- Gigantic Train Comes Down The Hill Into The Ohio River Valley! My Longest Single Uncut Clip! Norfolk Southern Railroad Trains Passing On The Big Hill In Ludlow, Kentucky. Right After The Monster Train Passed A 2nd Train Came In The Opposite Direction. Jason Asselin came from Michigan to film with me in Ohio and Kentucky. Greg from Meigs County Railroad also came to film with us in Kentucky. We were able to film both trains in their entirety since they had perfect timing. I had a setting wrong somewhere on my camera and didn't plan on using this video. I forgot which camera I used and how I got the picture to be so bright. Since I have been sick I decided to post this video because I haven't filmed anything in a week not counting the CCET train I filmed in Williamsburg, Ohio.
This video was filmed at the Ludlow Viewing Platform in Ludlow, Kentucky. This is the Norfolk Southern Rat Hole Line. The first train is just about to cross the Ohio River and enter the Norfolk Southern Gest Street Yard in Cincinnati. I can't believe how long I kept my camera going without shutting it off. This is a record. You can speed this video up but clicking on the settings gear below the video and make the train go as fast as you want. Some ppl don't like the speed changed so I kept it real.
Listen to the locomotives on the second train that are just starting to go up the hill towards Erlanger, Kentucky. They are working hard and sound awesome! Thats why I like this hill so much. Usually I film near the top because they go faster near the top. Best frequency for this area is 160.950 for the Norfolk Southern road channel.
Filmed Sunday, June 20, 2021 in 4K. Thanks for watching!

That's my neck of the woods. I love living alongside the mighty Ohio River! Thanks for the vid. Good day everyone.
Thanks for watching!
I would have loved to have filmed that train going up the hill instead, especially if I was in Crescent Springs@@FabianDiazTrainsTrucksNCars
Hope the nasty cold you have is better Mr JT. Summer colds are the worst. Rest and take care of yourself for all your fans and for you and your family. Trains will be there when you’re better. Take care my friend.
Thanks for watching 😊
I really like seeing the long trains just to be amazed
at how many cars an engine can pull across the country
this is really amazing and awesome, with a brief appearance
from the cute adorable cat and dogs in the house.🤠🐶🐱

Ludlow must be a cool place for rail fans the tower is cool great video thanks Brian and Jason and Greg
You bet
Thank you for bringing this video out of the vault, Jaw Tooth! The train heading to Gest Street Yard took its time passing the Ludlow, Kentucky railfanning location. I liked watching this video!
Thanks Thomas! I have another one for tomorrow from the vault but its only a few months old
Well I've never seen such a long train! I thought the ones that I saw on the La Plata railcam were long but this!!... Seeing the dog and the cat at the end was a nice touch; cats and dogs CAN be friends!!! Thanks for this a Like!
Get well, soon,Jawtooth, and nice viewing platform as well for all railfans,BTW.😊😊😊.
Thanks for watching!
Awesome location to watch trains.
It sure is!
That is one ultra mega long train🚂🚂🚂
I like that there were a fair number of cars on this train that were not graffitied!
This is actually quite normal. Box cars get graffitied within seventeen seconds of leaving the factory, but that's because they spend days at a time in urban locations with minimal security. Tank cars, on the other hand, spend a lot more time in facilities with perimeter fences and security patrols, so they pick up a lot less graffiti. Grain hoppers spend a lot of time in rural locations and, when they do come to big-city elevators, they usually only stick around for long enough to get loaded or unloaded and then head back out into the sticks. Flat cars and centrebeams don't have a lot of space for graffiti.
@@beeble2003 Most intermodal cars are also graffitied. This doesn’t give a good impression of the security in intermodal facilities if the taggers can tag with impunity. Isn’t intermodal the growth cargo? Same with auto racks. The intermodal trains are the flagships in the railroad world, the security in the facilities has to be better. Image is everything. I get that open hoppers, gondolas, and box cars will be heavily tagged because they haul less valuable cargo and can spend a long time in a sparsely guarded location and thus they will be tagged. It doesn’t have to be like this for intermodal and double stack cars!
Beautiful railfanning scenery, love the viewing platform. I’m use to you having to say; “What’s their hurry!” With these two trains set in “Notch Snail”, you’re going to need a new saying. Thanks you.
Thanks for watching 😊
Excellent catch, thank you.
Thank you too!
I hope you get to feeling better soon, Señor Jaws. And, thanks for this 'hand-me-down' video. I always say, which I say in English. The people here already think I'm a weirdo gringo, so it really doesn't make too much difference that I always say I should probably say... or o , but i don't. Gracias por tu video. RT sends. Puebla, México...
Glad you enjoyed it! I'm starting to feel better but I'm still worn out feeling. I was going to film today but I dont have the energy. I have some more old videos until I get out
Awesome video with 3 locomotive pulling hard but wait there’s more 👍😎🇺🇸🚂👍
Thanks 👍
My favorite place, thank you for the video

Thanks for visiting😊
Great trains. Feel better. Thanks, Jaw Tooth.
Thanks for watching!
3 engines, 182 cars, and no DPUs! And that first engine was a bit worn out, smoking as much as it was. Hope you're feeling better.
Merci beaucoup pour cette très belle vidéo ! ✨👍🙏
Thanks for watching my video!
@@JawTooth 🖐🖐🙏🙏🙏🙏
I just reopened my full screen and saw a slow train passing by. And the soft rumble of steel on wheels and some wind. Nice video. Again! Hope you feel better.
Cool, thanks!
Good morning Brian and all the railfans. Have a great day!
Morning!
@@JawTooth Hope ya get feeling better soon..
Good place to view trains! Live action! Had to watch your hornet video again! 😂😂😂😂😂😂

Hey jaw tooth that's got to be a record . 1st train took 25 minutes to pass !!!!!!. Cool location for train watching. Have a great railroad day
Thanks! You too! I think that is my record. I have one from Hamilton where two trains were passing that was pretty close to this one in length
Great catches and awesome video jaw tooth
Thank you very much!
That sure looked like a mega train to me. Sure is a nice setup there in ludlow, very cool. Hope you feel better soon JT. Thanks.

Hi JT, fab video what a lovely viewing platform to watch the trains going by slowly, nice to see Jason as well! Hope you feeling better. ❤😊
Many thanks!
Dang, they emptied the yard somewhere. That was a long train!
Great video Brian!
5:15 You often see double-stacks in manifests, these days, but I don't remember ever seeing one all on its own!
I hope you are feeling better. Cool catch on those manifest trains.
Thanks for watching!
morning hope you are feeling better GOD BLESS!
Morning!
Anyone sitting at one of those crossings would have gotten a little agitated when that 2nd train showed up. 😂
Thanks for watching 😊
The end of the train. Just before the other one shows up. That was something
Good morning I enjoyed the video👍👍
Love your vids man
Thanks!
Oh yes...my fav NS train. Cool.❤😊 Wow was that a long train or what. It was traveling slow then stopped. Goodness. Love it.😊Another cool one..a NS yes!❤❤Your pets make me smile. Thanks much.❤😊
Thanks for watching
23:48 It's always fun to here some of Hollywood Undead's music in the wild.
Great video jawtooth🤟
Appreciate it!
That looks like a nice observation tower. Plenty of room...
Very!
Great video I'm out railfanning today after not railfanning much. I managed to catch 11N that had a new cpkc autorack on it.
Oh nice!
2:31 I’ve never agreed with a coil car so much
If you say a train is bookin, this one is cuneiformin!
Nice shots.
Thanks!
I have noticed that the trains have been longer in size lately and awesome video also
Yes, you are right. They are saving money by having less trains and less ppl on them.
@@JawTooth yesterday i saw a long train that had two dpus on the end of it
I enjoy trains
great train video bro 💖💖💖💖💖💖
Thanks a lot 😊
JT were engine 2&3 even running? It sure looked like they weren’t ! Great video as usual!!
I believe so
Loved the video! Most of the trains that pass through my area are usually hoppers since we have a quarry
Oh cool!
That train ,think needs another engine -its struggling PERIOD, BRIAN FROM IRELAND ❤❤❤
We agree!
Nice Coverage
🚂🌷🇮🇳🌷🚂
Good video Jawtooth
Thanks!
Your 4k looks great.
Thanks 👍
Nice Video
Thanks!
Nice ❤️ 👌 👍
Thanks 🤗
@@JawTooth no problem 😊 👌
Good morning jaw tooth
❤
Every tape is new until you see it. That first train apparently was hosting a Conrail gondola reunion.
I have a lot of tape that I have never posted. I'm glad I filmed more than I needed so that when I can't get out I still have content. I haven't filmed in over a week
Is long train going southbound (left to right)? As always good video in beautiful country.
Wow! That has to be the longest train I have ever seen! Were they pulling into Queens Gate Yard there in Cincinati?
They were pulling into Gest Street Yard which adjoins Queens Gate Yard. Norfolk Southern has Gest Street Yard and CSX has Queensgate Yard
Good morning Jaw Tooth.
Good morning!
I don't see anything wrong with your 4K video.😊
Thanks! I guess its not as bad as I thought
Three engines up front... must be a heavy load.
That is the longest slowest train I ever saw!
Yeah, that's the truth
Great video. You ever play any train simulators? If so which ones?
None. I don't know anything about them
Surprised there wasn't a DPU in the middle or end of that massively long train.
That must be one heavy train he's pulling really hard now
Holy Roosters Jaw Tooth. But wait there’s more
There always is
Mornin'!
Morning!
Slow trains, at least you got your glasses back
JawTooth
Another great video
Appreciate the effort
Hope your feeling better
I appreciate it! I should have been better by now. I was too tired to get up today but tomorrow I am filming no matter what
😅coool 4K.📹
Thanks for watching!
@@JawTooth 😇so as yuseley it was super again, Brian, thanks. I watching now bourbon street New Orleans Louisiana live by EarthCam.
The NS 4302 was working really hard! I didn't even see any exhaust from the two helpers? Were they just along for the ride? Enjoying the scenery maybe? 😊
Not sure
Where do you get those cool tropical shirts
With all those cars I’d expect a couple of DPU’s.
JT you’re on a tough schedule; watch your health. I speak from experience.
How many cars or axles were on the first train? What are the limits on number of cars, what's the weight limit on any single car?
hello jaw it's is randy and i like yours video is cool thanks jaw friends randy
😊👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
This area looks like it may have been a holding or rail maintenance yard at one time.
Same train @ 45 MPH. well....But coool
That would be cool
Do you ever film in Silver Grove KY?
It has been years since I filmed there. I filmed a loaded rail train there a long time ago. I pass by on the interstate all the time. I remember when the engine house burned there with the steam engine in it. That was the Chessie Steam Special
That train is way too big, lol. Which scanner do you use and how much does it cost? I want to get one.
Baofeng UV6R costs about 30 bucks
Walmart? Amazon?
See you later in the next JT video with NS trains in the near future. Whats the location of that railfan platform
Thanks for watchibg! That is Ludlow, Kentucky
The track doesn’t look bad enough for the train to go that slow. The engineer must have been the slow poke guy I got stuck behind .. being a horse’s butt. Just kidding.
what was the car count on the first train
I would have expected there to have been at least one DPU at the end of the train or in the Middle of the train
Really two painfully slow trains
HOLA JAW QUE TREN LARGO Y CUANTO MIDE ???
THEIR USING A FEW KCS ENGINES IN CANADA NOW
Very interesting! I would like to go there someday but I have a long list of places for this fall
What would be the gradient, I feel like I could walk a lot faster, ❤❤❤😊😊
Such freight trains are far too long! What happens if ambulance, fire brigade or police have to wait so long at a level crossing?
