The landing seems to have been the hardest part of the mission. The moral of the story? Never trust a rich patron who says they own an "airfield;" that wasn't even a good football pitch, lol!

This was beautiful!! I'm a sucker for Warbirds admittedly, but this was just purely an enjoyable mission to watch. Damn fine flying all around, but hats off to Signore for sticking the belly landing!! This campaign is going to be really interesting. I'm a huge history nerd, and I love to read historical fiction too, and this is literally historical fiction Grim Reapers style!! Greate flying as always Grim Reapers!! I look forward to seeing the next mission!!

This was some good viewing, and well done on the mission. I can't help but think for the most part the AI fighters were set on potato. Also, it makes for an interesting scenario just how the BoB would have gone had the P47D existed at that time and the US lend leased a couple hundred of them to the Brits. It would have made things even worse for the Germans methinks.
Thanks for the comment Pablo. There was a range of AI (and pilot!) skill levels. Things get harder for the boys from here on in. Regarding your BoB comment, I would argue that we did have that. It is called '1943'. The P47s arrived to supplement the Spitfires and Hurricanes, to gain parity with, and then dominance over, the Luftwaffe over the channel / northern france.
There was a "1 tap" from Signore, in his laundry list of kills, that was just ... *chef's kiss*. Top hole, old boy. Unlucky Cap, but hey, lets say you remembered your floaties (or David Walliams lol) so you could swim back to France with ease and redeploy, lmao.
This looked like a WHOLE lot of fun, thanks for sharing it with us, GR!

Pity there weren't any humes in the Spits/P47's but i guess it makes it fun getting so many kills. Also promotions & medals.......great idea for these multi-episode Campaigns. 👍🏻
Too bad they don't have F4F Wildcats (Marlets) in DCS. That would make a great analog for the F2B Buffalo. You could probably do a "Luft berry" over the bomber formation to keep up with them, Cap. One thing that would be cool to see in DCS, P-80s, and -84s in a WWII Campaign.

I always wondered about the “luftberry”. They were probably experiencing the same thing, losing speed.

Yeah one thing that you guys could work on is the WW2 plane models. Cause man, I just can't enjoy any of the ones where it is a P-51 role playing as the badguys. I get the same way watching old WW2 films from the 60s where they use Patton tanks painted grey as German tanks. Just looks cheesy, and causes a severe suspension of disbelief reaction.
I understand, believe me. But ED need to release more WW2 modules! We are doing our best with the ones available.
If this takes place in March 1941, why are there FW190s and UK P47s? And why is there a P51 in the German group?

I think the reasoning behind the P-51’s may be because some people don’t have adequate funds to buy all the modules (I know I wouldn’t) so they fly with the closest thing they have.

I am a Mosquito fan boy (OLD man LoL) somethings I have heard a few time and DON'T know how true it is or is not
the Mosquito could carry the same bomb load as the Fortress (when it was flighting long range missions)
and the Mosquito could fly 2 missions in the time it take the Fortress to fly one?

I Would like to see mustangs or p47s escort b17 or 24 over germany for instance over the ball bearing factories or such or ploesti oil field in romania?
Why were the allied fighters just flying in straight lines while being attacked?
Are the allies AC flying by A.I. or real players?
I prefer to see my German bomber raids of Britain blown up with Genie nuclear rockets or chewed up with GAU-8 but I suppose this will also do. 🙂

What if Hitler didnt do Hitler things (holocaust), and were part of the allies instead of Russia? Say WW2 happens but its the allies including Germany against russia and china in say 1947 to 1955ish. Would the Allies win or would the communists?

Yikes, the RAF absolutely sucked! I've seen Shahids fly better and crash with more grace than these RAF flying bombs. Interesting stratejury though - fly in a straight line, get shot up and crash into the local children's hospital!
