They cleaned the fish tank so well that it's literally glowing. The corals are GLOWING!!!!!!
Amazing! Zelie is actually my aunt and she’s been working there for years now. Recently she’s been off growing coral with a team. It’s so cool to see her here :)

Love the Georgia Aquarium! They have an entire freshwater section in addition to their reef tank where they keep tetras, rasboras, cories etc.! For some reason I find it absolutely thrilling to see species you can find in an LFS kept on display in a public facility. Oh, and they also have a HUGE koi pond in their main room!
I wish you were able to show much more of the aquarium. What was shown was a snippet of the aquarium. Highly recommend if anyone has the opportunity to visit, I highly suggest you do.

Living in Atlanta has absolutely spoiled me in terms of aquariums. Very few aquariums can compare. I have absolutely had amazing experiences in other aquariums but in terms of overall experiences in one place the Georgia Aquarium is in a class of its own
I got my career in environmental ed./ conservation started here, and the aquarist staff (Zelie included) was a huge part of that!

I would take the time to see this any moment i got the chance to! Its absolutely amazing! But i have to say at the moment my favorite is the Monterey bay aquarium! I love going with my family there and its so much fun to visit california since ive moved to nevada! I would’ve loved to see the ocean voyager open ocean exhibit too!

Love coming to our Aquarium! So many species of fish, and also there’s a nice natural exhibit upstairs if you take the time to venture throughout the Aquarium. If you haven’t, you should try the Tennessee Aquarium if it still exists lol.

One of the Dogs in my Family is my #2 Best Friend on Earth right now, but she hasn’t had the opportunity to meet another Animal that is a part of our Family. I had some in the past; however, unfortunately the only other Animal in our Family right now is my other Dog, Rocky. I would really love for our Dog, MJ, to learn that there are other Animals in my Family because it’s a bit of a Spiritual Thing for me. It would truly mean a lot to me if you could somehow convince my Dad to let me get a Fish 💖 No words would be able to describe how amazing you are for doing this for me 🥹
Love this aquarium and would take any chance I could to go see it. It does seem like a rather short tour/video for the largest aquarium in the US though.

This aquarium single handedly got me into marine biology. I live in Atlanta and went here just for the fun of it, but left with such a huge love for marine life that I almost immediately got my schooling started for it. Really is a beautiful and informative place.

The Georgia Aquarium is one of my favourites in the world right now, it's my dream to go!! 😍 I wish you had shown the Ocean Voyager open ocean exhibit, that's the largest open ocean exhibit in all of North America, with over 6 million gallons of water and 4 whale sharks!
Hi! I live near the GA Aquarium: It is a genuinely magical experience. Ocean Voyager has always been one of my favorites.
They used to have Sawfish there, but they don't have them anymore.

in 5th grade we took a really cool overnight field trip to that aquarium!!! we got to sleep under the glass tunnel and even got to go in the back and see a whale shark too it was truly the most fun experience ive ever had.

Why did you only show such a small portion of the aquarium
As a Georgia native I’m proud to be able to have one of the largest aquariums in the world in the same state I’m from and I’ve been twice in my entire life because unfortunately my family moved to Colorado and now I’m stuck with a pathetic aquarium here in Denver and I absolutely hate it but anyways I went there when I was 2 or 3 years old which was the year after my family had moved to Colorado and I went there back in October of 2021 as an 18 year old and was completely blown away I want to go back again now that I’m scuba certified and dive with the whale sharks
I salute you guys! That restoration work (particularly coral) is still make or break it for ecosystems. This coming from a former aquarium employee.
Also cudos to the divers, doing it as volunteers at that.
I was in the aquarium when it was being built. I had the job (with many others) to scan the main tanks walls for any internal cracks or weak spots. Even as a visitor to the aquarium, it's incredibly difficult to realize just how large that tank is.
How do they stop the water from leaking, are there rubber seals between the walls and glass, how thick is the glass to hold the Waters weight.

i absolutely adore the georgia aquarium!! its definitely fun to go during the week instead of weekends and holidays to avoid crowds and you tend to meet workers who have more experience and can answer a few questions about the animals. also avoid the cafeteria at all costs
I agree! Week > Weekends. The membership is the best, lets you visit any time for free
Also why is the Cafeteria so bad? cafe Aquaria or whatever sells a ton of stuff, and the food tasted fine.
Take the time to sit in front of that indo Pacific reef wall. It's mesmerizing to watch. I love watching the wave above the tank

It's a fantastic aquarium. My favorite I've ever been to. But it's not the largest in the world- Ocean Voyager is 6.5 Million gallons, which is nuts! But the biggest aquarium in the world is at Chimelong ocean kingdom

Why do Americans think that the US is the world? The actual largest aquarium is in China, certified as the largest by Guinness. Chimelong Ocean Kingdom, for those wondering.
He's not _necessarily_ wrong as it depends on what he meant by "aquarium"
If he meant it in reference to the entire building/building complex, yes he's incorrect, but if he meant it as a synonym for "tank" then he's actually correct as the Georgia Aquarium does indeed have the largest tank in the world
@@TheAstrobiologistOW I suppose it's semantics, and yet in context it seems as if he's referencing the facility, due to the fact that it's a tour of the entire aquarium.
Additionally, as someone with intimate knowledge of large aquatic exhibitions like this, no single tank is ever called an aquarium. The entire facility is the aquarium.
Also, last I knew, at the time of opening Chimelong's 6 million gallon exhibit was the largest, certified in 2014. It seems that this is no longer the case.
Maybe that's where my point of view comes from.

I went to the Georgia aquarium when I was 7 years old I’m 17 now, but man I still remember it like it was yesterday, it was exciting being there I loved everything about it man I remember the dolphin show it was crazy! But man after that fun and exciting day the nap I took once we got home was one of the best naps ever lol, but man this aquarium rocks.
I had the pleasure of visiting the Georgia Aquarium and did their behind the scenes tour they offer. It was absolutely amazing.

Loved coming here, especially peaking through the door to see the folks getting a VIP look of the massive ocean tank with the whale sharks. The wavy barrier reef aquarium was cool too
Loved it when I was a kid, but when I went a few years ago it changed a lot and not for the better. It’s so crowded and seems like they made everything less accessible for some reason. So hard to get in and see things now, not to mention they added so many other non-aquarium things like playgrounds and other kid stuff, just seems like a tourist trap now. Not nearly as enjoyable as it used to be.

So looking at the information, I was wondering your thoughts on Aquarium Movies, just the parts that show the displays and workings of the aquarium. Suggestions: Aquaman (2018), very short scene, Finding Dory (2016), Dolphin Tale (2011), Jackie Chan's First Strike (1996), Jaws 3D (1983), Return of the Creature (1955). Interesting displays, good look at the workings of an aquarium or Hollywood fantasy, and interesting species.

I've been here and honestly its not that big, it does how ever have thew LARGEST open ocean exhibit in the world, but you didn't cover the 30+ animals who have died in that tank over the course of the last 5 years including 2 of the 3 whale sharks died in that last 2 years..
