Thanks for watching! I wasn't sure if I would be able to do it, especially after quite a few unsuccessful attempts. But it's finally done! Please like, comment, subscribe, and share this video. Thanks again!
I always thought the fairies just made weird noises when you picked them up, but now watching this video I can hear it more clearly. They're saying "yousei" which is "fairy" in Japanese. A bit like a Pokémon, just repeating its own name.
That's an excellent question! I missed at least two butterflies and one squirrel. I don't think I missed any fairies. I had trouble finishing the route (due to missed flowers, etc.), but I did finish it multiple times. This was the first time I was able to get the score. Was I just really close all those other times (perhaps 1m98cm9.9mm), and only this time did I manage it? Or is there still some mystery factor involved?
@@ThumbsOfSteel74 Im pretty sure at least missing fairies makes a difference by a millimeter or so in afap flowers diameter, so i was wondering if it was the same here. As for other mystery factor, the goofiness of the size multiplier does seem to play a big role in the background of most runs. On Cousins diameter, where is easy enough to get every object, sometimes i would end with 1m30cm4mm instead of 5mm for no apparent reason, and i think the size multiplier may have been the cause of that. I also managed to get 24cm0mm in the tutorial without playing as ace yesterday as well, another stage where its easy to get every single object. I have no clue what i did differently in either case. So that seems to make a difference by a millimeter in other stages for sure
Hey, do you have any tips/advice for getting 1m98cm4mm in flowers afap? I did some attempts on ps2 so that I can get the spiders, but so far all of my runs have ended on 1m98cm0mm and I’m not sure what I’m missing :(
Sorry, I realize it's been a few days. I've actually been putting off replying in the hope that I might come up with a better answer. The only thing I could find online was a post of mine from ~15 years ago at KotW. I got 1m97cm7mm, and I don't recall trying it since. I'm pretty sure the Present exists in AFAP if you didn't get it in AMAP (Lots of Flowers). Other than that, I would try getting the biggest flowers only until you reach the limit. Getting everything else, of course: butterflies, squirrels, fairies, etc. That's probably not too helpful. If I get a chance, I'll try firing up the game to see if I can find out more.
@@ThumbsOfSteel74 Thank you! I get waiting to reply, Ive done that myself lol. In my runs I was pretty thorough with getting all the non-flower things to my knowledge (butterflies, present, snake in the grass, etc). I was getting small lily bells, but i didnt realize that each gave 3 flowers, so avoiding those leaves room for about 70 extra flowers in future runs. But all thats left in the end was the stuffs in the colored flower beds, and getting 70 extra pansies at the end doesnt seem like it would give 4mm more :( So maybe I could experiment with avoiding tulips, roses, etc to see if that helps?
@swimminginoblivion5186 That seems like a solid plan! Definitely avoid anything that counts as more than one flower. The tiny ones in groups on the path around the lake, the yellow ones that wrap halfway around the stump. Maybe others? Also, is there a particular reason you're aiming at 1m98cm4mm? It looks familiar somehow, but I don't remember why.
@@ThumbsOfSteel74 1m98cm4mm is the top score listed in the scoreboard archive on Katamari on the Web. Naturally I want to get as close to the record as I can lol. I do also think that a few of the flower beds had single flowers mixed with sets of 3 flowers, so I usually avoided those at the end.
@swimminginoblivion5186 Lol. I forgot all about that section of the scoreboard. It's a shame there apparently wasn't any discussion of these scores back then, but I'm sure we can figure it out now.
Thanks for watching!

Very nicely done!
How many of the butterflies and fairies and other small stuffs were needed for this score?
