I am astonished at how calm she is narrating such a horrific story. That calm can only be established once you find God, that calm is supernatural.
The Lord has given her strength to help others. We need to open our eyes to realise the red flag before we go into marriage or serious relationship. There is always that stage when you wll say, "I wish I ended the relationship at that level"

Through my work as a gender studies researcher, iv come to learn that it isn't always easy for victims of gender based violence to articulate their past experiences and present day traumas and aftermaths. I appreciate how Relebogile was able to guide Lucky into telling the story in such a fragile eye opening manner. I wish Lucky warmth and love.

I wish she was just a tiny bit more empathetic though. I find her a bit detached. Every time she mentioned that her mom was murdered, I expected her to say something to that. Otherwise she's a good interviewer.

All I can say Dating is deeper than what you feel for a person . Before you bring a person closer to you , try finding out about them from their Family, Friends,partners etc .. don't just make conclusions based of What you feel for someone or what they have to offer . It's not only bribes also incapable and incompetent a lot of times! I won't trash all but those who try to get richer whilst doing their jobs so they neglect real policework. Good police in South Africa isn't always the case they lured due to low income and inflation and post apartheid power! Cases are deliberately not solved! It's common behaviour but we also have corrupt police( called politie) in Europe. Did you know that? Remember the euros is more than rands so the price for corruption is higher here. if you listen to her properly she's actually fed up with the police, she seemed as if she was aggressor to them I think and she begged for help! Just wish police in RSA get their act together maybe they will earn best police force of the world 😂

I went through something similar last year I have not healed everything that happed feels like a horror I have always asked myself like how why did this happen to, the guy tried to kill my mother and sister the shame it's very traumatizing I pray that one day I heal and that this does not affect me anymore.

Psychopaths are real,and it's hard to even tell people how they are treating one. I went through hell for 2 years of dating and it took 7 years of healing but Only God can heal the trauma of such a relationship

I'm so glad i got out of a similar situation. He would abuse me so much, sometimes he'd lock me up in my own apartment and leave me all alone, leave me there the whole day and come back at night drunk banging my door demanding the door to be opened by ME just beacuse he had lost my keys.
This one time he came to my apartment late at night drunk with a girl and said that he thought that i had gone home, he beat me up infront of the girl saying that i didn't leave on purpose cause i was insecure, i mean really. That girl slept on my couch and he left her there in my apartment, i felt sorry for the girl cause she said that he had told her that he lived and alone and was single, that girl lived an hour from where i was. When i woke up in the morning, she was gone nothing stolen.
When id decide to leave him he would cry tears begging me and be the nicest person in the world, he would often give me his bank card after he got paid for me to just spend his money on whatever i wanted after he would abuse me.
Narsassists know how to make you feel really guilty for what they do to you and make sure that you apologise for it so that when they do it again you already know that they are "innocent" and that really fucks with your mental health, it took me forever to get over the traumatic events that i went through.
OMG now I know the guy she's talking about, I watched a video about that other girl that he murdered and she was a very young girl who worked with her mother in the business
