The soundtrack is almost my favorite thing about this series only second to the gameplay. I listen to the soundtracks daily. They are amazing.

They really did it justice. High fidelity graphics at whatever framerate on PC that is also very well optimized (1440p 90 fps on a 1050 Ti on max settings, wtf), a DLC that adds even more music, and also completely new content. Absolutely worth it.

I grew up playing Katamari Forever on PS3, I had so much fun with that game which got me to liking the Katamari series, I never gotten to play the other Katamari games back then until I got Katamari Damacy Reroll on Switch, at first I wasn’t used to not jumping since I used jump quite a lot in Katamari Forever, but I eventually got used to it. I did play We Love Katamari Reroll as well and I found it really fun as well. I played Beautiful Katamari and I can say that it is the smoothest game in the series in terms of framerate. I still have yet to play the 2 handheld titles and I look forward to playing them, I’m hoping they get rerolls as well.

Great video! I've only played Katamari Damacy, We Love Katamari, and Katamari Forever, but I agree with your placements of them. The first two games are the perfect balance of simplicity and a constant feeling of progression. We Love Katamari definitely expands on the first game and has some of the most creative level concepts in the series, with my favorite being the campfire stages. Really excited for We Love Katamari Reroll in a few months!

idk if anyone remembers but back in flip phone days i think on my envy (one with the keyboard) i had a mobile phone game for it. it was surprisingly pretty good for crappy phone games of its time. Damacy is my favorite and the soundtrack SLAPS. playing the remake and so happy they kept it the exact same.
Rolling with Katamari is the game! it was pretty sick for its time i definitely got yelled at as a pre teen for downloading it XD my dad was pissed. shit was expensive back then for anything extra on a phone

I played Touch My Katamari first when it came to VITA, and, while it was fun, I definitely found the touch controls weird and the spreadable Katamari kind of pointless too.
I got Reroll when it came out and then I got W❤K Reroll yesterday and already I’m seeing how much greater these games are. This series is so pure and chaotic. I absolutely love it.

Fair list. I honestly don't even like ranking the top 4 because they are equally good imo. All good levels and the OST is top tier no matter what lol
I’ve been with this franchise for over 5 years now, and I have to say your critiques basically took the words out of my mouth. The only thing I’d do differently is swap damacy and forever, since I personally think forever is better story and gameplay wise, plus I love the graphical style. Great video!

Yup.....I totally agree with these rankings, and finding that there is a ReRoll of We Love Katamari is just perfection! Katamari Damacy series is one of my all-time favorites!
i only got into the katamari franchise recently as well. i saw katamari damacy reroll was on xbox gamepass sometime last year and began to play it.. a few days before it was gonna taken off gamepass. the few levels i was able to play within that time IMMEDIATELY hooked me in with the soundtrack, and for weeks on end it was some of the only music id listen to. I ended up getting the game on switch at some point and have now played through the entire thing, and not too long after, i saw we love katamari reroll was announced on the nintendo direct. ive yet to get it but ive listened to the entire soundtrack and also LOVED bluffing damacy,, i swear i listen to it at least 10 times a day its so great. i plan to get the game eventually, probably not now cos i'm probably gonna get pikmin 4 first, and based off the clips of gameplay ive seen i think ill have even more fun with we love katamari than i did with damacy
I found this franchise through a mobile game, Amazing Katamari Damacy iirc, and it was the best thing ever for 11 year old me hehe

The only thing I didn’t like about the first katamari game was how sensitive the katamari was. You’d barely tapped on anything and objects go flying out. Also had trouble detecting when you were trying to roll on top/ up things. Later titles kind of fixed this but touch my katamari made it feel jelly like. Which I am not a fan of.

This was an amazing ranking. I agreed 100%. We ❤ Katamari is one of my favorite games ever. It's a perfect sequel, and playing through the new Reroll version today, it's held up amazingly!
In terms of a more objective standpoint, I think Damacy is the "worst" simply because it is the one with the least features and unpolish. I say unpolish because if you directly compare it to We Love, you can see that getting stuck and having things break off is a lot easier, which makes the levels feel a lot more cramped in some instances. Even without all that though, it's still very short, and the level variety is very minuscule.
But still, even with all that in mind it's my second or third favorite since it's what brought the series forward to begin with. It's still way better than most AAA releases nowadays, that's for sure. Tucker brought fourth the point that Damacy and We Love as an evolutionary comparison is about on par with Super Mario Bros. 1 and 3, and I agree.
I do wish Me & My got some better treatment though, it wouldn't have been nearly as bad if the controls weren't abysmal, and because of those controls I personally rank it as the worst in my opinion. It's a shame too because I don't think they would remaster that one, but I could be wrong.
Yeah i agree with what you said with me and my katamari. Super interesting levels and very replay-able. Just those controls are so difficult!

I played Katamari Damacy for years and hung onto my PS2 to do so. I also played We Love Katamari on PS2. I was excited when Katamari Damacy re-roll came out on the Switch, but was disappointed to not see We ❤️ Katamari. However it finally released and I hesitated for a moment thinking I didn't really need two Katamari games, but once I started playing it I remembered how much better We ❤ Katamari was than the original and glad I have both.
Great video! Could use a little work on vocal quality, and maybe a bit more editing to cover up mistakes and dead space. Otherwise, enjoyed it a lot :)

If you like bluffing damacy you should listen to some other songs by the artist that made it, Kirinji, like Futagoza Graffiti or Ame wa mofu yoni

I do have a few negatives of the remastered of Reroll (Especially with We love Katamari) The Sound effects in the Remastered sounds really Bad, if U compared with the basic one👎. I still believe it’s seen like Bandai Namco is having copyright ©️ issues if they don’t have the rights of the Sound Effects for the remastered version. since I still prefer the Original Sfx pitch a lot. 😢

Good video and the only thing I don't agree with is that Katamari Damacy had worse music than We
For me, the first two OSTs are soooooo close that i could pretty much interchange them! However we love katamari has bluffing spirt which is my favorite video game track ever.
I need to play one of these games sometime.

WTF? Touch my Katamari is LAST? bro, the Stretch/Squeeze gameplay is so fuckin good, it'd instantly make the other games better if they had em. It's best for getting under things, or reaching taller items.

forever i played the so much of that game the ost is so bad underwater song ruined I hate the shaders it just doesn't work and the game was lagy just like you explained i played that game so much it used to haunt me it's dose not anymore but i can't play it anymore the shaders and ost just make me mad
