Sorry mate. Yes, you're right, it isn't a whitesnake album, it's a steve vai album with coverdale on it. I would love to have heard what a second proper sykes/coverdale ablum would have sounded like. Guess the closest we've got is the first blue murder album - do you know it? It's great.
I a huge fan of David Coverdale, but I must side with John Sykes on this disagreement.
Coverdale kicked tons of people out of Whitesnake. John Sykes is not the only one.
Super! John Sykes is amazing.
JOHN SYKES IS🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I wonder if Rob Reiner or Christopher Guest saw this before the legendary spinal tap movie. the relaxed rock star chewing gum on camera speaking his mind.
John Sykes IS sPINAL tAP !
Super!!
John Sykes bloody amazing guitarist and a sound to die for
I dont think Vai would have joined Whitesnake if it werent for the fact he would get to play all the cool songs John Sykes wrote?,.Think about it?
Hard not to like Sykes. A bit cocky, but not off-the-charts arrogant, and he doesn't take himself too seriously.
Coverdale hijacked his own career when he fired Sykes they never ever had spark, when he left, they could have been huge otherwise.
If Phil hadn't passed and Sykes could have avoided the poison that was Coverdale maybe he'd have been more productive and happy with the music scene. As is a top 5 guitarist for me.
Let’s be glad they met tho or we’d never have the phenomenal 1987 album
I'm a Sykes fan but listening to him in this clip made me think of Spinal Tap.
Love Sykes. To me he just articulated reality at that time; definitely confident, which is cool with me. Bought the Whitesnake release a few years ago with Sykes and Cozy playing together (1984?); it's badass.
1:37 - 1:48 fucking legend
Stop blaspheming, you ignoramus tosspot.!
2 words Blue Murder!
I loved Jelly Roll
Actually Vai can sing, listen to All about Eve, it's a great song :)
Just respect Adje for laying down a nice track.
I'm a huge fan of Sykes and Vandenberg. I prefer Adje's Here I Go, though obviously still of the night had to be a Sykes riff and solo.
john sykes writes or cowrites songs i can remember..i dig vai, but i def preferred sykes in snake
.
Brilliant
.
It's a shame David Coverdale fired him !. He helped Whitesnake become international stars !
Yes he sure did
They already were actually)) us market needs great promotion, thats what they get with that lineup
@@cornucopia8591 He wrote a lot of the material on the 1987 album. And that's the one that really made it BIG in the US.
I've always wondered if Coverdale fired him because after John ,Coverdale wasn't the most handsome guy in the band. My opinion from a girl fan point of view.
@@andreawagner7352 That's just ridiculous. Guys don't think that way, that's a female thing.
No, he´s 8 in this vid. He joined Whitesnake in the 60´s.
He was a baby during rocking with Thin Lizzy.
An embryo with the Tygers, and just a twinkle in his daddies eye with Streetfighter.....
extremely underrated
You have no clue at all. Go back to Abba
BAD ASS LOVE JOHN SYKES THIN LIZZY 4 EVER
Notice that the other guitarist in Thin Lizzy the majority of the time, Scott Gorham made everyone who played with him sound great. Props to Scott Gorham, one of my favorites.
No, it was Steve Via who wouldn't accept Vandenberg - not John Sykes
talkin about cozy powell ! yeeaa , guy was awesome.
Looks like John "rocked" his fashion from a popular show at the time, Miami Vice with the Don Johnson white suit!
Possibly, but Johnson's a better guitar player....
I have a feeling that Michael McKean based part of his Spinal Tap character on John Sykes looks.
What kind of a sweater is that with a plastic banana and strawberries??
whitesnake ,we arent too big in america,,WAIT A YEAR OR SO...........damned this guy is so bad ass
Crying in The Rain guitar and singing is wrote by Coverdale actually :)
Correct. At last somebody who knows what they're talking about.
No that's not true
🌟Great interview‼️❗️
😉Yet, how comes, John doesn‘ t speak Posh⁉️
💛He‘ s definitely ✨Rock ‘N‘ Royalty⚜️✨⚡️🌟
