- This was a fun and very chill day of fishing w/ my buddy @dillonfishing we set out with the goal for permit but unfortunately we could not catch any. But we caught a lot of other fish species so it was an interesting outing!!

Ribbon fish are good eating. Ate them before fried up.
Rich, here in Jax Ribbonfish are trolled for kings ans Wahoo and are about 50$ a piece. They are rigged with wire and like four stringer treble hooks.

Sorry for the delay. I bought the smallest size which is I believe the 3” size. Brown speckle and Ayu speckle was my favorite color.
Crazy seeing people use live blue crabs as bait. They’d kill you for that in MD 😂 not to mention you’d get fined

@FishAholicTV they have to be keeper size. Unfortunately, most fish where I am prefer the smaller size crab alive like the ones in your video.
@@FishAholicTV they’d have to be a keeper size. However, with the fishery and md culture of eating blue crabs not many are used as bait. So many people eat them here. We do big crab feasts as work functions lol like a cookout

When I was fishing in Florida late last year a friend I was fishing with caught a huge bonet-head shark and it ate a huge chunk of mullet, his last one 😂.

Rich do you ever keep any of the sharks you catch? I follow anther Florida RUclipsr and he says that you guys are allowed at certain times keep and eat sharks… asking for the northern fans🤔🤔

I enjoy your videos immensely. That said I want you to know that bluefish are a restricted species in Florida and must remain in whole condition while on the water.
Tampa bay fishing channel sells those jigs. They call them the “Stewie” jig. Come in different sizes & colors. Work great.

Wouldn't the fish feel or see that big old lead weight right next to the hook? Why wouldn't you put it up about a foot or two?
I think they do see it but aren’t against eating it with the lead. I’ve also used just straight jig heads. Like bottom sweeper jig heads for permit. They eat the whole thing crab and jig head. Just caught two like that recently

I don’t know why you’ve given up using a head cam. The chest cam you’re using is blocked by hands when you strike and reel in. This must be obvious to you in the edit.
My head can get burned or very hot when I use the head camera. From all that constant sun. Im generally outside for 8, 10, and 12hrs sometimes even longer when I’m fishing and filming. Have you tried doing that without a hat on day after day? It’s not good for you. I need to buy maybe a hat with a mount on it. I do prefer the angle of the head mount yes. So don’t worry I will go back to a head mounted camera at some point. Also this isn’t a chesty it’s the neck mount. The burning on my head is more obvious than anything and I’m trying to avoid something bad like skin cancer.
The small barracuda species is called a sennet, their are multiple species, that one is a southern sennet.
What kind of boat are you on?
Fishmaster boat. I think they are discontinued. I wouldn’t highly recommend but you can probably find one cheap on Facebook marketplace

@FishAholicTV yes sir set them up with stinger rig and u might want to have a hook through the nose and two tremble hook as your stinger

24 Fishmaster center console. It’s discontinued and I wouldn’t highly recommend. But you can I’m sure find a used one on Facebook Marketplace. You may have to put some money into it.

it’s the Daiwa BG MQ. Btw, I would recommend it way over the Saltist MQ. In the same day in and day out grind fishing in the salt from primarily the kayak and boat. The Saltist seized up after 4 months and the BGMQ I’ve owned for well over a year now and it performs flawlessly. I’ve pulled up a lot of fish with it
