I do think that we are very lucky in the UK, as in general faith does not creep into politics as it does in other countries. However we are getting very close to that especially around homophobia and transphobia.

I am a bi, but as a nobiney I consider any marry I do to be a gay marry. If I married a woman, that's gay. If I married a man, that's also pretty gay. If I happen to marry another nonbindy, that's some kinda gay I don't think the world is ready to categorize. Tl;dr: Gay.

This is so real because tbh I’d feel more comfortable around a bigot who is blatantly homophobic rather than someone who tries to hide it. I know exactly where I stand with them rather than someone who covertly hates me and my community.

Technically I'm queer ace (and enby), but yes I'm gay and would get (gay) married if only to be able to stay in the UK for longer, since my home country is miles behind. Like, Lightyear was banned, the gay dance cameo in the Beauty & the Beast remake was cut before it was released to theaters. Oh and Coldplay was prevented from performing just this year because they support gay rights.
In terms of actual politics, the "more progressive" party doesn't even want to talk about us and then on the other side, we have the much more religious party, which is openly homophobic. Except in my home country's case, the religion is Islam.
However, sadly my own mother is queerphobic so....... Boston marriage time for me
