- Steel Coils Train With Locomotive Shoving Hard & Train Working Hard Up Steep Grade Passing Train At Railroad Crossing Waiting To Go Down Hill. Standing On Railroad Owned Bridge With Train Passing Under. These Norfolk Southern trains are in Elsmere, Kentucky and Erlanger, Kentucky on the NS Rathole Line. This is the first time that I have filmed a train at the railroad crossing next to the church.
First we see a train go under me while I was on a Norfolk Southern maintained bridge. We see the special method used to keep surface water from pooling on the bridge. Then I go to the next railroad crossing to the north to see a train with 2 mid train DPUs passing the Erlanger Yard. After that I go a short distance south to film at a railroad crossing with a church next to it that I have never filmed. An intermodal train pulls up and stops at the crossing while waiting for a huge train with 2 mid train DPUs to pass. Then a steel coils train with a DPU on the rear flies by at track speed. The intermodal train was getting ready to leave so I went back to the bridge to film it going under. I got there just as the locomotives passed but I filmed part of it. Shout out to a couple of my viewers and their dog who was on the bridge! Thanks for watching my videos! It must be nice to live close enough to the railroad that you can walk your dog there. Lol.
Then we see what is going on at my farm and of course the animals and slide show.
Filmed in 1080p with 60fps & 3.27GB on Sunday, October 2, 2022AD
Thanks for watching! If you have time, please watch another video of mine to help keep my channel going. Every view helps support my channel. Viewing time helps pay for gas, motels, rental cars etc. I have a list of places that I plan on filming so watch another video of mine if you have the time.

I don't think that is a drain hole. That looks like deterioration to me. Just saying.
Hi Poppy Clark. I second that.. That road over pass looks like deterioration to me as well. 🛣🛣
I agree. That could pose a big problem if that hole got bigger.
I agree 100%.
Think
Duh!
The way that bridge is being maintained reminds me of how Penn Central/Conrail maintained thier rails in my area 🤣. Seems minimal spending to barely make a profit, while over flowing the fat cat's saucer full of cream style of running a railroad/company will never fade away. ☹️
Nice boxcars on that second train :) It was long and moving fast - very cool! Those two tracks must merge at some point up the rails. That would explain the wait on the other track. Plenty of folks rent out their land to farmers. That's a good way to have some income without the worry about drought or deluge ruining the crops :)
Of course, the hole evacuates the water on the bridge. But through this hole, we can see the metal reinforcement of the structure, with the risk of corrosion. In the long term, this isn’t good for its solidity. I’m convinced that there are other ways to evacuate the water.
NS AND unión pacific in the third train,a fabulous combination...
🇺🇲🚂♥️♥️♥️😱😱😻😻🤩🤩🤩😍😍😍🤪🎃🎃😺😺
great video again! Its shame all the people who watch your videos do not press the like button !!!
Great video as always. I been catching up on your videos after camping for a few days.
Sure do appreciate your work.
Godspeed to you and your family.
I'd say that fire truck was pushing the weight limit, especially if it was carrying 12,000 lbs of water. That was a good first experience at the new crossing!
That bridge need some serious repairs, or a replacement. If it can't be fixed by the city, Norfolk Southern had better do it quick.
Good to see some NS action. I was born and raised close to the old NW yards at Portsmouth OH and always loved the NW/NS. Of course we also had slot of C&O action coming across the bridge at Sciotoville.
Also, hadn’t seen much UP since moving from Phoenix AZ, so it was nice yo see a little UP.
With integrated dpu!!! So good!!!!
🇺🇲🚂♥️♥️😱😱😱😱😻😻🤩🤩😍😍😍🤪🤪🎃🎃🎃
One of your best videos all trains have 2 dpu's. You are a genius morning JT I like your property a farmer and railfan.
Great videos as usual, watching from England, UK. Liked the fully loaded steel coil train, some weight in that one. Steel coil trains in the UK are a lot shorter.
Certainly wouldn't be allowed a train that long here in the UK.
That is a sweet homestead that you guys have right there, Brian. The recent place that my family and I moved out of was 7 acres give or take. Awesome train action as always and stay blessed, brother. -MG
Awesome and thank you!
Brian is a great servant of the braves love the way he manages
Great video keep up the good work God bless from GA stay safe
Great video JT!..and thanks for the land tour. Very nice!
Nice
Awesome video a lot of banging on those flat cars
Well, at least Norfie sleeps next to the mouse instead of catching one!
Thanks for this video and for showing us around your farm!
Good morning from Harrisburg, PA; Another great video.
Morning from New Orleans la
Hahaha someone saying don't do it driving by is something I would do 😂
Thanks for the overview of your land and a little background on your life.
Our pleasure!
Another great video love the dog live action. Also I like how you make it personal show us your property and you really engages us Definitely like the videos and we click the like button Tks
Awesome! Thank you!
Son ……..love your enthusiasm ! Makes my day . Will be at the beechwood crossing this afternoon , my granddaughter’s favorite spot . You got attention , now she films ❤ . Thanks !!!
Yea, the steel coil train was the coolest. Nice property to.
Short ones and long ones. You do have good ears JT, and a good mic. I heard that 2nd train coming at the crossing before the gates went up when the 1st one stopped too. You got a great catch there. So glad you are going to keep your land as farms and not sub-divisions. Our county used to be a nice farming community but now it's getting overrun with subdivisions of cheap, overpriced homes and traffic. I'm ready to move. Thanks for great video.
Hey JT, why did that train stop while the other one came thru at the crossing?
I'm guessing they either "dead headed" ( ran out of time. The feds limit amount of hours you can work in a row)
or a train in front of them was having problems/broke down. so they had to wait for these 2 to pass by so they could "cross over" around the broke down train.
Great video! It was cool to see your fields and property. You have a nice spread there. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching!
Thank you for capturing these trains in Elsmere and Erlanger, Kentucky on 2 October 2022, Jaw Tooth! I doubt that hole in the bridge deck over the Norfolk Southern tracks in Elsmere, Kentucky was put there on purpose to drain water off the bridge deck. I think that the hole in the bridge deck was caused by water eroding the asphalt on the deck. Once some of the asphalt was eroded, the water found its way into the concrete below the asphalt, through years of freeze/thaw cycles the concrete cracked and created the hole. If Norfolk Southern had put the hole in the bridge deck, I would think that there would be a grate over the drainage hole to prevent a tire from falling through the hole. It is great that you lease your farmland to someone who can cultivate it rather than leave the land fallow.
That's funny Jaw Tooth.. Idiots even sprayed expanding foam in that asphalt and underlayment gap. Enjoyed the video and thanks for showing us your land.
Nice point of view from the bridge. The train driver didn't even sound the horn btw. 😉
First an empty 'coil car' and then a loaded 'coil car' unit train. Are they on the same line? Is there a steel mill someplace along there?
Those are going to make great loads / unique cars for my layout. Lettered: 'JTX' and 'GAMX'. ☻
You are so blessed with your beautiful family, farm, and great videos. I live in PA but lived in Ohio for about two years in the 90s, and I loved it. Thanks for sharing your life with us. 😃 (I must admit I was also laughing so hard when you made the comment, “Hopefully I won’t hear anyone else say ‘Don’t do it!’”)
Thank you so much!
20:50 😍
Merci beaucoup pour cette très belle vidéo ! 👍👍Thank you very much! 🙏
A short train????? I wait a long trains in Time....it's stranger...
🚂♥️♥️♥️😱😱😱😱😱
Even for the deer the grass is always greener on the other side.
I counted 177 cars on the 3rd train.
Good morning Jawtooth! Have a blessed day!
The vehicle's bridge Is damaged,It has yo repair it...
Under the bridge runs the long trains,so good!!!!
🇺🇲🚂♥️♥️😻😻🤩🤩🤩😍😍🤪🎃🎃😺😺😺
Nice looking plot Brian. I looked it up on google maps..
I don't know the going rate for hardwood in your area but if you cleared trees and made the land tillable to the property line you could add close to another 20 ac.

Let me know. Isn't it a federal regulation to have crossings gates at RXRs?
I just saw a video of an old man driving a truck. He went over a railroad with no gates and a stop sign right after. Poor guy was struck by a train. I hope he is well.
Many rural crossings along with farm/private road and or driveways barely have a sign/cross bucks let alone gates/bells.. I believe the regulations have to do with amount of traffic on both the rails and road to determine if they are mandatory.
@@jollygreengiant7070 Thanx
@@jollygreengiant7070 Here in Michigan
Railroad crossings are regulated by State Law
If it’s federal regulations, then a whole lot of locations are in violation. Lagrange KY and Ashland VA themselves could use more
Major highways yes, rural areas no
GRReat video, nice shot of the train from the embankment( grassy knoll). ,Was the hill the train came up a steep grade? ..
Nice catches! Pretty cool bridge as well. - Jason
Great video, that new level crossing is a cool location. 👍
Really enjoyed looking down from the bridge to watch the first train. Almost as good as a drone! Thanks for giving us a tour of your property, that was a nice change of pace.
Yet another excellent video - well done!
Lots of action! A new crossing. What a beautiful day with the church in the background. Deer running. An intermodal train stopped on the tracks (intermodal is my favorite- not boring, lol), your amazing farm, all your fur kids, birds breaking bulbs, a tree row tour, and a slide show with great pics to top it off. What more can we ask for! ❤️
Haven’t seen any of your videos in a couple of months even though I am a subscriber . One popped up today.I don’t know what was wrong?
Great Video
🍂👍🇮🇳👍🍂
Thanks
Beautiful location your vlog my friend
For some reason all these tracks look like they are going up hill in both directions.
That looks like a tear hole in the pavement and not an intentionally made hole.
Good night... in Indonesia time 19 ,. 14 pm
Have a great evening
I thought you weren't going to stick around to film the intermodle. What happened?
If I had that much land with that many trees, I would build me a small scale Railroad all the way around it. Then I would teach Jr. how to safely operate it, so he could take mom and me for a nice ride around the yard.
That Steel Roll train is what I film locally in Australia! The rail that leads in and out of the factory is even made there! Pretty cool I made a vid about em. The steel rolls sit on rubberised matting here! Thanks Jawtooth! 👍👍
Thanks JT for showing your property. Norfie 💕
If you see one deer, always expect more. Great vid. JT.
Thanks 👍
You will have to return here since you got a double whammy!😊 the train working so hard sounded like it had a Nat k5h👍👍
You got that right!
Wondered why that one train did not have the lights in - the one that stopped just before the crossing (9:20).
They do that not to blind the opposing train especially since he was not moving.
6:55-that looks like a seriously old car driving behind you
Something for you to remember, as we age our abilities to climb up ladders dimminishes. Be very careful that you don't become a statistic.
Of course, I have you by a few years. I'm 77 now and on some occasions, I feel the age.
All of the trains are awesome and 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍😃😎 enjoying watching too and the bridge too AWESOME VIDEO Jaw Tooth ❤ and the side show too 👍 😀
WOW that's an old bridge I can see it being torn down to be rebuilt
Another great video JT! Thanks
Glad you enjoyed it
Nice big setup you have there with that farm JT pretty sweet, u and your family are truly blessed , really something to be proud of. Awesome NS action as well, some hard working DPUs on all those trains, love it. Thanks JT, your awesome.
Thanks 👍
@@JawTooth Your welcome JT
I counted 45 cars on the 1st train.
Get one of those led lights that have the 4 lights that you position. It screws right into a standard socket. I put one in my garage and it was a big change in the lighting.
I've been looking at them on Amazon... they have them with 3, 4 or 5 flat arms of LED's, some with multi-sectioned arms to aim/bend as needed. I want to replace the hideous thing I created long ago in my garage... uses 3 "wye" bulb sockets and 4 LED bulbs.
Great point of view JT thanks.!!
Glad you enjoyed it
I like your end with those closeup photographs of the locomotives and cars. However, I wish it would last at least three minutes, along with the credits that you present. Wow, wow!
Thank you very much!
@@JawTooth You are welcome. Thank you for tapping or typing to me.
Learned what a DPU is! Never knew. Why did the 1st Train stop at the crossing 9:00 mark? Double tracks and all. Plenty of room..Anybody?
Thanks for showing us your farmland. It looks great. Good flat sunny land for growing crops. You live in a nice part of the world. Great video! Cheers.
When you see holes like that in the road deck of a bridge it's a sign that the bridge is nearing the end of it's service life .
As for the old tunnels on the Rathole most of them were bypassed during the "1964 line relocation project" as far as I know only tunnels six and ten on the south side of Burnside KY and one tunnel in Tennessee were daylighted . Maybe you're thinking about tunnels three and four on the south side of Somerset KY that were bypassed in the early 1950's when the creation of Cumberland Lake forced them to relocate the town of Burnside KY and it's rail and road links to higher ground .😐
Awesome video with 2 dpu working hard but wait there’s more 👍😎🇺🇸🚂
JT, one filming comment, you missed a chance to film the meet btwn those two trains. I thought you would have kept panning when that one train came up the hill. Thank you however for your videos. I end my day every day watching your latest post.
Very wonderful video, have a nice day and greetings from Brazil 🇧🇷
Sorry to see tree row go. really gotta?
good morning haw greetings from Monterrey Nuevo Leon Mexico.
You can't have a tractor... you only can have a train. big property... great job JT. wow to say the least.
Another great video. Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching!
The best part about that water drain is heavy trucks will end up next to the train to load containers! You know.....I was watching a boat video and they had a 40 foot pole with a bulb changer rubber cup to replace bulbs.
Since you're a gentleman farmer how come you don't wear a cover halls and a ripped up straw hat
Amazing videos Jaw Tooth keep up the good work
Thanks a ton!
Amazing train video!!
Today I seen a NS train with a DPU in the middle and on the end of the same train and a conrail caboose on a freight train love the vids keep it up
I like train videos videos on RUclips jawtooth 👍
You should put a cage around that light bulb keeps from breaking it
Really enjoyed seeing your farm, Thanks! 👍
Great video Jawtooth! I love those old arched bridges over railroads! Love the farm and animals, I miss the farm life I had growing up! Great catches! Thanks for sharing!
That hole in the bridge doesn't look intentional. Cities and towns can have trouble getting railroads to repair bridges that belong to them. The first train may have had its air line blow out.
You’ve been at this bridge before with us. Wintertime I believe.
I think once you get accustomed to listening for certain sounds. you can just hear them a lot clearer than others. I have a crossing not too far from my house that I like to record from time to time but sometimes I can hear the trains coming three or four crossings away and leave the house in time to catch it at my crossing.
Ya that just a Mickey Mouse job of repairing a hole. That will become a nasty pothole if no one takes care of it. I yell at people all the time on bridges shouting "don't do it" lmao.
Hello there.. great video Jaw Tooth!
Thanks for the visit
Don't do it! What, film the train or jump down and ride it? The double DPU was awesome. I hear ya on how fast the year is going by, we're already at 80% color up here in northern Wisconsin with snow flurries forecast for this weekend. Quite the fortuitous meet! The best ones are the ones you don't expect. Another double DPU, you're on fire today man. Nice bookend power set with the EOT DPU. Liked it a lot, thamks!
Wow, What a day
All those trains
Thanks for the background information
Any time!
Great stuff great video thanks jaw tooth
Glad you enjoyed it
The old 3 Stooges punchline, "See the deer. Does the deer have a little doe? Yeah, two bucks, nyuk, nyuk, nyuk!" You do a lot of driving to give us the pleasure of daily videos, thanks. Before motion sensors at grade crossings there were control boxes. One got out and inserted a switch key to raise the gates and then lower them.
Good morning to all from SE Louisiana 4 Oct 22.
Morning bill from Metairie la
'' Don't do it !!! '' 🤣😅😂 Great catches Son ... Love your farm , even without a tractor ... Thx for the hard work you put into these vids ...
