  • In this video we will carry on with Fusion 360 form tools to finalize the hood crease detail and learn about ways to make smooth tight transitions in form bodies. If you had any trouble following the last video you can use this dataset as a starting point.

Really enjoying/learing-from the series. I've been using the form space for years, but in a far less organized fashion. The explanations are helping a lot!

Thanks Ron! This is an area I don't get to really cover much and it doesn't really get much love so I enjoy making the content. If there is anything you would like to see don't hesitate!

Good to see an explanation of some of the analysis tools, i've been looking at zebra analysis with no clue at all and then my wife wants a rug like that. The others i never used.
This is great stuff, but imagine making a portrait of a person this way - they'd have aged 5 years before i finished the model!

Trunker, it does take a long time to explain what is happening but with the foundation of how to do it, the "rough" shape of the entire car could be done in an hour or two. The detail work always takes a long time. A personal project of mine in Blender has been on my list for 6mo. The major shape has been done after just a few days :)
Is there a more basic example with these form tools that you would like to see?

So informative, love learning about the finer technical details like zebra view etc.

I've been using Fusion for some years, basically self taught. Expert? Not within a bulls roar. Hard surface modelling has always been a mystery to me and its a mystery I want cracked open! Looks like I've found the perfect place. I've dabbled, got frustrated, tried again and again but without a good resource to go too I've never been able to crack that shell.

Ian I will say that true surfacing in Fusion is frustrating compared to some other programs. I have started a new series surface modeling a car vs using forms. So this series was meant to really just do the hood and i ended up getting carried away. The Ferrari 308 was a forms all the way series. The Bronco is surface tools all the way to kind of show the pros/cons between the two. If there is something specific you want to see let me know.
