I want to go to Ireland just because I know I would find people who love Thin Lizzy and Phil Lynott as much as me. Pure rock n roll! Phil was a Legend!
I'm a lizzy nutter but only heard this for the first time about 10yrs ago, I was choked up.. A sykes song but lizzy lynott through and through. ♥️ Miss you Philo old pal. X
I'd never heard this song but it sounds cool. Some would say that Phil was getting commercial but he was also trying to stay up with the times. He did a great job in Thin Lizzy and is one of my heroes .
Rockforevermusic IT'S BEEN TOO FUCKING LONG SYKES!!!!!!!!!!!! WE NEEEED MORE BADASS LICKS AND MARVELOUSLY ADAPTABLE COMPOSED SOLOS WITH THOSE PPIICCKK SSQQEEAALLSS!!!!!!!
Phil...Gary...We miss you so much !!!...😢 John please come back !!!...show to all these guitar player without soul what is A pure guitarist...you the abdolute fan of Gary... Fantastic song remembering all the titles that Phil and Gary made togegher till 1986... RIP My Friends ❤😢
When I was around 14, I bought farewell tour 83 CD at a second hand market because I knew and liked Boys are back in town. Just to fall in love with Sykes' guitar and Phil,'s vocals. Literally until the day I die.
No f***** way!!! I've known this song for like quarter of a century, by Pretty Maids. Has always been my favourite, a fantastic song. I was in Dublin, at a gig dedicated to Phil, where Gary and all the Lizzy members played, back in 2005, and had no idea that Phil had sung this song. And now, 2017, I listen to the song again by Pretty Maids live and I think, "That's funny, that guitarist is wearing a Thin Lizzy t-shirt". And the next video... is this! No way, how could I have been missing this for so long? Duh.... Still like the Pretty Maids version more, though. Better vocals, imho, and longer solo, too.
I only just found out today too, that the original was by John Sykes and Phil Lynott. Never knew it before. I saw a comment elsewhere on the Pretty Maids version saying they preferred the original, and I thought, well this *is* the original, but before replying to the comment I thought again, hang on, what if it isn't? Though I also grew up with the Pretty Maids version and that is the version I prefer. I just like the chorus sung an octave higher, just makes it work better somehow.
Come on John the time is right get a new album out frontiers records are crying out for you and your talent let's get the great rock tunes and melody and fun back into music
Легенды! Джон и Фил! Светлая память , Филу! Джону, здоровья и сил с вдохновением! Слушаем и будем слушать всегда!
One of my favourite Lynott songs...we all still love you Phil
This song is amazing, John Sykes guitar playing is amazing, Phil's voice is amazing.

John Sykes is the guitar player, who can really make his guitar cry in tears...this melody is just brilliant
NEVER FORGET PHIL LYNOT
Most underrated guitarist of all time. Easily!
he can rip it. no doubt.
Absolutely. Especially since he's so easily overlooked with Viv and Adrian in all the videos from '87.
It’s a shame ..
John is a giant
Agreed. Those were John's songs. He basically wrote the entire '87 album@@raypowers8083
2023 and still a masterpiece

after all these years
Phil was a heartbreaker.
He broke my heart too.
This song makes me cry.
he in the image of whom he sings
Phil had such great band of brothers. Eric, Scott, Gary, Robbo, John, Brian.. Sorry if I forgot some.. We should never forget them as well.
Yep. You forgot Snowy White. But they're all really good.
@Roanoke VA
!!!!!
Ol Phil did Snowy dirty somewhat, is unfortunate
People like Phil Lynott, Gary Moore and John Sykes are like a bridge between Dire Straits and heavy metal.
I dont believe its true !!!! I think i am dreaming everytime i listen thin lizzy....
Nope..... Mark was very much hus own man.... there is no comparison between Sykes and knophler.... listen to mire if both artists and educate yourself

@@CynwidionThis is a John Sykes song on which Phil played. Pretty Maids are obviously doing a cover of this
この映像が残っているのがとても嬉しいです!
I really love this song, it really tugs at the heart strings. Maybe not as popular as some of his other songs.

Why didn't this become a massive hit?!?
Anyone know where I can buy this (On a CD, not from iTunes etc.)?
I’ve never been jealous of Irish teenagers in Ireland in the 80s, but I am right now
Fantastique !!!
Sykes formed "Blue Murder" at Phi passed away. Found a live version that really kicks ass. Worth checking out. Hope you find it.
I can hear Brian May, Mark Knopfler and John Sykes by style and tone only.......all three are distinctive beyond guitar playing
and there is gary moore. the best guitar player thin lizzy ever had. Also one of the greatest ever.
