually a crucial part p3 I think. I've been using mine for almost a month now and it's great. I have been using an egpu enclosure with a 2080 ti without issues.
That plug is the one thing that puts me off about this particular machine. The rest is top notch. Still looking to get a Win Max 2 (2023) edition though.
That plug failed on the SER7 unit I purchased a few weeks ago. Even Beelink has ditched that connector on the new SER8 and went back to a barrel connector.
to complete what you say : "If you want to use USB4 port (PD3.0 100W) for power supply, please set TDP to 54W in BIOS, which supports 20V/5A max." "Please be sure to connect 120W power adapter to DC port for power supply if you set the TDP to 65W."
My plug was defective and super annoying. Customer support was decent though, and they sent me out a new one that works great. Plus now I have a backup that works, but not great. Proprietary power supply cables should be illegal. What a dumb idea.
can you try oculink egpu? i got the same mini pc ser7 and tried oculink on the 2nd m.2 slot the result is i only got pcie 4x 3.0, cudaz around 3100MB/S which supposedly a 4.0 slot
GTR7 wouldn't be any different than this either. 7840HS is a powerhouse but what about Alan Wake 2 6GB VRAM is going to just not be possible? I knew Alan Wake was benchmark worthy franchise it was my go to game to test new hardware.
Hi ! That was a Gr8 Review....🎯 So, I have just purchased the Beelink SER7 and am getting no headphones audio from either of the two 3.5mm headset ports.....and was hoping to get some advice from you on this... :)
No one is really doing oculink outside of gpd and there arent any actual enclosures that exist yet. Just the gpd g1 (not an enclosure) and the one dock (cant actually buy, only a waiting list) which isnt ideal.
@@creaturecore13 Yeah I now, I'm trying to build my own sff gaming rig with amd 7800x3d and with oculink x4 to a 4090 but I'm having a hard time justifying the price for what may be an experiment.
I did not understand the logic behind leaving resizable BAR disabled. AMD GPU's almost universally benefit from having this enabled and there's not really a downside to enabling.
Great video explaining the different components and running the benches to clue in your viewers. How much of those 32gb of ram can be used as vram? Is this different across vendors? Say I buy a 64gb ram beeline or minisforum PC, will I be able to use 32gb vram?
So what's the difference between this and the GTR 7 (pro) from the same manufacturer? Why have this and GTR7 and GTR7 Pro? Hmm, ok I think the GTR7 Pro can sustain the 65W so I guess that's the difference.
It certainly has flexibility of use. But those 2 USB 2.0 ports should be on the front as they are likely going to be used to connect controllers/keyboards etc and if using a wireless solution that uses a dongle. line of sight can be important in order to maintain smooth operation. For the price it ought to be good.

thx for sharing
I beat BG3 on my SER7. 100+ hours - The game only crashed once.

The ssd is a Crucial P3 Plus.
How’s your experience been? I’ve been considering getting a mini-pc to use the 3060 and enclosure I’ve got already.
@@piercewiederecht5135 it's been great actually. Been running Hogwarts legacy at 1440p maxed without issue.

The ssd is not generic, CT1000P3PSSD8 is a OEM Crucial P3 Plus. It is a cacheless drive so write speeds will suffer under heavy writes.
Great detailed review. Thanks for taking the time to produce and share your knowledge
Beelink said you can use on of the USB-C ports for power alternatively to the "puck" port on the bottom.

At 600 $ Minisforum mini PC with arc 730M gpu IS way BETTER THAN THIS it has a rtx 3050 laptop level GPU
Is the WiFi card user upgradeable ? For example with the AX210 ?
How low can you turn down the TDP settings and have the PC functioning properly?
can you try oculink egpu?

Does this beelink model have any issues receiving amd driver updates etc......?
This is an absolutely amazing retro emulation PC. Is currently powering my arcade cabinet.
that power plug is not the only way to power this, it will power with usbc per beelink.

can assign more than 4GB vram in bios in you have 32GB
alan wake is tech demo not a gamr

What is the ser 7 's 780m igpu maximum TGP??
Sony and MS should start making consoles this size.
they won't cuz that'll create competition within their own products (PS & Xbox)
Is it possible to limit the tdp to 15w ? I want to use it with an external battery and the xreal air as a display + Xbox controller
You can probably do it with throttlestop?
This is not for children who play games on it. Buy ps or xbox
is if you boot it in batocera ,
Do you happen to know if the dual nvme slot support RAID on the BIOS? Thanks
Why no Oculink? Please ask them for Oculink!

Are you aware of replacement fan for better thermal performance on the SE7?

Overhead for the apu
Say I need it to consume as low wattage as possible. Whats the lowest TDP I can set it to ?
Half way in and I'm thinking I'll have to try one of those at some point.
can this run starfield and bg3 at med / high 1080

6gb max in minisforum
ชชช😊😊
Can the USB4 port be used for an external GPU?
yes, you can also power the pc with this port
Looks like it can
SIXTH!!!!!
Pretty good 👍
Next gen will get there, holding off for now.

The price, though
ANYTHING with a proprietary connection is an immediate red flag.
