There won't be Opal gates between the metro and train platforms, since they're treated as the same system (like at Epping and Chatswood)
Generally TfNSW seems to classify the metro as being roughly part of the trains system. It refers to both systems as just heavy rail on most information they have, and they have identical fares.
I was also there for the open day on Sunday and was quite blown away at how impressive everything looked. Can't wait to see it enter service later in the year!
The lift is like a nod to 8 Chifley Square for me. It reminds me of that buiilding more so than Martin Pl station.
To be honest, I feel like one key difference with the northwest PSDs is that they have the coloured lights that flash when a train arrives, good for if you're on your phone.
I am really impressed with both the station and your presentation. I worked in 50 Martin Place and watched the original station being built, and I was amazed at the size of the station box, as seen from my position on the upper floors. I am now privileged to see the progress and hopefully the opening of Martin Place Mark 2. I am impressed by the sheer size of this station and how it's designed to reflect the buildings of the business district that surround it. I enjoyed your clever transition from Metro to Train station and your extremely good narration. I agree with your assessments, and I think your preferred colour for the M1 is spot on. Your explanation for the effects of the escalator advertising is absolutely correct as the design does indeed bring on Vertigo attacks to those who are susceptible. Excellent presentation. Well done 👏 👍
That’s me on the right in the grey jumper at 6:32 , as for what you say at 8:46 there won’t be as Trains and Metro already share and will continue to share an integrated ticketing as you can already change and Epping and Chatswood without going through any other opal gates
What I hate about the existing is that the escalators are REALLY trippy, the fixes that! Nice video Elliot!
Thanks for the detailed view of the station
Excellent video mate I was also there with Matthew and Owen and millennium transit on the opening day
I went in the 9:30 slot with a friend and we enjoyed it! very spacious. Although I'm not sure yet if I'm a fan of the round signage.
Mate, an excellent informative video!! Note: there is no need to have Opal card readers between the ESR and Metro entrance. Why? Doesn’t make any sense or benefit anyway! The system knows where you tap on and off and calculates your fare accordingly regardless transferring whichever mode of transport.
Wow, I love the blue lights in the walkway
Nice pfp man, looks oddly familiar, but I can't put my finger on it.
liked the video, towards the beginning of the video you showed a wall displaying the construction of the cavern for the station, not sure if you are aware behind that wall will be the entrance to the new hunter street metro station that has started construction
Great Video Elliot, The metro station looks great!
I am really unimpressed with the colourful wall mural tiles that you complimented - I thought they could have done better there
A Retro, Metro lift 9:20
10:08 was it because of filters? The colour of the backlit metro sign was looking like the blue for buses?
Is it bad I had no idea about this until Sunday afternoon after it closed?
When is the next open day and what station
When does it open?
Date not announced yet.
Still yet to be handed over to the operator and then it's 6-8wks of additional testing, so probably July or August.
@@mark123655pretty sure it’s been handled over to the operator, I’m pretty sure it happened this past Monday because they started timetable running from Chatswood to Sydenham
