I grew up south of Raleigh and received both WECT and WPTF (later WRDC) as my NBC affiliates. However, WECT often was the NBC affiliate that my family and I had watched since WECT provided a much stronger signal than WPTF.
@@dereklangley8582 WITN has been a full-time NBC affiliate since 1963. I remember the reception of WPTF was so bad in the Raleigh area that Channel Master made a "Channel 7 antenna" that made it possible for people living in the Raleigh area to receive WITN for their NBC programming. WITN was on cable practically everywhere throughout Eastern NC (including Raleigh, Fayetteville, Lumberton, Whiteville, and Wilmington) at one time.
@@Cranberries87 WGHP (then ABC, now FOX) and WFMY (CBS then and today) were the two Triad stations that came in the strongest in Chapel Hill/Durham; TV guides back then also showed listings for both WFMY and WGHP in addition to all the Triangle stations
@@dianeadkins-diorio1783 But did WPTF-TV 📺 28 (NBC) in Raleigh, North Carolina, reach both Burlington and Mebane, North Carolina, on cable as well as Dunn?

It's funny how the A-1 and Capri Sun commercials sound so similar. They also run back to back in this video @12:27.
Do I see Cole from “Martin” in the Hershey’s commercial at 18:41? 👀

We didn’t pick up WECT or WITN when I was growing up in Durham, but we could get a couple of Triad stations, including WGHP (High Point).

This is so cool. I grew up in Raleigh-Durham area and remember well the weaker reception of UHF dial TV28
Even on cable?
@@jamesmcclelland1414 I am sure the reception was excellent with cable but my family did not have cable until 2003.
